Gonçalo Lopes @_GoncaloLopes 9m9 minutes ago Otamendi already in Manchester doing his medicals. #MCFC #Valencia
guess it never hurts to have more players but I was hoping Denayer would be the man Otamendi seems legit though. I know United wanted him bad.
Realistically he was the 4th CB this year so if Demi is sold nothing changes for him, if he is loaned Demi falls to 4th and Denayer gets hopefully regular playing time
KDB transfer has reached saga status after the "incident" today. Guess his agent is throwing a hissy fit about some questions that were asked to KDB in German. It might finally tip the transfer towards City.
#sketch MCFC Info @MCFClnfo 3m3 minutes ago Denayer's agent: "2 weeks ago City wanted him not to go. That would still say they believe in him. But this should not take too long." MCFC Info @MCFClnfo 4m4 minutes ago Denayer's agent: "They had promised us that no more defenders of that calibre (Otamendi) would come. That does worry me.”
If we don't pay them the full amount and just wipe away the Negredo money what a fucking steal. @City_Watch: Valencia owe City £20m+ for Negredo it is reported. Unclear if that makes Otamendi a '£10m deal' or if it isn't that simple. Time will tell. @City_Watch: Plaza Deportiva: Mangala refused to leave on loan for Valencia when asked and is confident he can keep Otamendi out of City's best XI. @City_Watch: Denayer's agent: "They had promised us that no more defenders of that calibre would come. That does worry me." @City_Watch: Denayer's agent: "For now, we do not panic. Two weeks ago City wanted him absolutely not let go."
@City_Watch: Denayer's agent: "If he is to sit on the bench or in the stands, he leaves. That’s an agreement we have with the club." (quotes: MEN)
Guillem BalagueVerified account @GuillemBalague Otamendi all done with City. €45m and a 5 year contract. No loan deal with a City player included.
Sky Sports, guy is right more times than he is wrong, but considering it would be 25 and we got rid of of the wages we would be paying for Negredo's lifeless corpse, wouldn't even be mad.
I mean that's the number we've been throwing out all along. €45m is about £31.5 and his release clause is £32.5 If we wipe away the Negredo debt instead of paying them and them still owing us we got maybe the best CB in La Liga last season for Negredo + £10m. That is pretty laughable but not on our end
It would be hard to top the 12/13 window when we brought in that amazing haul though Spoiler Rodwell Sinclair Garcia Maicon Nastasic
Otamendi has been hit or miss so far imo. He had a great season & resurgence last year, but he was loaned out to Atletico Miniero when Valencia bought him and subsequently dropped from the Argentina World Cup 14 squad. I think he's a late bloomer though and has good chemistry with Mangala and Zabaleta.
I think a season here as a sub learning and training with Demichelis and Zabaleta would be good then next season we go by form for the CBs If Mangala struggles in the mean time then we could put him in and then we've always got Demi if need be
That was certainly a fun transfer. Going from the Mangala loan plus cash to no loan and straight cash. It will be interesting to see where Denayer goes on loan now. Maybe now they can get the KDB deal done before the end of the window
Sagna actually has been pretty good. I'm 90% sure it has to do with cutting those fucking braids out so he doesn't look like a 14 year old in Cancun on spring break all the time.
Hart, Sagna, Kompany (C), Mangala, Kolarov, Toure, Fernandinho, Navas, Sterling, Silva, Aguero Caballero, Denayer, Demichelis, Delph, Nasri, Iheanacho, Bony
Really would like one before half. Navas and Sagna have been doing a lot of damage down the right but nothing to show for it so far. Frustrated no one crashed towards goal on Yayas ball across
