They don't ever tell you... but usually that's about the cutoff from what I've heard. Then it's the same cutoff again for the next test.
I think 35 is the cutoff. I had an audition last year and definitely didn't get 45 on that online test. Though, it' completely luck of the draw if they pick your name out of all the people that passed, because the test I got an audition on was probably the lowest I've ever scored on any online test.
I just watched last night's test on youtube. I thought it was easier than usual. I am usually in the high 30s/low 40s and would have had a 45 on last night's.
From what I have read on the jeopardy message board, I think the consensus is that 35 is the cutoff. And I got a 36 (maybe 37 if they counted one that I didn't get a full answer in on time) on the test that got me an audition. So it definitely has to be close to 35.
Took Tuesday's... got 46 Spoiler missed the question about capillary action (never heard that term), the one about ACBs (still don't know what those are), the Velveteen Rabbit (just stumped), and the organ for white-blood cells (stumped again)
ACB is apparently adult coloring book. wtf... that's the one I'm not even upset about missing. I blanked on several that I know and there were a few that I missed that I didn't know but probably should have. ACBs... I don't even.... why is that a Jeopardy! question?
at least I'm consistent... 46. I thought it was much tougher than Tuesday's, though. Spoiler missed Praetorian, Lazarus, and the Eggers just because I had no clue and wouldn't have gotten them with unlimited time... stupidly couldn't think of asparagus for the "spargel" question... guessed celery
Last night's test: 39 again for me. I thought it was a little harder than Wednesday's, too. Though, maybe Wednesday's questions were just in my wheelhouse.
I have to take one of the tests. Two nights ago when someone mentioned it, I literally was shut out of the first round. I would be lying if I said I got more than two right, my brain just wasnt working. Then last night, I nailed a ton of questions. Regardless, I would be happy to get on the show and not finish in the negative.
How do you know how you did? Outside of googling each question. Also, somehow, SOMEHOW, I blanked on the Van Gogh question. I could see the damn painting in my head, but could not think of who.
I write my answers down and if I have a question about it I write a ? next to it. Then look it up after.
Crazy that three people all had 14,400 as runner ups. Pac-12 strongly represented with Cal, Stanford, and USC.
It was like SNL celebrity jeopardy. Perdido Beach and I turned it on and seeing $4500, 5000, and $2500 were like, "sweet, doubled Jeopardy is about to start". Wrong. Final Jeopardy question was a total softball and Steele had no fucking clue...not even a guess on a simple answer.
Yeah, that was an embarrassing performance. They all underwhelmed, but some of those questions should've been layups for Steele.
Catching up on this power players week. Contestants have no sense of the ticking clock and just wasting loads of time trying (and failing) to be charming.
