@SoftFirstTouch Apr 11 1st year under Klopp: Lewandowski 9 goals & 4 assists in 43 competitions. Origi 9 goals and 3 assists in 31 competitions.
That really fucks us if true. I don't see any way around having a midfield with Lucas in it for the Europa games, whether that's a diamond or a 4-2-3-1. I guess we could put Allen and Milner together but Milner was not great last game despite the late game heroics.
I though Milner had a great game outside of his poor corners. Lallana needs to be benched and Firmino needs to be benched also if we play two strikers. Firmino gives the ball away way too easily & misses the easiest passes. So frustrating.
Did you not notice Dortmund sprinting through our midfield all game? He was decent when we were on the attack, but when Dortmund had the ball it was a fire drill. There's a reason Klopp immediately took him out of the central midfield when he got here. Lallana and Firmino are two of our best chance creators, you have to keep one of them in there to help Coutinho out.
Not sure who you're referring two when you say "he". By stats and sheer will and effort, Milner was most peoples MOTM. Lallana and Firmino were poor and Klopp was 100% correct in subbing them both off. Allen over Lallana all day. The first half was a mix of Dortmund's class and Klopp's plan not working. Was very similar to the first legs tactics and line up but it just didn't work. Once Milner went to an attacking role, he was much better. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-4-3-dortmund-player-7758026 http://www.goal.com/en/match/liverpool-vs-borussia-dortmund/2220723/ratings http://www.thisisanfield.com/2016/04/liverpool-4-3-borussia-dortmund-player-ratings/
http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2016/clubs/club=7889/squad/index.html I don't see Stewart listed. Lucas looked a step slow and gave a bunch of cheap fouls away once he came on. He's going to need to step it up vs. Villareal. Interesting we're leading the Prem in scoring since Jan 1st this year and it's getting no press. On the other hand Villareal's defensive record is ridiculous so will be interesting to see what happens.
“We will have to see what the scan shows,” Can told the ECHO. “I twisted my ankle. I hope it’s not too bad but it’s too early to say.” http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/emre-can-liverpool-fc-owe-11194267
That's exactly what I just said. He can't play in the central midfield because he can't defend. He's either on the right side of the front 3 or it doesn't work
He was more of a holding mid than central in the beginning. You have to give credit to BVB. They tore our whole team apart early. Amazing how the game changed when we went 4-4-2.
Hope to somehow scrape past villareal and he can be back for the final. His creativity is really going to be missed
Jurgen doesn't give a fuck Confirmed #LFC starting XI to face @afcbournemouth: Ward, Randall, Toure, Lucas, Smith, Allen, Stewart, Ibe, Ojo, Firmino, Sturridge.
Well, so far he is winning games with it, resting the starters and getting some youth developed in the process. Whether he gives a fuck or not, he is doing what Brenda couldn't do.
Unless we know for certain that we can sign a world class striker, I don't see how you sell him at all.
Ya Ojo looks like he has the potential to be a monster. I can't wait to see how he looks to start next year after Klopp gets a full preseason with him. Wonder if Ojo's emergence means Ibe leaves this summer.
Thought Ibe looked good yesterday. Lots of older Liverpool fans are saying he's looking like a young John Barnes which is quite the comparison. Amazing how quick he is for how strong/muscular he is.
Ya Ibe looked pretty good yesterday but I don't see where he fits going forward. On either side of the midfield 3 you have Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic, Milner and presumably Ojo ahead of him as well as whoever they bring in this summer. I suppose Ibe could go out on loan to a premier league team for a season.
Will be really interesting to see what we do with Markovic. I have no clue how he fits into this team.
You'd think he'd fit perfectly into the right side of the front 3 but who knows. He definitely has the pace that we sorely lack.
But if the Gotze rumors are true, makes no sense. At that, Lallana would be the one who would be taken out by Lazar's introduction which would put Lallana 3rd choice if we get Gotze.
Have to consider the Ousmane Dembele rumor as well. That front 3 is going to get very crowded, one of the reasons I said I wouldn't be surprised if Ibe went away. Klopp re: Markovic back in March “We had a little talk about things. I said at the start of pre-season you will be very welcome and then it’s up to you. “That is how it is in football. It’s a long pre-season and if he wants to come back to Liverpool in July he’s welcome. “We are short on wingers. Everybody who is involved in pre-season can have a part to play next season. We need a big squad because of the European Championships. “Pre-season is a long time to show what you have and then after this we’ll make decisions.”
One thing is for sure, this summer will be one of the most interesting & important windows we've ever had.
Rodney Marsh of Grumpy Pundits dropped a little tidbit this morning. Apparently, someone from the Middle East contacted FSG about purchasing the club for £650M. Might be complete BS, but those guys don't seem to just throw out stuff like that without something to it.
FSG bought LFC for £300 mil, put over £100 mil into the stadium and whatever player fees. So market value is probably close. One reported rumor is that the offer is from the president of the UAE who's related to the owner of Man City.
His info was from the daily mirrors late paper yesterday. Wouldn't imagine FSG selling now. Perfect coach + stadium almost complete will see value of the club soar in the next few years.
Confirmed #LFC team to face @Everton: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino, Origi.

Even though Everton has been shit lately... I was hoping they would field a weaker side with their big game at the weekend.
