Id be upset but there's other players I'd be much more upset if we sold. Sissoko was pretty crappy from January until the final day
Yea but you'd like to think a guy who plays for France and is a proven quality player he could put in more than one good shift in a 4 month span
i like the chatter. Definitely helps our song game. We've got the best midfield in the world We've got Adam lallana, moussa sissoko, Can and Coutinhoooo
I'm so interested to see what formation Rodgers plans on playing. I think our best formation is a 4-4-2 diamond but suspect he's going to go back to the 4-2-3-1.
There was a European analyst on XMFC the other day talking about Rodgers and the moves he has made, lead him to favoring a 4-4-2 Diamond this season. This guy played for him at some point.
To me, our best 11 as it stands now (assuming Sterling is gone) is Clyne-Skrtel/Ilori-Sakho-Moreno Can Hendo-Coutinho Firmino Balotelli-Sturridge If Balotelli goes, I'd like to see Markovic get a look at secondary striker. There would be a ton of speed on the field. The problem is I think Rodgers is going to try to force Milner into our starting 11 and I just don't know where he fits.
I think the lack of a reliable second striker will lead more toward the 4-2-3-1 mentioned earlier. That said we could probably do a 4-3-2-1 with coutinho and firmino behind the striker. Milner will start. Rodgers probably guaranteed playing time as part of the deal to bring him in.
4-3-2-1 is interesting with Can behind Hendo and Milner and Coutinho and Firmino ahead of them in a box midfield. I just don't want a scenario where Coutinho and Firmino are pushed out wide and their talent is wasted like happened with Sterling being pushed out wide all of the time last year.
Maybe it's just me but I don't think Balotelli was the problem last year. He wasn't the solution either but he wasn't ever used right IMO.
Benteke is trying to force his way out of Villa. This is seriously following the Lallana/Lovren path perfectly. Can't wait until we pay 28 million to land him.
This Is Anfield @thisisanfield 2h2 hours ago Luis Alberto makes loan move to Deportivo La Coruna Balo on compassionate leave due to death of his adoptive father.
Milner is an upgrade on Joe Allen, but he's not in our best 11. As it stands, seems like Clyne is the only true upgrade to our starting 11.
Borini is a clown. Rejects a move to Lazio because he wants to stay in England. Should have never rejected Sunderland then!!
This Is Anfield @thisisanfield 6m6 minutes ago Raheem Sterling expected on Liverpool’s pre-season tour as Man City interest stalls.
Jay Riley@Jay_78_ 33s34 seconds ago Javier Manquillo loan deal terminated by #LFC & he will return to Atletico Madrid So I guess Wisdom is going to be our back up right back? Enrique left? This move makes no sense.
I really want to know why that didn't work. Just so bizarre. Also, are we all ok with Sterling staying? I mean, I guess if we have the money..sure?
Liverpool is going to have in the neighborhood of 55 games next season. Our back up right back should probably be starting 8-10 of those games. Clyne has played in about 70 games total the last 2 years. Rodgers is going to need to learn how to rotate players or this is going to be another tough year.
I heard on taw pod that there may be a clause in his contract. Something like if he played 20 or 25 games he stayed here another year. Would explain a lot. I understand all the sterling bs and get why people want him gone but put him in this squad and he will flourish. More goals, more wins and Champions League might change his mind about liverpool.
Our shitty strikers cumulatively had 42 goals the year before joining LFC (10 Borini, 18 Balotelli, 14 Lambert).
Sounds like something a 10 year old would do after getting reamed by his coach in youth soccer. Going to crack up if City passes after all this behavior, but would rather they just take 45-50M and move on. Raheem Sterling absent as he phones in sick for Liverpool training on Wednesday Raheem Sterling‘s attempts to force through a move away from Liverpool took another embarrassing turn on Wednesday, with the forward absent from training. The Raheem Sterling transfer saga took another turn for the worse for Liverpool supporters as the 20-year-old failed to turn up for training on Wednesday. Sterling is reported to have phoned in sick for the Reds’ pre-season preparations. James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo writes: “The wantaway winger, who is trying to force through a move to Manchester City, told staff he was too ill to train. “The news comes less than 24 hours after it emerged that Sterling has reiterated to Brendan Rodgers his desire to leave and told the manager he doesn’t want to be included in the squad for the forthcoming tour of the Far East and Australia. “Liverpool declined to comment but normal procedure in these circumstances is that they will send club medical staff around to the player’s house to do an assessment.” As Pearce mentions, Sterling has told the club that he wishes to remain in England while the Reds travel to Thailand to begin their pre-season tour on Tuesday. Premier League rivals Manchester City hold a strong interest in the former Queens Park Rangers forward. It is believed that Liverpool will include Sterling in their tour plans, but a bid of £50 million from City could change things—this would meet the club’s valuation. Sterling’s attempts to engineer a move away from Merseyside have slipped from understandable to wholly embarrassing. The lack of decorum shown by the player and his representative is a miserable indictment of modern football. Liverpool are said to be lining up a move for Barcelona winger Pedro in the event of Sterling’s departure, with Real Madrid’s Denis Cheryshev also linked with a move to Anfield.
I'm sure he will get his pay docked if they find he is not ill. I would tell him to be ready for the tour and provide a copy of the U21 schedule if he isn't.
