Considering Montreal for my bachelor party....speak to me of the shenanigans in this GOAT city north of our border
Seriously, you probably should let one of your friend handle this Thing and just put him in contact with champ. The Guy could probably start a business at this point for people visiting mtl and looking to eat well and have a good Time.
Im not going to do my bachelor party in MTL b/c I dont want the dirty feelings to cause me to rule out moving there eventually But gat damn would it be fun
It's a party city, lots of bars, lots of restaurants, there's an European feel to the city, we've got strippers, casinos, girls are hot. Hard to ask for much more. Don't hesitate to shoot me a PM or two if you have any questions/need anything, as others have done. Always a pleasure to help people have a good time in our great city.
Appreciate it, it's down to there or Austin but it seems like it's leaning to Montreal Once it's a go I'll PM you
We were going to head down tomorrow but too many bailed. Isn't it further up St Laurent, far away from the downtown core? Not that we'd hit up Crescent street but we were thinking of staying at the Marriot Champlain.
Yeah, it's further north on St-Laurent. Lots of great places nearby, but it's not really a tourist neighborhood.
Have to give props to Le Chien Fumant. Place took 10 drunk Americans on a Friday night, were extremely gracious, and served some of the best food I've ever had. Thanks Champ.
FWIW, Fairmount is where we stopped on the way to the afterparty. Regular bagels are fine, but I could eat an ungodly amount of fresh off the oven bagels. So good.
enjj Eric Macramalla @EricOnSportsLaw 47m47 minutes ago Had lunch w/ Warren Cromartie today. As always, healthy dose of Expos-return talk. I remain optimistic team back in 4-6 years via expansion. Eric Macramalla @EricOnSportsLaw Currency alone should not be obstacle to Montreal getting MLB team - see Blue Jays. but from what I have read still does not look like the province is willing to give any tax breaks to build a new stadium. Will take one of the big $ quebecois to make a legacy move.
I'd say it's happening. Bell Media is involved with ownership. MLB wants it to happen. Eric has a pretty good source on this.
here is the last feasibility study http://www.montrealbaseballproject.com/wp-content/themes/mbp/assets/docs/Feasibility_Study.pdf

Have locked in my bachelor party for the end of July I've told my best man that the only time I really want to be at where we are staying is to sleep so not to blow our loads(no pun intended) on a really nice place when I don't want to spend much time there. Now looking at the places on Airbnb, a ton of them have a "no partying" and/or "must not bring shoes inside" requirements which just isn't going to be realistic for this crew. So I'm thinking a hotel might be best We are looking at potentially staying at the Loews hotel vogue, is anyone familiar? We really just need a hotel in the area of the bars/activities we plan on doing
Will be visiting in 2 weeks for a bachelor party. Just one afternoon in Montreal, however. The rest in Mont Tremblant. We are staying at the Omni. Where's the best spot for a Thursday night?
The Loews is a great spot. Their restaurant is great since Miron's hire, it's downtown so plenty of stuff to do and you won't have problems gettjng a cab to go North on the Plateau or South to the Old Port if needed.
This is exactly what we did in 2014. Flew into Montreal on a Thurs, Mont Tremblant Fri and Sat. You're gonna have a blast. My write-up was lost in the crash, but Montreal and Tremblant are so fucking fun. The ski village in Tremblant is badass. Champ can give the recs on strip clubs and bars again. We got kicked out of one the nicest strip clubs in Montreal at like 5 PM on a Thurs. Can't remember the name. Lots of good beer spots, too. Top tier North American city.
Yeah, plenty of irish bars. It's also right by Crescent, which is where the Formula 1 festivities are, so lots of clubs. Not my kind of spots, but there's plenty to do.
How did you get from Montreal to Tremblant? Guy who is organizing is a bit of a shitshow and promised transit but couldn't coordinate with all the flights, but recommended splitting an Uber XL 4-5 ways per guy. Seems expensive to me but I couldn't really find another option. I'm pretty pumped about it, although the idea of heading from Atlanta to Montreal in February seems a little backwards.
I wasn't involved in any of the planning (thankfully), but we rented 2 vans (there were about 10-12 of us). Rented them from the airport on Thursday and returned them on Sunday. I remember looking at taxis/uber, and the vans were much, much cheaper.
As far as prices = the awesome exchange rate is extremely favorable and MTL hotels are all reasonably priced compared to other big cities. The most expensive part about MTL is getting there. On Ubers = the fares were surged quite frequently...and we had a lot wider range of drivers (French, Punjabi) than youre typical tourist taxi; but we also had some of our best drivers. Was hit or miss.
Yea, no doubt. Luckily we had 3-4 guys that weren't able to fly in until really late, so they had to drive by default.
