Also from perusing this thread for awhile, we are definitely going to make a stop at Hattie B's; is there a particular location that is best? Best BBQ spot? We typically just end up at Jack's on Broadway after going up and down all night but I'm sure there are better options. Lastly, I know it's not a destination town for pizza but between 5 points and DeSano's which should we opt for (or is there a better spot)? Thank you!

As far as pizza goes, it depends on what you're looking for in a pizza joint. If good food and bar, go to Mafiozas Deep Dish = 312 Pizza Co. Desanos and 5 points are both really good as well. Stay away from two boots.
Coming to Nashville for about 24 hours on way to Knoxville. Will arrive Thursday about 10 am, have lunch that day, do stuff that afternoon, dinner, and probably a good brunch in the morning. Friend of mine has been doing research, but thought I would look for recommendations. Staying at The Capitol Hotel downtown. edit- reading some of the stuff for Visa, but wouldn't mind any other recs for OU fans who've never been to Tennessee
I'll add my notes to what people have said above: Arnold's for sure. That's probably the thing I miss most now that I'm working down in Cool Springs. Never get up there for a weekday lunch. Charlotte location is easier to park/eat at (much bigger) and I havent really noticed a difference in the quality of food between the two locations. Martin's bbq or edley's. Both have locations near 12th south/belmont and will be easy to get to from downtown like BIGASSTITTIES said, pizza depends on what type of pizza youre looking for. Havent been to 5 points, but really like the BYOB aspect of desanos, and their pizza is godtier. I think they are the only place in Nashville that is technically certified to make authentic Neapolitan style pizzas (I think all of their ingredients get shipped over from Italy). 512 is great for deep dish. Not really a fan of Mafiozas pizza but the outdoor patio is a pretty good atmosphere.
I live in Chicago and can't stand deep dish; I think Jon Stewart aptly described it as tomato cake. We prefer NY style or Neopolitan and not too concerned about anything but the quality of the food. Thanks gents. Is the Pharmacy worth a trip? Paradise Park?
Is Rotiers actually good or is it just a place people from out of town go to? Saw it listed on some top places to eat type things in each SEC town.
Rotiers is probably more of a locals spot that a touristy spot, imo Pharmacy is definitely worth a trip if you have time, but dont skip arnolds for it. PPark is one of the best bars on broadway. Also, my favorite late night food on broadway
Yes. Hell yes. Also, I'm here to echo the Arnold's love. I love when I work at our HQ and can actually get it for lunch. It would be amazing for a good hangover meal if it was open on weekends.
Definitely agree that not the best pizza but it is good. I have been a huge fan of the patio of Mafioza's for years and years now. I haven't been there in a while, but their 2 for 1 tuesday used to be a great night to go and see an absolute shit show of drunk, beautiful women.
Thursdays were big nights to go out at Vandy and I think I went to Arnolds almost every single Friday my senior year
I went to pharmacy for the first time in a while and was alarmed when they didn't ask me how I wanted my burger cooked...sure enough, the patty was lacking...still really good overall...better burgers elsewhere imo
Gotcha, I havent tried to bring beer in forever, so thats probably why I didnt notice. Sidenote, I'm pretty sure my friends and I are the reason Desanos began to get away from byob beer. Brought a keg in there one night after a day party after calling to make sure it was okay. They didnt seem to mind on the phone but got pissed pretty quickly after we got there. Next week kegs were officially not allowed. Seems like theyve been slowly changing their rules ever since then.

Hey, we called ahead of time and specifically asked if we could bring a keg. Their response was "we have no rules against it, so why not?" I blame their staff 100%

Haha that day was pretty absurd. We had a few kegs at a house nearby for keg kickball during the day. Ended up with 1/2 of a keg left and bunch of very drunk, very hungry college age kids. Don't remember how we came up with the idea to take it to Desanos, but as soon as it was mentioned, no one wanted to do anything else. I remember being shocked when they okayed it over the phone.
If I can get two burgers there then I'm down with it. Fried pickle spears are lame though Prefer Gabby's, Sportsmans and Dalton's
Don't know if this will be a popular opinion or not... But the best burger I have had in town is the burger at Adele's. Right when it opened that was on their menu at any time of the day and it was sooo good. Now they apparently only serve it after 9 PM, which is bullshit.
