I know it is highly unlikely but I am still holding out hope for Charlotte to be in there. I spoke with one of the owners a couple months ago and he said they are doing everything they can to make themselves appealing to the MLS and that is their end goal. Once they get approvals to renovate the stadium they are looking into near uptown Charlotte they are going to really get the ball rolling. Of course this was a couple months ago and a lot could have changed in that time. But if they create a solid stadium in that location then I could see soccer fans packing it out pretty often, especially with it being right near uptown.
Dan Kennedy traded to LAG for a second and third round draft picks. He's friends with my buddies so that's cool.
soulfly did you see this? http://www.soundersfc.com/post/2015/12/14/sounders-fcs-osvaldo-alonso-returns-cuba-first-time-2007
http://www.timbers.com/post/2015/12...ation-money-conditional-second-round-2017-mls Will Johnson traded to Toronto for allocation money and 2nd round 2017 pick. Hope its for a good amount of cash because I figured we could get a higher pick from somebody else. Either way, its from an area the Timbers are loaded and he wasn't the same after coming back from injury. It also helped free up Nagbe and Chara do Chara things.
Omar Gonzalez to Pachuca. Really wasn't worth what the Galaxy were paying him, which was around $1.5 Mil. He was going to have to take a paycut to even be able to be paid down by the new TAM.

The player who said in 2014 that he was not ready to join MLS because he was “not ready to relax on a beach” could soon be playing near the beaches of Southern California. Multiple reports have stated that the LA Galaxy are negotiating a deal with veteran English fullback Ashley Cole. The Irish Sun first reported the news, and ESPNFC.com corroborated with a separate story that cited a source with knowledge of the negotiations. Cole, who just turned 35, is currently on the books at AS Roma, but has not played this season because of a contract dispute. English Premier League outfit Aston Villa is said to be interested in signing Cole, but the Galaxy are in talks to bolster their back line with him after creating more cap room via Tuesday’s sale of Omar Gonzalez to Pachuca. If Cole was to sign with MLS, the move would mark an interesting twist to his career. The former England international has been linked with the league since 2014, but infamously said back then that he was not ready to head stateside. “I had offers from the USA, but I’m not ready to relax on a beach yet,” Cole told reporters shortly after signing with Roma in July 2014. “I’ve won a lot in my career already, but I don’t want to stop.” A player who represented England 107 times, Cole has not seen much time since leaving Chelsea for Roma. He made 11 Serie A appearances last season, all of which were starts, but has not seen the field at all this campaign.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/natalie...errell/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Good sign to see this kind of exposure increase with the new deals. Still a long ways to go, but the signs are starting to appear, the product is getting better, and the fans more passionate.
as much as I like Johnny Depp, I think you meant to post this: http://www.forbes.com/sites/darrenh...-soccer-is-closing-the-gap-with-the-big-four/
I think the MLS should go to STL next for sure A Downtown Detroit team seems like a cool idea to me and the Iraqi's love some soccer Indy meh- I dont think that market needs another pro team. Its not very large Austin probably makes sense- those people would probably embrace the team
Sorta MLS since he was sold from LA. Omar showed up at the Pachucha press conference in full Darth Vader suit http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2015/...referral&utm_content=News&utm_campaign=Unpaid
I agree with a lot of this. Indy no way. I like when MLS goes after a few of these smaller markets. I know they want the 'exposure' but the atmospheres are so much better because the locals embrace it so much more. I always said you throw a team in Omaha Nebraska and they would put 20,000 in the stands every game because they love sports and love rooting for somebody. Biggest example is Portland, smaller tv market but these kinds of fans (every tifo from 2015)
There's a lot of Omaha/Lincoln people that go to Sporting KC game Omaha/Limcoln could prolly draw 30k every week- it would be there only pro team for what's a really fast growing market. You could lump Des Moines in as well
Indy 11 has 10K season ticket holders and it'd be more but they cap it because of the stadium size. It's a midwest market that will be a very nice fall back option if some others don't materialize.
Indy and Columbus Columbus and Detroit would be nice regional rivalries Unless your a douche from the Northwest and call than Derbys
Re: Jordan Morris: Multiple outlets have stated that Morris is the subject of interest from professional clubs in Germany and other points abroad. But the Goal.com report claims that he's close to agreeing a deal with the Sounders that would make him the highest-paid Homegrown Player in MLS history.
http://www.oregonlive.com/timbers/i...bers_still_decidin.html#incart_river_home_pop Timbers exploring options to expand Providence Park on the south side (the side opposite of army). For more entertainment, read comment section below and those clamoring for them to bring back Triple-A baseball and the 3,000 fans that were there before soccer.
Sorry to our timbers fans but to the ones that came to Columbus for the title game They were miserable assholes- fuck your lame "traditions" and Darby's with teams 300 miles away. What a bunch of weirdos
I like that. Glad MLS finally figured out that clean, crest logos are much better than the former shit they had. None better than the switch of the leagues logo. Went from dogshit to simple, classy, and rather good looking.
Bigger news than the crest and colors is Will Ferrell was announced as a part owner. "This is not a joke. I actually am a member of this fine ownership group," he said, adding that it's the first time he's part-owned anything since a 1984 Toyota Camry.
The angels wing for city of angels is an interesting touch. They should serve Angels envy at the games.
Yeah unless he is a whiskey cunt and then he may not like the port finish. I really liked it when I got a bottle for Christmas a couple years ago. Their rye is on my list to try.
Cunt seems to be my word of 2016. Ace Boogie Used it in the coffee thread yesterday and here today without giving it much thought. Becoming more English everyday.
Nah he isn't really, just enjoys trying new things. Eagle Rare single barrel is his every day drink since I introduced him to that a few years ago on recs from this board. Try to get him some more expensive stuff for his bday.
Schedules came out, Timbers don't play the Sounders until July 17th : | They play them 3 times to finish out season. Also 4 MLS games will be on Fox's main channel this upcoming season, 30 others on FS1. Good news.
lol, yeah I'm talking internet usage. It's not part of my spoken vocabulary. My wife would not approve.
I find it being my go to word for when people anger me while driving. When my wife is in the car I've gone to cocksucker because then even if I start to slip up I can try to save it
