Have been to Vogue Loews many times. Very nice. I usually hit up Brutopia on Crescent street. Nice pub.
Moishes and shwwartz, you can't go wrong ...but find what you want to eat and mtl has It. If i were you i would reserve à table at Joe beef right now for when you are in town.
Joe Beef and Liverpool House were my 2 favorites Grumman 78 was awesome but not uniquely Quebec....whereas I thought Pied de Cochon was a must-experience. Also La Banquise. Also Fairmont Bagels. Also anything in or around Marche Jean Talon.
Old school, classic steakhouse. It's known as one of America's best steakhouse. Expensive, but the meat is top notch.
Yep, probably just one day though. I've skiied probably a dozen times or so but it's been almost 5 years since the last time.
Great hill but damn it can get cold up there. Especially with the wind coming off the lake. Caribou is the main bar at night and it gets hot af in it. Apres ski at Le Shack, between 3-7 is probably the best time in Tremblant. Are you staying on the hill or in the village?
Believe we are in a chalet on the hill but not certain exactly. Low right now is apparently -18 so I'll probably just die it's fine
it was -20 when I went. By far the coldest weather I've ever experienced. The top of the mountain was unbearable. Caribou and Le Shack are awesome. Agree with this.
You guys should consider doing these trips late march, not sure why anybody would want to come here in february
If it's in two weeks the weather is warming up. It will still be cold at the top. Oh well... Enjoy the trip. Love me some Tremblant.
So if I have little (but some) experience driving in the snow, would it be stupid to rent a car? I'm looking at prices now and our idea of taking Uber up to Tremblant seems dumber and dumber. Cheaper to get a car even if it just sits there all weekend (which it will). My only concern would be driving a rental car on snowy roads, but I would expect the roads would be mostly clear barring some freak snowstorm.
May be worth it to rent 2 one-ways. I know it's generally more expensive to pick up in one place and drop a rental car in a different location, but could save you some dough.
You can rent a SUV for 3 days for like 500$, which would be like 350-400$ (USD) for you including insurance. If there's more than 4 of you, that's pretty cheap for a weekend out of town.
So question about the strip clubs in Montreal... The last time I went was a while ago...and really all we did was pay by song. Are there other options, more private options? Not looking to get tugged off by a stripper....well...maybe. Are there champagne room type experiences? If so, where at?
When is the best time to visit during the summer? I'm talking between May and August? I saw earlier in the thread that F1 is in town sometime in June I think? I also wouldn't want some super large event going on that could drive up price of hotels, clubs, etc.
Don't go to chez Paris unless you want to see some random dude's dick every hour. In public the girls can get fully nude, in private they have to keep clothes on,but you can touch anywhere except between the legs. Went to a more sketchy place the night before and the stripper was more adventurous, but even in the private room with a curtain, the bouncers come by and open them up periodically. If you're looking for a tug, get a nuru massage.
Flying up Thursday. Very excite. I'm the first in the party to arrive so I was planning on dropping my bags off and wandering the city. However, it will be cold as fuck. So instead I need rec for a bar/coffee shop/restaurant near McGill (we're staying at the Omni) to kill some time alone on a weekday afternoon.
Anything down on St Catherine will do. Champ should fill you in. Tremblant weather looks good for Saturday.
I pretty much had the exact opposite experience of everything in this post at Chez Paris. Granted, we had some altered minds, but that was hands down the best strip club experience of my life.
Alright next year, you guys are coming up for the Nuit Blanche. I'll take care of you from the restaurant to the afterpRty. Once a year, Montreal doesn't shut down. Everything stays open all night long, for ghe last day of the highlights festival. If you guys aren't coming in the summer, this is when you have to be here.
We had a blast, but doing 3.5 days to do Tremblant/Montreal was too short. Should have just picked one or the other. Canadians are super friendly, strip clubs were great, skiing was great. 18 year old drinking age can be pretty annoying at bars though.
http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/business/st-hubert-cara-restaurant-chains-1.3516438 How do you guys feel about this?
All my frenchy boys are freaking out over this. My buddy Steve who is francais asked another friend to pick up chicken for his pops. Which meant St Hubert. Well he grabbed Swiss Chalet. Apparently the old man was so pissed off, calling it a betrayal. He wouldn't pay him back for it. Hahah. Really should have a Québécois thread.
Yea I read this on that http://www.vice.com/en_ca/read/queb...ss-chalets-owner?utm_source=munchiestwitterus interesting shit. I guess I get where they're coming from. Not sure what the end game is though.
Don't really care about St-Hubert. It's just a shell of its former self. Tiny portions, dry chicken and high prices. Meh. With so many Portuguese chicken places in town, St-Hubert was pretty low on the list anyway.
