So where do I need to start reading to catch up on the big Captain America reveal? This is one of the ballsiest moves I can think of.
I stopped reading Marvel and DC a while back so I'm not 100% on this but I don't think there was a lead in
Yeah I have a feeling this Cap thing is just a publicity stunt and it will be revealed later that he's not what they're teasing him to be.
That said they've been planning it for 2 years. I know ultimately some reset gets pressed, but it will be interesting how long they go with the arch.
I may be retarded or was just giggle-drunk while watching and missed it, but I found a plot hole in Deadpool? Gina Carano gets carried off by Colossus during the collapse of the big thingy, then goes.... nowhere? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
So when that happens are we going to get everything all at once, or will they stagger the titles being available.
I suppose we can spoil that without putting it in a spoiler block... Marvel has revealed that Cap is now and always has been an agent of Hydra, making him the greatest double agent ever. They insist this is not a clone, or an imposter, or mind control or any other trick. This is the real and true Steve Rogers, of sound mind and body, and he is really and truly a Hydra double-agent. My theory: He's a Steve Rogers, from another universe and will become an enemy of Sam's Captain America character, possibly culminating in the Steve Rogers we know (from his universe) returning to do battle with him. People are pissed worse than when DC decided to kill Superman because they had to stall time before Lois and Clark got married on ABC. Marvel is basically laughing all the hatred off and insist that this will not be retconned later (yeah...right). They also say it's been in the works for a couple years now, going back to the beginnings of the Secret Wars story line.
don't know why people get so worked up about changes in the comics. Just wait a little bit and they'll be retconning the whole thing anyway. Use it as a chance to read something else for a while. of course, that's also a big reason I was never able to really get into reading the comics. I need some consistency/continuity.
Whoaaaaaaaa! Vin Diesel is the voice actor for Groot!? Really just a cute movie. Rocket getting mad about being called a vermin and a rodent was great, Groot killing like 27 guys and then turning and smiling at Star-Lord was the moment of the movie, seeing Thanos and hearing a bit about him was fun, and Pratt was pretty awesome in his role. Marvel does comedy really well within this most serious of comic universes. The muscle guy that never wears a shirt, I laughed when he said, "This man is an imbecile" after Star-Lord stole the Walkman.... And, taking everything literally. Fun and awesome movie- probably 5th or 6th for me in the Marvel Uni., but I see why people adore it
I think when you've had like 6,000 comic books and however many universes, something that grabs a headline is priceless.
If you didn't smile at dancing little Groot (as well as get sad when he died) I question your humanity.
Literally everyone at my theater viewing cried at "We are Groot", like hands covering gasping mouths crying.
I hate them. I routinely interrupt my aunt during tense moments in movies stating that "I hope so and so dies." Easiest troll on earth. Usually she follows up with "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL!"
Re: Cap Hydra - Some people think it's Perlmutter trying to fuck with the MCU which doesn't really make sense. I think it's just comics always doing stuff like this for shock value. It's part of the reason I stopped reading all Marvel and DC.
The two entities are so far apart now, the comics couldn't do anything to bother the MCU if they made Bucky and Cap gay. Spoiler Someone check on Shocker in a fear hours
Wait, are they not already in the MCU? Oh, it had some moments from the very start that kicked me in the feels... His mother, Groot, man even Rocket having hurt feels made me sad because he's a cute little guy, and then Rocket saying "but you'll die" I was like oh wow my heart hurts. Him planting a piece of Groot in a little pot is the most adorable thing I've seen this week.
They need a new voice. Bring in Matthew Vaughn. Singer is basically M. Knight Shyamalan at this point. Had one great movie and getting work off of that. He bores me.
My rankings: X2>DOFP>First Class>Apocalypse>Xmen I refuse to even acknowledge the Ratner bullshit. I'm not a huge fan of First Class. Apocalypse may overtake it once I see it it in IMAX
