Anthony Gerrard @antgerrard86 1h1 hour ago Wow!! Who Iv just heard is getting the Liverpool job Anthony Gerrard @antgerrard86 55m55 minutes ago You wouldn't believe me if I told you, it's that far out of the left field!
Pearce said FSG's Gordon called about an hour after the match to let Rodgers know their decision and Ayre explained the decision in person. Pearce also says Klopp looks to be the obvious choice.
@AnfieldHQ: Rodgers has long held the view he would not realise his ambitions at Liverpool. That the slide to mediocrity is not his fault. (Joyce)
Graeme Kelly on Anfield index tonight again said Klopp going to be the next manager. Anfield index has an app where they put all their different pods. Definitely recommend "the happy hour #15" where they spend a long time breaking down the systems run by Klopp and Ancelotti and how our current roster would fit. Cliffs for Klopp's 4-2-3-1: need a new keeper that can play the ball, need a new rcb to play the subotic role, need a mobile defensive mid to play the bender role, don't have anyone to play the roaming midfield/second striker role of reus. Markovic is the closest thing we have but he's on loan.
Possibly, maybe he just wanted out. Plus they turned him into Firmino, Clyne, and Gomez...pretty good trade
Oh no way he'd get that amount, but there were reports he would have stayed if Rodgers left (huge grain of salt reading anything transfer related).
So the rumors that its Klopp are raging in the papers. Sounds like whatever happens will be done by the end of the week. Maybe we'll at long last see the purchase of a defensive midfielder in January.
Liverpool FC News@LivEchoLFC 15m15 minutes ago #LFC open talks with Jurgen Klopp & there may be an announcement before the end of the week. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/liverpool-fc-open-talks-jurgen-10202152…
May? May? What the fuck is this "may?" The guy on Anfield Index said that the same source that alerted him to the sacking has said that it's for sure Klopp. This same podcaster thought it was Ancelotti up until this source talked to him. Really interesting discussion about the whole scenario on the last podcast about the firing.
Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ 2m2 minutes ago Negotiations with Klopp are being conducted by Ian Ayre, who is liaising closely with John W Henry, Tom Werner and Mike Gordon. (Pearce)
Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ 3m3 minutes ago #LFC signed 30 players under Rodgers. At least 23 of those he was convinced to sign. The other 7 he enthusiastically pleaded for. (Bascombe) So, Allen, Lallana, Lovren, Benteke, Milner, Clyne, Lambert
Only guys I'd say he was right about. Milner only cause he was free. Benteke can change my mind. Really wanted Lallana to be good.
Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ 22s22 seconds ago Jurgen Klopp will become Liverpool manager by the end of this week. #lfc (Paul Joyce) Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ 2m2 minutes ago Klopp indicated he will accept the club’s offer to move to Anfield. #lfc (Chris Bascombe) Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ 1m1 minute ago Klopp’s recruitment now looks a formality with negotiations expected to be completed over the next few days. #lfc (Chris Bascombe)
A coach that has a defense coach on staff and believes in buying defensive midfielders. Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ 2m2 minutes ago Klopp is likely to bring two key members of his staff during his time at Dortmund, Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz with him. (Paul Joyce)
and buvac would explain the yugos actually breaking the story. I always liked rodgers and he brought pool lcloser to a title than they shouldve been but this is a great thing if it happens, hope this also means hummerls and/or reus but that might be too much to ask for.
Klopp: "Wenger likes having the ball, playing football, passes. It's like an orchestra, like a silent song.. I like heavy metal (football)."
He has a lot of respect for Wenger though. The Dortmund-Arsenal matches in CL play were a lot of fun.
Under normal circumstances I'd agree, but he and Klopp are very close. Klopp obviously really values him as part of his system as well.
LFCZA@LFCZA 8h8 hours ago Barrett: There was clashes immediately over #Sturridge (club wanted him, Rodgers wanted Dempsey) LFCZA@LFCZA 8h8 hours ago Barrett: #Rodgers wanted #Allen for 15m but the committee thought he was too expensive. #LFC LFCZA@LFCZA 8h8 hours ago Barrett: #Rodgers' good faith in agreeing to signing #Firmino (committee) was repaid by #LFC meeting #Benteke's clause. LFCZA@LFCZA 8h8 hours ago Barrett: #Sakho's contract renewal was for me the first sign that #Rodgers's time was limited. #LFC
Why the hell didn't they sack him years ago. With a legit manager two years ago we may have nicked the league.
Just realized we spent more on Dejan Lovren than Dortmund did on Kagawa, Subotic, Pisczcek, Schemlzer, Bender, Gundogan, Goetze, and Lewandoski combined.
Apparently there is supposed to be some press conference from LFC at 5pm their time. Been refreshing twitter non-stop to see if I can get an idea of what it is. From what everyone is making it seem it will be an announcement of Klopp though I'm merely expecting them to give formal acknowledgment of the firing of BR and saying a search for the next coach is underway.
