Milwaukee Brewers: Where the F do the Brewers find these PUKE DIARRHEA PITCHERS? FAUCI University??

It also helps when you can afford a top free agent pitcher like Lester. The Brewers can only afford the Suppans of the world so the only way for them to get a top starting pitcher is to draft one. The Brewers are really loaded with outfield prospects but still lack big time potential starters other than Hader and even he has questions whether or not he can remain a starter.

This organization has only drafted or signed two big time starters in its entire history (Ben Sheets and Ted Higuera) and I really hope this new front office will change that. Groome and Pint have that type of upside so we really should pick one of them. If a hitter is far and away the best player on the board I wont object but we really need some top starters.

I have only seen clips of Groome and Pint but Groome has been the consensus number one player for the last year and Pint has been clocked at 100. Lets just go with upside and if it doesn't work out so be it. I will never criticize the team for taking a shot with high upside guys vs picking a guy with a good chance of making it to Milwaukee but not much chance of being a star player.

This is my one weekend to get the see the team in action. Unfortunately I have to watch Wily and his 1.99 WHIP starting tonight against Matz and I don't think Braun will be playing. Still I always look forward to watching the Brewers and the weather is pretty nice.

Taylor Jungmann last night lasted a total of 1/3 of an inning where he gave up 6 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks including 2 home runs. His AAA ERA is now 14.85. I think we can safely say that his first few months in Milwaukee where he pitched well were a complete fluke as his minor league career has been mostly terrible.

Gatewood has raised his batting average a lot the last few weeks and he does have 6 home runs but I think he only has one or two walks on the season. If he can learn to take some walks he has a chance to be really good as the power is real.

The latest mlb.com mock draft has the Brewers taking Corey Ray at number 5 and passing on both Groome and Pint. In fact pretty much every mock lately has us taking this guy. I really hope this is wrong because I will be infuriated if we pass on the top high school arms for a college outfielder who cant even play CF.

So Braun is out again tonight and Santana is on the DL. I get to see an outfield of Niewenhuis, Broxton, and Presley tonight.

At least we were winning after the first inning and weren't trailing till the 6th. I know we suck but I still enjoy going to the games when the team is in New York. The Mets offense must be really awful because Wily looked awful to me.

Other than the Carter HR I think we had one or two hard hit balls the rest of the night. I did enjoy watching Capuano who looked really good. Keon Broxton may have torn up AAA but he just doesn't look like a major league hitter at all and every ball hit to him in CF was an adventure.

Would have been nice if we could have won a game. Montgomery better keep hitting on his draft picks and Stearns needs to make some more good trades because we are a long way away from being good. I know we faced good pitching this weekend but this lineup is really bad.

Another 5 scoreless innings for Josh Hader and Jake Gatewood hit his 7th HR. Kodi Medeiros on the other hand was awful again and his ERA is over 7 for the season.

Last night Marcos Diplan the main guy from the Gallardo trade and Freddy Peralta from the Lind deal combined to strike out 15 with only 1 earned run against. Diplan has a 1.56 ERA and Peralta is at 2.01.

I think they have done a good job of amassing a high quantity of guys with upside, but this 2016 draft pick, Lucroy yield, and 2017 pick need to be sure thing cornerstones of the franchise.

Colorado Springs (18-21) 3rd in PCL American North

Arcia is staying hot, hitting .471, including two doubles and a triple this week. Yadiel Rivera is doing well for the Sky Sox. He hit two triples this week while going 6 for 17. Barnes put up another solid week in the bullpen, in three appearances he gave up zero runs while striking out 3

Nothing too negative to say this week. Reed is back after missing some time with concussion symptoms. Magnifico and Lopez put up pretty average numbers.

Biloxi Shuckers (26-17) 1st in Southern League South

Hader had a fantastic week once again. 11 IP, 6 hits, 0 runs, 4 BB and 13 Ks. His worst start all year was 4/24 when he went 4 innings, giving up 0 runs while striking out 8. I think this guys is ready for AAA. Nottingham hit 2 HRs and Adrian Houser had a promising start.

