Why is Taylor Jungmann on my fantasy team and why did I actually use him today. I don't care if its a 16 team league this is it for him. His half season in 2015 was a fluke and he really does suck.
Breaking ball and change up That's all he's got. Neither of those two have been working this year which leaves him with a slow, unimpressive fastball
His fastball is also down a couple of MPH this year. Great decision passing on Sonny Gray twice for Jungmann and Bradley.
I haven't been giving any minor league updates lately because its been very bleak lately. Most of our good prospects have not played well at all. I have also been bothered by the mismanagement of some players. For instance Michael Reed has barely played any CF and Garin Cechini has been mostly used as a DH and first baseman. Reed really should be the CF in Milwaukee as soon as any service time concerns aren't an issue and Cechini should be playing third base for the Crew in the next month or so and playing these guys at other positions is beyond counterproductive.
I still think we have a good shot at the number one pick in the 2017 draft and I am more than ok with that. This pitching staff is laughably bad even for this franchise.
It has been great this week for my fantasy team. Sano and Franco remembered how to hit again and they can thank the Brewers. Sano pretty much hasn't hit against any other team.
Overall it's been a promising season if we isolate out what we were looking forward to going into the season. Braun is back to his old self at the plate. Carter will be a tradeable asset if he keeps it up. Lucroy is hitting close to .300 but it would be nice if he slugged a bit higher. Santana doesn't have the numbers to show for how hard he's been hitting the ball. I saw a stat about a week ago that he had the second most balls hit above a certain exit velocity. Starting pitching is hot garbage except for Nelson.
Josh Hader with another scoreless outing but again he only went 4 innings because he just isn't efficient. His ERA is below 1 but he just hasn't gone more than 5 innings. If he can become more efficient he can be a top of the rotation starter but if he doesn't he is just a bullpen guy; a great bullpen guy but we really need for him to remain a starter.
If it's anything like last year, we'll make bottom of the rotation guys look like aces and aces look like scrubs.
Supposedly the Red Sox are interested in Peralta. I could also see them as a darkhorse team for Lucroy. We need to do a deal with them since Dombrowski loves giving away prospects to win now.
It would help if he got the same calls on the corners Hendricks was getting, to say nothing of the pitch right in the center of the zone that Lucroy turned around and looked at the ump in disgust. It's as if Lucroys reputation as a pitch framer gets him squeezed now. I don't know why else he would have gone from the best in the game to one of the worst.
I got it from IMDB's summary of Doogie Howser "Doogie is no ordinary teenager, he is a doctor." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096569/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl

Is Braun's defense that bad? Fangraphs kills him for his defense. According to them he would be more valuable as a DH, as David Ortiz has the same Offensive number and a better defensive number. I haven't watch much this year but I've always thought he was adequate out there.
He isn't a good defensive LF but you can deal with less than ideal defense in LF. I think Santana looks just as bad in RF and that position is probably more important. We are really going to need a stud in CF to make up for the rest of our outfielders.
Did the Brewers really get 7 innings out of a starting pitcher. Nice job from Nelson and it would be nice to see someone else go more than 5. The Brewers scored a million runs for Peralta on Sunday and he still couldn't even give them 6 full innings with his 13 hits given up and zero strikeouts. I actually wanted to sign that scrub to a long term contract. Maybe its good that I am not running the team.
So there has started to be speculation about a possible Braun deal. Where do you guys stand on the subject. Personally I want to keep him in a Brewers uniform for the rest of his career but I understand why some want to trade him with his value so high.
I would prefer to keep him. While Lucroy has said he wants no part of a rebuild, Braun has embraced it and it might not hurt to have a veteran around to babysit the kids as they come up. He's always been a good clubhouse and community guy. I feel like the return would have to be huge for Attanasio to sign off on it, and I just dont see other teams valuing him as high as the Brewers do if that makes any sense. It probably makes all the baseball sense in the world to deal him, but I guess I'm hesitant like you. I would want a haul with closer to major league ready talent (preferably SP and catcher) than we've seen in past deals during the rebuild. Looking at prospects in the top 30, I have trouble really finding a suitor
