I don't think anything will happen until after the Everton match regardless of how bad it is before then
If they lose or draw this weekend you fire Rodgers, let Lijnders take over until you get a new coach in. You can't keep dropping points/having bad performances.
There is still so much to play for this early I would think they will move quickly when they decide it needs to be done.
Why the fuck does nobody think Klopp will get the job when all indications are that he wants to be in the EPL at a decent club?
Which, if true, makes literally 0 sense to me. He seems like he would be EXACTLY what they want in that he can make a team that is greater than the sum of all its parts.
I definitely think there is smoke/fire around him getting sacked, but to speculate on why FSG doesn't like Klopp or others is premature. Will be an interesting next few weeks that's for sure.
For all the good he had with Dortmund, it is noteworthy how poor they were last year when he resigned.
And how they have started this year without him. But I don't watch much German football so I'm sure there were several reasons why they struggled. I know they had absurd amount of injuries.
Check out their injuries from last season http://www.transfermarkt.com/borussia-dortmund/ausfallzeiten/verein/16/saison_id/2014
Also in what would be seen as a down year, they still made it to the final of their league cup and the round of 16 in the Champions league.
To be fair, he had been fairly decimated the last few years with players heading to Munich, etc. Pretty much the same group from last season that took time to gel is in second by two points right now.
Taken as a whole that has to be one of the most confusing to view websites I have seen in a long time. Just so much chaos going on and all jammed in. Once I figured out what was going on it wasn't too bad but upon opening it I immediately thought, "what the hell is going on here?!?"
Basically to start last season they were without their best center back, their left back, right back, both wingers (which includes Reus), and their entire midfield and this is after Lewandoski walked on them and went to Bayern.
Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ 10s10 seconds ago Klopp had previously been a target for John Henry, before Rodgers was appointed in 2012, but did not want to leave Dortmund. (Paul Joyce)
Agree Klopp is the best choice but almost anyone will be at least a short term upgrade on rodgers at this point
“Young Firmino landed awkwardly in the game the other night and there is another scan on his back, but he may have cracked a bone in his back. We’ll see how he’ll be over the coming weeks, but certainly he’ll be unavailable for tomorrow,” Rodgers said.
Deadman walking @AnfieldHQ: Brendan Rodgers has stated he would totally respect FSG if they decided on a change of manager but will not walk away. (Andy Hunter)
Should either Klopp or Ancelotti succeed Rodgers, the current "model” will be gone for good. #lfc (Tony Barrett)
@AnfieldHQ: FSG/Committee have been frustrated at the way Rodgers has deployed signings that they have prioritized - such as Sakho/Markovic. (Barrett) @AnfieldHQ: Rodgers tried to block a move to sign Daniel Sturridge only to backtrack the following January in the wake of pressure from FSG. (Barrett) Fucking hell
No he wouldn't, at worst he'd be a good hire. Yes he's been at clubs that have spent a lot of money but he's won a shitload at those clubs. There are managers at huge clubs that have won fuck all. It's like saying hiring mourinho would be terrible.
Look I'm not saying he's a terrible manager. He and mourinho would both be terrible hires right now though. We need someone who's tactically astute and can build a team. We don't need someone who just makes his players happy and wins on the quality of his squad.
no he's clearly saying that they do well because they build their team with major signings. I'm not sure i totally agree re mourinho. but Ancelotti is indeed that kind of manager imo.
Not defending Ancelotti as I want Klopp, But we could have kept Enrique and Johnson at the back with Lovren and Skrtel, put those two up front with Coutinho behind them and win most games.
Wow, City loses 3 of their last 4. Looked they were going to run away with it this year. So much still to play for, makes me really torn on today.