I think the big news here is that Brett Phillips has hit the DL with a pulled hamstring, hopefully he recovers quicky. Roache had a slow week hitting 4 for 21. He did smack a homer and score 4 runs, however.

Brevard County Manatees (14-29) 6th in FSL North

I've got nothing positive to say this week about our top Manatee prospects. Coulter and Ponce continue to ride it out on the DL while Derby and Medeiros got roughed up. Medeiros only made it through 1.2 innings before giving up 8 runs, 7 hits, and a walk.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (21-22) 5th in Midwest League West

The Trent Clark excitement lasted about a week before he strained his hamstring running to third base. He will miss at least one week.

Devin Williams bounced back from a tough first start. He pitched 4 innings, giving up 3 hits and one run while striking out 5. Diplan also pitched well in his start this week. 5 IP, 3 hits, 2 runs (0 ER), and 7 K's. Peralta and M. Diaz are getting lots of K's, notching 8 and 5, respectfully.

While the pitching has been hot, the hitting has been slow this week for the T-Rats. Isan Diaz, Harrison, and Gatewood all hit in the low .200's this week.

    Highlights from Week 8

Colorado Springs (21-25) 4th in PCL American North

Yadiel Rivera has shown well in AAA, this week getting 3 extra base hits, two doubles and one triple. Magnifico was back to lights out this week - 3 IP, 0 hits, 2 walks and 4 strikouts. Same for Jacob Barnes, 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER and 4 K's.

Arcia followed up a .471 week with a .148 week. He made the most of his 4 hits and 1 walk by scoring 6 runs. Jorge Lopez continues his struggles, losing and raising his ERA to 6.25. Reed's rough season continues, hitting 2 for 20 this week with nine K's.

Biloxi Shuckers (29-21) 2nd in Southern League South

Phillips is back after missing 10 days on the DL. He played just twice, but hit 4 for 8, including a HR. Hader continues to pitch like Hader. Roache hit 5 for 16 and scored 4 runs.

    Adrian Houser got roughed up this week - 5 IP, 10 H, 5 ER, and 3 K's.

Brevard County Manatees (16-34) 6th in FSL North

Medeiros pitched a quality start, 5 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 5 BB, and 5 Ks.

Clint Coulter is back from the DL after missing 20 days. He had a rough start going only 2 for 15 with 4 strikeouts.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (24-26) 6th in Midwest League West

Marcos Diplan pitched four scoreless innings while striking out six.

Isan Diaz had a rough week. 6 for 34 with 7 strikouts, defensively he was charged with 5 errors. Freddy Peralta pitched four innings - 6 hits, 6 ER, 2 BB, and 4 K's. Miguel Diazpitched twice and didn't get it done. 7 IP, 11 hits, 10 R (8 earned), 3 BB and 7 strikeouts.

    From Reddit

In case anyone is wondering how fucking terrible our scout team was, here are the players selected directly after our picks in the first round:

    * Brandon Nimmo (Top-100 OF prospect; hasn't reached majors yet)

    * Jose Fernandez (All-Star pitcher; Rookie of the Year in 2013)

    * Chris Reed (Pitcher; hasn't reached majors, has had an unimpressive minor league career)

    * CJ Cron (1B; hit 16 HRs for the Angels last year)

    * Sonny Gray (Pitcher; 2015 All-star)

    * Matt Barnes (Pitcher; relatively
    unimpressive for Boston)

    * Tyler Anderson (Pitcher in the Rockies minor league system)

    * Tyler Beede (Pitcher that was drafted in the 1st round again in 2014)

    * Kolten Wong (2B for the Cardinals)

    * Alex Meyer (was a top-100 Pitching prospect in 2013)

    * Taylor Guerrieri (top-100 pitching prospect in 2013)

    * Joe Ross (Pitcher for Washington)

    * Blake Swihart (C for Boston)

    * Robert Stephenson (Top-100 pitching prospect for Cincinnati in 2015)

    * Sean Gilmartin (Pitcher for NYM)

    * Joe Panik (2015 All-star 2B for SF)

    * Levi Michael (unimpressive minor league 2B)

Sure, there are other misses in here. But you know why they didn't take Sonny Gray? Because he wasn't fucking tall enough. They wouldn't even look at a pitcher who was under 6'2". Instead we took Taylor Jungmann and Jed Bradley, and they have a combined 140 innings in the majors, and Jungmann has all 140 of those.

