May pissed me off in that episode, and the plot twist doesn't make me believe it's going to get better moving forward. I hate that character. They're really setting up the conflict between the main characters this season, though.
random tidbit: Powers Boothe played a random World Security Council member (the group that yelled at Nick Fury) in Avengers, nice little payoff here casting him as a head of hydra.
Really didn't like that last episode. Just came across as extremely cheesy. I'm confident it won't stay that way but we'll see. I also feel like I have to say that May is not at all convincing as a bad ass. All her one liners are terrible. They always have been. I still really like the show but they could kill of May and it wouldn't change anything
no, SWORD is my speculation on the organization that sent Will through the portal. Rosalind is just working for HYDRA apparently.
Oh. I thought I missed something in the final seconds. That secret organization logo did look like SWORD, and they would also make perfect sense for it to end up being that organization. I'd be fine with either.
I don't even know what plotlines the writers can still blow through for the rest of the season and I'm looking forward to finding out. AoS speeding through plot like the entire writing staff is on some Walter White meth binge.
Always love the small little MCU tie-ins. Andrew teaches at Culver University, where the gamma experiment went wrong, and this scene
Hunter: “I’m just gonna say what we’re all thinkin’: he has a hog face.” Fitz: “...He does have a hog face.” Hunter would be an amazing bro to have.
Loving the show this season. One of the few shows I've watched in a while that I can't wait until the next episode.
So glad they kept him evil instead of finding some lame way to excuse his behavior. The character is so much better as a villain. Especially given the fact he has been so unpredictable since the reveal.
I don't mind it for two primary reasons: 1. More Hydra means more Evil Ward. 2. The episode pretty much turned the overall motivations of Hydra on their head. Minor complaint: A little bit of a retcon to have Hydra being much older than Red Skull.
I like keeping it simple the way they are. there's enough going on with the Inhumans and other planets we don't need to be introduced to a whole new group of bad guys as well.
My guess is The Unspoken. He's an Inhuman who used to be king in the comics, but was ousted by Black Bolt and exiled. The only issue is the fact he is way, way, way too powerful to be a villain on this show. He's the living embodiment of terrigenesis and is basically capable of anything. Like Avengers movie level threat. I guess they could get around it by never having anyone fight him directly or power him down from his character in the comics.
Also put me in the group that loves Ward being a villian I also like Powers Booth in this show as well
I really like the show, but Coulson does really stupid shit sometimes that kind of ruins episodes for me. Tonight was one of those episodes. I get that it sucks, but his actions throughout this episode made zero sense.
Coulson doesn't do dramatic well him and Ros making off handed flirts at each other with tinder references and Luddite comments? gold, I could watch those all day.
I like socially awkward Coulson who always has a plan, even when you don't realize it. "I'm going rogue" Coulson just comes off as weird and dumb to me whenever they've tried it. Beyond how stupid some of his choices were, his actions were just dumb, even though I get the attempt at emotion. He benched Hunter earlier in the season because he put his mission of killing Ward ahead of saving May's husband. Then, yesterday, he's choking him out because he didn't finish the job he pulled him off? What the hell?
that was a pretty meh episode imo but it sets up for what should be an awesome midseason finale AND THEN AGENT CARTER COMES BACK NEXT MONTH!!!
This may be unpopular, but I would be totally ok with killing Fitz. Whenever they need to make sense of something stupid, play off Fitz's love of Simmons to get it done. His character bores me to death. Hey, Hydra is trying to get their endgame which could possibly destroy the world. Fitz: Stop hurting Simmons and I'll help.
I think Fitz sees it as "I'm looking to bring the other guy back anyway, and I'm smarter than everyone else, so what the hell." That's my expectation on how it ends at least. I don't think I want to see what Fitz dying would do to the Simmons character, either. His character isn't as boring/bad as Bobbi or Simmons, although their looks make up for it. Bobbi has basically been a female Mack so far this season. Fitz can be amusing at times, and I think he plays off the other characters better than most. He's also better at playing the emotional stuff than anyone else on the show, which is important because they seem to be trying that more this season.
