Ad boards at the NYC match today. Probably something that will standard across the league this weekend. Know that several supporter groups have additional plans.
I saw that the new OC stadium will have 49 chairs dedicated to the victims. I didn't see if they would be marked specially or if they'd keep them empty or what though.
Infomation is pretty vague about it. It will be in Section 12 of the stadium but no word if they will be left empty or not. Section 12 is halfway between the goal and center circle. I personally hope they leave them empty no matter what event is held at the stadium.
somewhere, an entry level marketing guy is doing "49 x Events x ticket price x average additional spend per seat x years"
Could see them doing something like a donation of a certain percentage of those seats too. The club is not tone deaf so I am sure they have a plan for those seats.
reasonable compromise: leave those seats open every june. do something cool with them the other 11 months don't hurt revenue that much, makes a nice statement, raises money, etc...
by the way, holy shit at this villa effort https://twitter.com/101greatgoals/status/744220530052575233
lol this league. I also want a replay of that "offsides" that denied Dallas the score on that follow-up moments later.
From where I'm sitting all calls have been accurate and this has been an unbiased and well officiated game.
So true As a fan of Nagbe and the Timbers its been a bit rough lately watching him have early success with team, now not seeing any minutes, and him not being on Timbers.
I don't think MLS thought US would make it this far, but they can't really take off 3 straight weekends during the prime summer months anyway. This was exactly what the MLS did with the World Cup. They took off the Group Stages and were back during the knock out rounds. The most likely scenario was getting out of the Group in 2nd and playing on Friday night, so none of the players would have been available anyway for games this past Saturday. Even a Thursday-Saturday turnaround would have been too soon for anybody that played in that game. By starting this week it allowed all players for teams that didn't advance out of the Group to participate and their are a fair number of Jamaican, Panamanian, Costa Rican that were available this weekend.
Since I'm the only one that follows the Timmbers around here, news has been swirling all week that Adi is demanding a transfer.
Today is like a soccer version of the opening day of march madness. 3 Euro knockout matches, some MLS action, some USMNT action.
Can't believe I've missed this all week. Rumors been there all year but I follow Adi and didn't see his retweets about it. Likely won't be transferred till after the season so they can open up a spot for DP player and have more money to put towards it. Melano has also been rumored for a while back to Argentina. Shows all the talent and then comes the finish....or lack of one. If either gets transferred out, Nagbe and Valeri going to have to go ham the second half to get us into playoffs.
He retweeted (twice) an OregonLive article about him denying the move Hopefully he's here through the end of the season
Baptista flop late into stoppage time and Kaka converts, 3-2 OCSC Nearly 10min of stoppage time due to Toronto gk injury
He hasn't usually been the problem, but was in first goal. 2nd was greatttt defense by a DP (heavy sarcasm)
Buzz phrases? Err.. K. It looked totally benign to me. I'll have to further scrutinize the highlight later. In bar boozing.
