Those are the kinds of points we haven't gotten the past couple seasons. Doesn't have to be pretty every game.
I wonder what the plan is for Ings. I would assume cup games are probably his best bet, at this point?
I'm assuming Lallana will not start as well. So Coutinho drops deeper with Can and Hendo? Firmino moves wide and Sturridge comes in?
Coutinho played around 75' vs Venezuela and firmino didn't play. I hate that we have to wait until Monday but maybe a good thing for our Brazilians.
My only concern is that's Mourinho is going to just park the bus. If he attacked us I wouldn't feel confident we will win. But we are going to have to break them down and that's when we've struggled. Fear it's going to end in a draw.
Of course he is. They'll sit back and try to score on a set piece with Fellani, Pogba, Ibra. Just hope we score first or its going to be ugly.
Just sitting on it way too long. Kinda like Lallana earlier this season (though they play different positions), just slows down the attack once he gets it.
Matip is the signing of the season. Amazing how well he's doing being thrown into the fire with shit goalkeepers behind him.
Imagine how low it would have been if we started Lallana. I was disappointed in the first 15 minutes of the match. Felt like they had more possession than us early. I'm not sure what the actual numbers were for that stretch but it really felt like we were in trouble.
Actually they didn't have much of the ball the first half. I re-watched it last night and around 25' in, possession was 65% Liverpool v 35% Manc. It was just that we were passing in our own half due to their pressure rather than them having the ball.
Watching him for England and then for us, it just seems like a different player. He looks so off beat with us. Slow to get on his run, no continuation, seems to get frustrated every chance he gets. I love Sturbridge, but that's fading fast.
I loved him at first but he is starting to annoy me at times. Maybe I am only noticing what I want to notice so I could be wrong but I feel like he doesn't really try unless the ball is coming to him or near him. And if it doesn't work out he gets frustrated and works less. I can't imagine that sitting well with JK.
i think origi is more effective at this point if we play a true striker than sturridge. Need more just to break open games when down in the last few minutes
