I'm semi-serious about Allen getting some reps. Let's at least find out if he's even serviceable as a backup.
Exactly. Shit, you can at least cling to the wild hope that he's the next Brady(in reality, he's probably a middle-of-the-road career backup)...but at this point, give me the wild hope of the unknown over what I'm 110% certain about Poppin' Bortles.
Panthers player was just laying on the field injured and the P.A. Guy played like 4 seconds of Another One Bites the Dust before he thought better of it.
This team has somehow gotten worse. And how the fuck can you spend third and fourth round picks on Smoot and Westbrook when you trot out those shit stains at guard?
I'd agree about the OL. It's really abysmal. The DL looked like a problem a couple times, getting gashed in the run game but did a good job at other times. Carolina's a good run team and there some starters missing. we were also shit at getting to the QB. I'm sure our FAs won't pan out to be worth a damn, as per the usual. A couple drops that you could attribute to rain and Henne took at least one Bortles sack, where he held the ball too long, even after seeing the rusher. Cam is still having too many false starts - 2 more last night. On the plus side, we got to heckle Cam Newton and he gave us a Superman gesture then feigned shying away when we yelled at him. It's kind of hard to hate the guy. There's a reason Henne never outright took the job from Bortles. He's still not our guy, but he's less likely to throw the ball to the other team, so that's a plus.
Why would anyone do that, he's fucking awful. Bortles and Caldwell need to go immediately. Chad isn't much better, but that injury guarantee for Bortles means he has to be cut.
He said that word-for-word this am. I enjoy listening to them. Aside from being Gator homers they don't bother me.
Granted Carolinas offensive line is really good, I was surprised at how shitty our defensive line played. I didn't watch last week but apparently it was the same story. Also Jack needs to be the starter at MLB. Poz has obviously been great for us for many years but it's time. Agree with above, henne sucks but at least he won't throw as many picks at BB. He is going to take a loooot of sacks though.
They're pretty good. The tackles are awful. So bad they had to sign a guy to start this year who hasn't graded out positive since 2012
I'm pretty sure the stats say henne is slightly more likely to turn the ball over. He's never really been a game manager type qb. I think they should just roll with Allen. Crazy that the season is once again over before it's even started.
And it's absolutely ridiculous that we're deciding between Bortles and Henne while Kaepernick is still availabile. He's not great but he's an instant upgrade over what we have.
Idk man other than being able to run better I'm not so sure. The ol is going to keep any QB from being worth half a fuck
Yes. Absolutely without question. I'm not saying he's Montana but Bortles and Henne are #1 and #3 on the worst qbr list for the last 10 years. He doesn't have to be great to be an upgrade.
Do you think he's one of the 3 worst QBs over the last decade? If not, he's an improvement over what we have. He dieent habe to be very good to be an upgrade.
Fair enough. So let say he wins 4 games instead of 3. You happy? I'd ride Henne on out hope to get Darnold #1 overall.
If you want to tank, that's fine. Just don't say he wouldn't be an upgrade though bc he absolutely would.
Marginal upgrade, fine. Just doesn't seem like he's going to be some savior like people seem to think he'd be.
Doug Marrone and Nathaniel Hackett are not the guys to produce even a half way decent offense. I still have no clue why Marrone was hired in the first place.
Who's saying that? And bottom 3 over a decade to top 25 currently in the league is more than marginal.
In addition to just being a better quarterback, his threat to run helps the OL. Our OL is bad enough to hamper even the best QBs. Without improving the talent of the OL, the only way to help them is to either run some form of a west coast offense than gets the ball out of QB's hand after 3 steps every play, or have a QB mobile enough to alleviate some of the pressure himself.
The contrary to this actually one of the reasons people are vocal against Kap. Harbaugh shit all over him for not being able to pick up the playbook fully in SF and people think he can't do the same with Hackett's.
I don't think any of the three QB's being discussed will make t more than a handful of games before being injured.
You've acted like bringing Kaep in will make the Jags a contender in the division. Just because now I'm curious; what we're Kaeps numbers under Harbaugh compared to after Harbaugh?
well ? I think we will be ok . from what I have seen we should win 8 games this year. no kidding , 8 games this year at least .
Everyone except Bortles. I just started comparing all of them on pro-football, and it's just making me more depressed. Just play Brandon Allen and let's go get Darnold.
I haven't said anything other than him being better than Bortles and Henne. You're making shit up man.