This number five pick to me has to be one of Jason Groome, Delvin Perez and Riley Pint. I will be bitterly disappointed if it is anyone other than those three guys. I especially want to avoid Corey Ray and Kyle Lewis; this organization shouldn't be drafting a corner outfielder high unless the player is a sure fire star with the bat and neither of those guys are.

    Highlights from Week 9

Colorado Springs (25-27) 4th in PCL American North

Barnes made a move to the big league club and has pitched very well in his first two appearances. Arcia was back to his hitting ways this week. He went 11 for 26 and only struck out once. However only one hit went for extra bases. He's currently on a 10 game hitting streak. Magnifico seems to be getting some rest as he only featured once this week, pitching a perfect inning.

Lopez, Reed, and Rivera all put in pretty mediocre weeks.

Biloxi Shuckers (31-24) 2nd in Southern League South

Hader won organizational pitcher of the month and was thusly rewarded with some time off. He's been sent down to the Helena club so I'm not sure what that might mean for what comes next for him. Jacob Nottingham had a sensational week. 7 for 17, 5 runs, 3 HRs and 6 RBI. Adrian Houser had a nice start this week. 6 IP, 7 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K's. This guy is so up and down though, lets see if he can string two QS' together.

Phillips went 5 for 20, including two doubles and a triple. He struck out 10 times this week. Taylor and Roache both had abysmal weeks - recording just one hit each.

Brevard County Manatees (20-36) 6th in FSL North

Kodi Medeiros has been moved to the 7-Day disabled list, I haven't seen any mention as to why. Coulter went 4 for 19 with 2 doubles and a HR. He'll need to work on bringing his average up - sitting at .203 on the season. Bubba Derby has leveled off at around 4.2 ERA after having a hot start.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (27-30) 6th in Midwest League West

Trent Clark has returned off of the DL! He only played once on Saturday and quickly got a day off - here's to hoping he didn't aggravate anything. Devin Williams pitched great - 6 IP, 4 hits, 0 runs, 2 BB, and 6 K's. Isan Diaz had a hot bat this week going 7 for 16 with two doubles and 2 HR. He is getting more patient as well, walking five times. Miguel Diaz had his best start of the year with 6.1 IP, 2 hits, 1 BB, and 8 punch outs.

Besides three home runs, Monte Harrison had another very Monte Harrison week - 5 for 24 with 8 strikeouts. Jake Gatewood also struggled at the plate with only 3 hits in 22 tries. On a positive note, he tied his lowest error count with only one this week.

The Brewers are not picking Delvin Perez with the 5th pick since he failed a drug test. Looks like there is a chance that both Groome and Pint will be available but we might pass on both which would be incredibly disappointing. All I ask at this point is to avoid the college bats especially Corey Ray.

Derek Johnson has done a great job with this pitching staff. As for Pint I like him but his delivery does concern me. Jason Groome should be the pick if he is available but Pint or even Braxton Garrett a high school lefty would be good picks. I don't get the feeling that we are going to pick a pitcher with the 5th pick at all and that would be disappointing.

Most mock drafts have the Brewers picking Ray which to me is sickening. He is a LF that doesn't have big power. He has been the one guy mentioned that I would be most upset about.

Doesn't sound like we are going to be very happy tonight. Looks like we will pass on both Groome and Pint if they are available. If the Phillies pick Moniak the Rockies at 4 will probably pick Pint since he seems to be their second choice to Moniak.
