It's a movie that I think people are going to either love or hate. It looks awesome but possibly a little too out there even for this universe. I'm looking forward to it, though.
Anyone read any of the Ta-Nehisi Coates run on Black Panther? I just read the first issue and thought it was solid.
Lupita revealed the gist of the Black Panther story after the SDCC panel: "The story of this Black Panther - what I am allowed to say - is that Black Panther's leadership has been threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy." So excited for this movie.
The Thor mockumentary shown sounds hilarious and is completely Taika Watiti's style Spoiler Director Taika Waititi shot a documentary short that featured Thor living down in Australia with a guy named Daryl Jacobsen, in a small apartment. He’s wearing board shorts, sitting around not doing much in a cheap apartment. Daryl has some difficulty vacuuming around Mjolnir sitting in the middle of the floor. We also get to see Thor volunteering at an elementary school, asking them to identify poor drawings of The Avengers. Thor is surprised that the kids know who “the purple weirdo” is in the line-up. But easily the best part about this little short are the letters that Thor dictates for Daryl to send to Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. Thor writes to Tony, “How’s it going? Remember that time you created the possessed robot that nearly destroyed Earth? That was funny.” Then to Steve Rogers he writes, “Do you remember when I goaded you into killing those prisoners and you made me swear not to tell the other Avengers? I haven’t told them yet.” Thor shows us his bedroom that tells Daryl to “keep out” in Asgardian. Inside his room we find Thor’s costume hanging up near his window. And next to his bed is a tiny bed with Mjolnir all tucked in. Then on the wall there’s a homemade, crafty chart trying to explain what Infinity Stones are. It looks like he’s investigating a crime. Asks who the purple man in the chair is, notes he doesn’t like to stand and has a magic glove. It’s not all business though as there’s also a drawing of Mjolnir wearing sunglasses and holding a Thor action figure. Easily the best part though is when Thor hangs out with Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), and he learns that Tony Stark has been contacting Banner really frequently, asking him to join his side in Civil War. But Stark doesn’t feel the need to talk to Thor on the phone at all. Tony says he’ll call Thor another time, but the God of Thunder reminds him he doesn’t have a phone, so he should call a raven.
Will The Eternals be featured in Thor: Ragnarok? We already saw a glimpse of their creators, The Celestials in Guardians of the Galaxy, so it's not completely outside the realm or possibility. During Ragnarok's sizzle reel last night, multiple fans in attendance are reporting that they saw what they believe to be The Eternals cut among the footage. There was reportedly a throne room scene with multiple deity-looking figures with armor very reminiscent of the designs Jack Kirby first created for the race of superhumans resultant from prehistoric experiments by The Celestials on early human life.
"The story of this Black Panther is- what am I allowed to say? – The story is that the Black Panther’s leadership is really threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy," Nyong'o revealed. So, it's now become clear that Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger will have some backup, and common sense says that's probably going to be Andy Serkis' Ulysses Klaw. That's far from confirmed as of right now though, so who knows! The C.I.A. team-up meanwhile is surprising, but explains Everett Ross' role.
Kevin Feige on baby Groot's memories: "He remembers. He’s not mentally a baby, he is still Groot… I sort of equate it to Spock circa the end of Search for Spock and The Voyage Home." As for the relationship between Rocket and Groot, he added: "When it comes to a Guardians of the Galaxy film, a James Gunn script, it’s not just about the funny, it’s not just about the action, it’s about the heart. And the amount of heart that you get out of this trash panda raccoon and now this little twig baby Groot is actually awe-inspiring. It is amazing what he’s done with those two."
So says Disney: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is new title of previous AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART I – previously announced date of 5/4/18 remains. So says Disney: UNTITLED AVENGERS is temporary title of previously titled AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART II. The 5/3/19 release date remains.
I had the same thought. Thanos wrecks shit in part 1, kills cap, etc. Then part 2 could be "Avengers Assemble".
I'm guessing Thanos is just in the cosmos during almost all of Infinity War collecting whatever Infinity Stones are out there and diving into his relationship with Death. Then him coming to Earth is the cliffhanger leading into Avengers 4.
