Marvel has just announced that a sequel to Ant-Man -"Ant-Man And The Wasp" - will be with us on July 6, 2018. Clearly this means an expanded role for Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne, since she gets title space with Paul Rudd's diminutive superhero.

As the site points out, this will mark the the first Marvel Studios film to be named after its heroine. But what about Captain Marvel you may ask? Well, unfortunately this means that movie will be pushed back to March 8, 2019, while Black Panther has moved forward to February 16, 2018.

That's not all: Marvel has also announced that 3 untitled films will premiere on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020. Speculate away in the usual place!

Thor is actually not until 2017, just before Infinity War. GotG2 is before it. Doctor Strange, too.

Get the other side of Marvel Movies(X-Men, DP, Gambit, FF{is that still happening?} and Spiderman) between.

    The official Apocalypse synopsis

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-Men: Apocalypse, opening in theaters everywhere May 27, 2016. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Creative control of the standalones will be done by Marvel. Sony just has to co-produce, advertise, and distribute basically.

Is Marvel Planning to Scrap Their ‘Inhumans’ Movie?

With New York Comic Con underway, all the who’s-whos of the comicbook world are schmoozin’ and boozin’, and apparently sharing big secrets. According to a report at Bleeding Cool, in the wake of the recent schedule changes to accommodate the Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, the folks over at Marvel are planning to retool their schedule even further and drop a major title off the roster completely. Which title? The Inhumans, and that…actually makes some sense.

I’m naturally skeptical of things said in bars. I’m even more skeptical about things said in bars by people who work for a notoriously private company. However, Marvel Studios recently underwent a massive shakeup that saw the dissolution of the Marvel creative committee and a critical restructuring in the chain of command. Mainly, MCU mastermind Kevin Feige no longer reports to Marvel head Ike Pulmutter. Instead, Fiege reports directly to Disney, a divorce of power that was supposedly borne out of Pulmutter’s notorious stinginess. However, Perlmutter still maintains oversight of Marvel’s TV group, publishing, animation, and other New York-based operations, and Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel TV, continues to report to Perlmutter.

It was widely speculated that this move would lead to a further divide between Marvel TV and Marvel film, which have remained distant since the start of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. despite the occasional crossover. If that were the case, Inhumans would be a natural point of contention. The Inhumans were introduced at the end of Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s second season, play a critical role in the current season, and are likely to remain a major component in the coming years. Indeed, the report states that it was the TV end that pushed to cancel the movie given how much time, marketing and story they’ve invested in establishing the saga of the Inhumans.

From the film side of things, I can’t honestly see a world where Fiege wouldn’t get Inhumans if he wanted the Inhumans, but with everything the MCU already has going for it, and the wealth of IP to chose from, it could very well not be something he sees as essential to Phase 3 and 4. And if Marvel TV and Marvel Film are looking to head their separate ways, canceling The Inhumans movie would make a very clear statement.

Even though the pieces seem to add up, this is all conjecture for now, hinged on a lot of very big ifs. For now, the Inhumans movie is set for a July 12th, 2019 release. What do you guys think? Would you be sad to see the Inhumans movie scraped? Do you think Marvel TV and Marvel Film will continue to grow apart? Sound off in the comments below.

That Inhumans report has been debunked. Bleeding Cool has been really anti-Feige and Marvel Studios for a while now for some reason. They must be buddy buddy with someone at Marvel TV.

Given Avengers: Age of Ultron left the Hulk's whereabouts up in the air (or perhaps somewhere in the ocean), fans have been theorizing when and where we will see Mark Ruffalo's Jade Giant again, if at all, before his inevitable return in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War. Persistent rumors and speculation that Bruce Banner's angry alter-ego would show up Planet Hulk-style in 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 have been dismissed, but we may now know what Marvel's planning.

According to Joblo, whose track record has been pretty reliable as of late, Mark Ruffalo will be joining Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleson, and Jaimie Alexander inThor: Ragnarok which will have the God of Thunder teaming up with the Incredible Hulk against what's considered to be the Norse apocalypse. Furthermore, it's said the threequel will feature a "distant planet that's not Asgard nor Earth," which is probably just one of the other Nine realms we have yet to see on the big-screen. There's no word on how much we'll see Bruce Banner versus the other guy, but Joblo reassures that "he's absolutely part of the supporting cast and will feature prominently."

A few fans were left scratching their heads when Taika Waititi was brought on board to helm Thor: Ragnarok. The talented writer/director has acheived plenty of success - but predominantly in the comedy genre. According to BMD, this was the exact reason why he was hired by Marvel - "to bring a touch of lightness" to Christopher Yost's very dark script - which is said to have an "apocalyptic vibe". A bit of a change from watching Darcy & co. bumbling around on Earth, eh?

Faraci also delves into a few story details, so a minor SPOILER warning from here on out. He began by confirming JoBlo's recent scoop about the Hulk appearing in the threequel - and maintained that the character will play "a major role" as Thor & Hulk take "a cosmic road trip together, Hope and Crosby style". While on that journey, they'll meet the group called the Valkyries. Their inclusion could lead to major roles for both the former Defenders heroine Valkyrie, and her fan-favorite nemesis, The Enchantress. Faraci adds that he's less certain about these plot points, but resolutely states that Marvel are "looking to cast some great women in this movie".

In a two-project agreement between Marvel and Fox Networks Group, FX and Fox are moving ahead with two TV dramas set in the world of X-Men, both executive produced by the film franchise’s director, Bryan Singer, producer Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg as well as Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. FX has given a pilot order to Legion, written/executive produced by Fargo creator Noah Hawley, while Fox has closed deals to develop the long-rumored Hellfire (working title), created by Evan Katz (24: Live Another Day), Manny Coto (24), Patrick McKay (Star Trek 3) and JD Payne (Star Trek 3).

And looks like Marvel is getting F4 rights back in exchange for those tv shows.

    =======

Could we finally see the Fantastic Four back under the Marvel Studios umbrella? That's what Den Of Geek is reporting, anyway. According to them the deal is done, and in exchange for Fox being allowed to develop theLegion and Hellfire TV shows, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, The Human Torch - and presumably all characters associated with them - will return home.

This probably isn't that surprising given the critical and commercial disaster that Josh Trank's recent reboot became - but Fox did seem adamant that they were going ahead with a sequel, so perhaps they were just trying to throw people off the scent. DOG reckon this deal has been in the works for a while now.

Oh, and remember those mystery 2020 Marvel movies that were announced along with the Ant-Man and The Wasp news? Apparently Fantastic Four will be one of 'em.

This is only being reported as a rumor for the time being, but it does make a lot of sense. We'll update if and when any more information comes our way.

UPDATE: "Having asked for some clarification from our source, we understand that the deal Marvel have made with Fox - which will see Fantastic Four returned to the Marvel fold in exchange for the X-Men TV rights - also includes the rights to villains Galactus and Doctor Doom, as well as the Silver Surfer."
