Gambit needs to be dark, and I would like it if they used a season 1 of True Detective scenery and backdrop for scenes.
Steve Rogers is Captain America no more. Though many assumed this would be the case after the character decided to leave his shield and costume behind following that brutal scrap with Tony Stark towards the end of Captain America: Civil War, the film's directors (well, one of 'em) have now made it official. "I think him dropping that shield is him letting go of that identity," said Joe Russo when asked to clarify Rogers' position during an interview with The Huffington Post. "[It’s] him admitting that certainly the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making." Of course it's highly likely he'll return to the mantle for Avengers: Infinity War, but it is possible we'll find him living his life as plain ol' Steve Rogers when the events of that movie kick off - or will he be going by another identity altogether? Nomad, perhaps?
But someone has to pick up the shield...and the way Civil War unfolded, it doesn't really seem like Bucky is the right person for it either.
All of the known Caps that have been introduced in the MCU are either on the run with Cap or is currently frozen.
There won't be a Cap. Steve will be in the background and stay out of it when things are starting in IW. Thanos will come in and wreck shit and Steve will pick the shield back up and start the road to defeating Thanos.
Baby Groot gets the infinity gauntlet, it works like the master sword (probably) and he becomes Vin Diesel Groot again
What Captain America 3 Could Have Been Without Robert Downey Jr. Before Marvel Studios made their big Phase 3 announcement, rumors had already started to circulate as to what movies could be moving into production soon. That initial schedule has changed quite a bit from including Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man and the Wasp, to having an alternate title for the fourth Avengers movie and removing Inhumans from the release calendar. Even at the panel itself Marvel made a change. Before revealing the would be official title Captain America: Civil War, the initial announcement had Serpent Societybeing the subtitle. The ultimate sticking point for fans getting Civil War instead of Serpent Society was Robert Downey Jr. agreeing to extend his Marvel contract for another appearance. If that had not happened, Marvel Studios and the Russo brothers would have had to make a different movie. As they have recently revealed, a third act with zombie-like antagonists was once on the table. During an interview to promote the upcoming Blu-Ray/DVD release of Civil War, EW had the chance to talk to the directors about alternative stories that were considered for the third Captain America movie. Instead of having Cap and Bucky faceoff against Tony in the final battle like fans saw, the concept of using Madbombs was once on the table. These bombs would have infected nearby citizens, giving them a zombie-like persona but filled with rage instead of hunger, as explained by Anthony: “There was a period where we did discuss a third act that revolved around the Madbomb from Cap mythology. It didn’t have anything to do with Civil War, and if we couldn’t get Downey – in the very, very early conversations before we nailed him – somebody pitched the idea of a third-act that revolved around the Madbomb, which makes people crazy. It almost like zombifies them – but not literally.” Even though this was not the choice that ultimately made it into the movie, the directors thought that a third act featuring Cap versus a miniature army of deranged people would have been an exciting challenge for him to take on. Imagine the elevator fight in Captain America: The Winter Soldier but in a bigger area and more foes. Ultimately, the battle he ended up facing against one man was a more difficult fight both physically and emotionally. But the other aspect that interested them was Cap fighting regular people, not necessarily bad guys, explained Joe: “The notion of the Madbomb would have been Cap having to fight civilians and how he would he handle that. We were always trying to put him into these interesting moral conundrums because of his nature. That would have made a compelling third act because if civilians are the antagonists, how could he stop them without killing them?” The concept of a hero fighting civilians has not yet been explored on the big screen, but maybe Marvel could bring the concept back for a future movie. In fact, they already have some world building done for it. One of the final threats that Peggy Carter stopped in season 1 of Agent Carter was the release of Madbombs throughout New York City. If it is ever brought back, the similarities of Peggy and Cap fighting against the same threat decades apart would be very cool to see on screen. Captain America: Civil War will be released in Digital HD on September 2nd and on 3-D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, and Digital SD September 13.
"The concept of a hero fighting civilians has not yet been explored on the big screen, but maybe Marvel could bring the concept back for a future movie." This is why you're the director and not the writer, Joe.
Now I really just want to see a What We Do In the Shadows version of Avengers. Just the team goofing around for 90 minutes.
Stephen Lang Wants to Play Cable, But Hasn’t Been Asked The post-credit scene for Deadpool was essentially the final joke he makes about the state of comic book movies, but even then Ryan Reynolds, Tim Miller, and crew allowed themselves to follow suit with what many of the others have done. While taking a page from Ferris Bueler’s Day Off and poking fun at other big blockbusters, Deadpool could not stop himself from making an announcement about his own sequel. His final tease was the announcement that when Deadpool 2 hit theaters, Cable would be one of the new additions to the cast. Deadpool himself suggested Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, and Keira Knightly for the role, but the Internet has had different people in mind. Among the prototypical lists of who should play the role, Stephen Lang has been one name consistently high on everyone’s lists. Lang himself has already expressed interest in the rolebefore, but throughout all the hype and questioning, the Avatar actor has now confirmed that he has not actually had any meetings for the role yet. Lang recently spoke to Mashable to promote his new movie Don’t Breathe, but that did not keep the topic away from him potentially playing the time traveling anti-hero. Lang himself at times has seemed to campaign for the role of Cable through playful wording on social media, but that has not seemed to get him very far in landing the role. As of this moment, he has not yet met with 20th Century Fox about the role, but continues to express interest if they happened to come calling: Oh sure, I was a fan of the first Deadpool and I’d be delighted to be a part of that sequel, but I haven’t spoken to anyone about it. It kept cropping up on the internet that I should play Cable. The extent of what I did was, one day I was in the gym and I tweeted, “let’s lay some Cable,” and that became construed as my campaign for the part. Even now, if someone does fan art, I’ll retweet it because I like keeping it alive. It’s the same studio as Avatar, but I don’t know if that makes it easier or more difficult logistically. Either way, no one has approached me, and I can’t even say if I’m in the actual conversation. But they must be aware of it, because whoever makes those decisions must be aware of everything. Plus, I think I’d do a pretty bang-up job with the part. Having said that, understand that my obligation is to the largest, most successful film ever made, so Avatar takes precedence. Lang is likely not wrong in thinking Fox knows people are interested in seeing him as Cable. After all, this is the same studio that decided to green light Deadpool after the Internet seemingly demanded it after the test footage “leaked.” If he is chosen, Lang would provide the franchise with a guy who is recognizable enough to possibly bring in a few more people, but does not give them the options to franchise him out anytime soon. Cable’s introduction in Deadpool 2 is likely just the beginning for the character in Fox’s X-Menuniverse. There have already been reports of their desire to make an X-Force movie, and Cable is certainly necessary to make that happen. He is the leader of the team after all and although Deadpool would probably appear in some capacity, he has his own line of movies to work on. Lang is a solid actor who could certainly look the part based on past fan art, but at 64 years old and four Avatar sequels on his slate, he may not be looking to lock himself into more long term contracts.

If you're worried that Luke Cage might not live up to Daredevil and Jessica Jones, don't be - the first round of reviews for the first seven hours of Marvel and Netflix's latest are overwhelmingly positive. Collider awards the show 5 stars, singling star Mike Colter out for the most praise, while ComicsBeat hails LC as "Marvel's best television effort yet". 411Mania and Den of Geek are also huge fans - though the latter does take issue with certain elements.
I'm surprised. I thought he was a good supporting player in JJ but I didn't think he had enough of a compelling story to justify his own show. I'll watch it and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.
