I'm not thrilled with our transfer targets yet but Klopp did wonders at BV so I will give him at least one full season and two legit summer transfer windows before I start stressing too much.
Line up will be interesting. Klopp doesn't like to play two strikers. Sturridge up top which may push Origi/Coutinho out to LW with Mane on the RW & Firmino in the hole. Or he just plays either Sturridge or Origi up top. And anytime Klopp picks Origi, Sturridge will throw a tantrum.
Transfer Centre Live @TransferCentreL 1h1 hour ago Liverpool have accepted £2.5m bids from Norwich City and Bristol City for midfielder Sergi Canos.
I think Klopp prefers Origi to Sturridge which causes a problem because he doesn't like to play two up top.
Interesting to see who's on the way out in the midfield. I dont see a place in the starting 11 for Lucas, Hendo or even Milner if we sign a Dahoud.
If the core of the current squad stays somewhat healthy I'd be ok with this. These new fees will take some getting used to but I really do like Mane as a player. Like most have already said, Klopp has earned his reputation as an eye for talent so not gonna worry too much the next few windows.
I think its safe to say Allen is gone for sure. I think they'll dump Lucas if they can. If not, he may become a 5th choice center back (it worries me a little we for sure only have 2.5 center backs right now). I think Hendo and Milner become solid squad players (along with Lallana). Will be interesting to see if Markovic gets sold.
Signing Dahoud would almost make me forget about signing a LB that wouldn't take Moreno's place... Almost.
Klopp: I'd been tracking Liverpool new boy Sadio Mane for years http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ews/klopp-id-been-tracking-liverpool-11538335

Cant really compare value when Utd have unlimited funds and we don't. Mkhitarian (sp?) is clearly the more experienced player but is more central. Mane is a wide player. Mane's scoring record is better but the Austrian league is kinda a joke so hard to tell pre-southhampton.
Gotta stop saying this. I've listened to and read a lot about Mane from Southampton fans and they all say he's not a wide player. He may start wide but drifts inside and is at his best playing almost as a secondary striker. Liverpool play a pretty interchangeable front 3 midfielders so I'm not saying this is a negative but people shouldn't expect Mane to be a traditional wing player. Like he's not a faster James Milner that just runs up and down the flank and fires in crosses.
Do you consider Raheem a wide player when he was here? Started wide and attacked towards goal. Do you want attacking wide players to only be on the touch line?
Sterling was not a winger when he was at Liverpool. He played more as the tip of the diamond under Rodgers.
Usually when people talk about wide players they mean people that provide width down the flanks. Take on opposing full backs, not play through the middle of the field
No he didn't, he does play that role for city now and is not good at it, hence his shitty season. Liverpool lined up with Suarez and Sturridge up top, Sterling behind, coutinho and hendo behind him and Gerrard at the base of the diamond. That's when they were killing teams
Mane is the same. Either a LW or RW in 4-3-3 and out wide on left or right on 4-2-3-1. He can play on the left or right.
You really are watching another player. He played left side attack for us, city and the national team. The only time he was central was when he drifted in.
His season got off to the perfect start, as a well-taken goal at home to Southampton, the Reds’ first Premier League strike of the season, helped Brendan Rodgers‘ side to a 2-1 win on the opening weekend. The young attacker then performed superbly away to Tottenham two weeks later, scoring his team’s opener in an emphatic 3-0 win, in a central role behind the strikers in a 4-4-2 diamond. http://www.thisisanfield.com/2015/06/raheem-sterling-201415-season-review/
Mostly yes but we went without Suarez for large stretches of 13/14 and Sturridge kept the level of play up.
This is retarded. Mane is a left sided attacking midfielder as is sterling. Arguing otherwise is you with your head in the sand.