Just read this in an article, would be interesting with the Spider man storyline Spoiler Did Winter Soldier kill Peter Parker's parents? This little detail was easy to miss, but the fact that one of the Hydra code words used to control the Winter Soldier was "homecoming" could have big implications. Given that the other code words seem to correlate to events in the Winter Soldier's life (like "freight car" referencing his supposed death in Captain America: The First Avenger), it's probably no coincidence that "homecoming" is also the subtitle of next year's Marvel-produced Spider-Man film. So what role could the Winter Soldier play in Spider-Man's origin story? Consider this: in the comics, Peter Parker's parents were S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who were killed while on a covert mission. Makes you think, huh? Read More: http://www.looper.com/14788/superheroes-villains-beaten-superman/?utm_campaign=clip
No. In fact I'm almost positive that the idea that Homecoming was a Spider-man easter egg was debunked by either the writers or directors of Civil War.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Here's why S.H.I.E.L.D. has a new director Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Posted August 2 2016 — 4:32 PM EDT Wondering why Coulson is no longer the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Ever since the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finale jumped ahead six months and revealed that Coulson (Clark Gregg) is an agent again, fans have wondered who would replace him and why he needed replacing. In the wake of the news that Jason O’Mara has been cast as the new director, ABC has released a logline for the fourth season that reveals the why: In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director (Jason O’Mara) to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack (Henry Simmons), and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. They have been trying to track down and capture Daisy (Chloe Bennet), aka Quake, who has gone rogue in an attempt to atone for sins from the past. But with the world believing that Daisy is a dangerous outlaw who has taken down banks and bridges, the new Director has no qualms about taking her down for good. Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) have taken a big step forward in their relationship. But with Simmons’ new promotion as Special Advisor to the Director in Science and Technology, Fitz, as well as her former team members, finds it hard to confide in or trust her since she’s now the Director’s confidant. Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) will roar into the lives of Agent Coulson and the team as a junkyard mechanic who can turn on a dime into the terrifying Ghost Rider. Will Robbie be a friend or foe to S.H.I.E.L.D. – as well as the world, itself? Meanwhile, Fitz discovers that socially awkward genius and friend Dr. Radcliffe (John Hannah) has started putting the finishing touches on a new, secret invention.
Lol burn it down and start over... http://www.slashfilm.com/simon-kinberg-star-wars-x-men/ “I’m a lifer for the X-Men movies,” Kinberg said. “I’m just working now, without giving anything away, I’m figuring out what the next of the mainline X-Men movies is going to be.”
Gambit update Spoiler Over the course of the past two decades, the X-Menfranchise has experienced its fair share of ups and downs. Marvel’s original big-screen super team, has quietly been crafted into an expansive cinematic universe complete with mutant teams, prequels, and solo spin-offs. However, there have been plenty of bumps along the way. After setting the template for how to adapt a superhero story with X-Menand X2 in 2000 and 2003, the franchise faltered with a series of disappointing releases. With the latest release, X-Men: Apocalypse, 20th Century Fox finds itself at another crossroads with the franchise. It follows their biggest comic book movie hit ever, Deadpool, which grossed nearly $800 million dollars, on a meager $50 million dollar production budget. So the studio is thinking very carefully about their next new character to get a solorelease, specifically Gambit. The long in-development project has Channing Tatum attached as a producer and to star as the Cajun thief, Remy LeBeau a.k.a. Gambit. Meanwhile, producer Simon Kinberg is overseeing the entire X-Men universe for Fox and masterminding exactly how the universe will expand in the near future. It’s no secret that theGambit project has had a rocky beginning including lost directors, actors, and conflicts with the lead, that has made many people lose faith that the film will ever be made. Kinberg addressed the tough pre-production in a recent interview with /Film: “I think the truth is when you have these movies that need a very special and unique tone, it takes a little while to find that tone. Deadpool feels like it exploded out of nowhere but it was a ten-year development process on that movie. I think it was honed over those 10 years. I hope that Gambit doesn’t take 10 years but it takes a little honing to get that tone and that voice exactly right. The character has such a specific voice in the comic in the same way that Deadpool has a specific voice in the comic, that we want to make sure that we capture that voice on the page. Really it’s just about getting a screenplay that is worthy of that character and I think we’re really close right now.” The success of Deadpool can be attributed to many more factors than simply its R-rating. Most important of them was the filmmaker’s ability to translate the unique tone, comedy, and perspective of the comic book onto the big screen. The result was a movie that not only felt fresh, but also one that felt necessary and relevant due to its distinctive outlook. Kinberg explains that they are trying to take the same type of patience and care to create an authentic adaptation of Gambit as well. While Gambit isn’t as popular of a character as Deadpool in the comics, he does have nearly as many idiosyncrasies and personality quirks that can set him apart from the pack. Many have questioned the need for Fox to make an entire movie focused on Gambit. Kinberg’s quote does shed a little light on why he has become such a high priority for the studio. Their last release, X-Men: Apocalypse, received mixed reviews with most critics seeming exhausted by a plot that felt formulaic and familiar. However, Gambit definitely has a unique viewpoint and history within the world of the X-Men. Lebeau has his roots as a Louisiana thief, who doesn’t begin as an inherently heroic figure, which would open up a whole corner of the X-Men universe that has yet to be explored. While the superhero genre seems to be as strong as ever at the box-office. Audiences are demanding authentic and trend-setting takes on their characters, not simply rehashes of what has come before. Hopefully, Kinberg and company have an approach to Gambit that will make the wait worth it for eager superhero fans.
