Very nice class. I’d still like someone to explain McCorkle’s ranking after being so highly thought of in the 2021 class.
I saw someone on one of the boards explain it basically boils down to two things: lazy evaluation, and the fact that a performance that would be very impressive from a HS sophomore is not as impressive from a HS junior. Same reason a 19 year old kid and a 21 year old kid with the same current skill level are a lotto pick and a late first rounder, respectively.
Class rankings in bball are kind of dumb because a lot of it depends on how many scholarship you have open. We won't hold it for long but we should finish Top 10, especially when Coleman waits until the spring to commit.
i spent all last year thinking Kelly would step in for OZ, but Bronco said that Reid would be in that role. then went on to explain that the reason they struggled at times to keep Reid active in the offense is because he was out of position.
Also kinda bummed that they're raising the banner at some kind of special event that you have to buy tickets for. Feels kind of like a money grab. I guess ultimately it's accessible to more fans than it would be if we raised the banner at a game against Duke or something where tickets were going to go for $300 get-in price. Also nice that I'm sure they chose that time so that most of the team (and former guys who they've been really good about including) could make it. Okay fine I talked myself into it but still feels better if they raise it before a big game.
Damn thats rough. I also came here to say I saw a video of Kihei dunking (two hands, not some fake technically a dunk) on Instagram. But now I feel bad.
It’s a fundraiser during a massive capital campaign. I also think they priced it appropriately. Another good move by Carla IMO. I assume the midnight madness thing they put on is free of charge, as that is a fan engagement deal aimed at students. They could have had a ceremony at that but I am glad they took the opportunity to raise some money.
Yeah the more I thought about it the more reasonable it seemed. Trying to get my dad to go with me to that and the FSU game on Saturday.
a few tongue in cheek comments about how many people claim they want to go vs. how many people actually bother to. one said he figured the banner would look the same when he came to the JPJ for a game as it will for the hanging ceremony. then a bit of "get used to fundraising folks".
Our LAX team signed 3 of the top 5 players in the country, including #1. We're the Kentucky of lacrosse
Its a very weird feeling going into a football season with real expectations for the first time in over a decade. Even when I was sucked in by the London years, I would have called it more "hope" than "expectation"
Seems like BM likes to use Lambeth for the grass surface quite a bit. It’s nice that it’s there and it keeps the surface at Scott pristine, but man is that an indictment on the current state of facilities at UVA. Hope for the master plan to come together ASAP
I don't remember but thought outdoor at the Smith center was grass and indoor was turf? I would trust some to remember more than me.
So on rivals there are a couple posters saying we will lose 1 more player before the season starts. Anyone on 247 hearing the same? Of course no names but sounding like Badocchi or Stattmann
No one else would make much sense. Everyone else on the team is either established in their role or is a 2019 recruit. I suppose you could throw Caffaro in there if he's going to go play professionally in Europe or something.
first day in full pads. our lineman, rbs, and lbs were wearing an extra cap over the helmet. did we do this last year? i like it
chris peace pressured kyler murray twice on the cards first drive. did not expect to see him so early. awesome
