Did a little reading on the Bicameral mind thing that Ford brought up when talking to Bernard. Makes me think that she's not his son and he's on team Arnold and wants to see if he can get Delhorez to be self aware. Him giving her Alice in Wonderland to read and her answer to that last question about there's not two of me, just one and something something can't wait til I figure out who I am... question is will it be Delloras the hero or Dilores the villain ordered The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind to start reading between episodes. book is right up my alley of weird shit
you remind me of my weed dealer who would have stopped watching because of that despite how much he may have liked the show
Well, like I said, I think it was only 1 shot and the gun was definitely cocked at some point, we just didn't see her do it on screen. Here's a still from just before the hammer strikes with the gun cocked... Spoiler And here is post hammer strike with some smoke coming out of the barrel... Spoiler As you can see from the time on the bottom bar it's just a split second where we can see it cocked then firing. You hear the gunshot from that angle then the angle shifts to show Dolores and we hear it/see it again.

Its all good. Just mentioing something that bothered me. Maybe it was just an editing flop and they cut out the part where she cocked it. Maybe the second shot never happened and it was just part of her memory switch between rebus and mib. Its not a big deal. I like the show and this wont cause me to stop watching. I just hope not to see scenes like this in future episodes.
tried to think of what the location would actually matter. I guess if the robots go all iRobot and it's not on mars then they could escape and fuck up people on earth. but that's about the only thing i could think of. and i'd be pretty damn surprised if this show had that kind of cockamamie shit as it's end game
Nolan said in an interview that by the end of the season there would be some clues that people might be able to figure it out.
I think the location of Westworld itself is going to play a role. Obviously the plot is moving towards the hosts becoming sentient, and they are going to want to escape/know what reality truly is----i.e., they want to leave Westworld (if such is even possible?) and see the real world. Still think the facility itself is far underground (but that still leaves a lot to explain re: how BIG the world itself is) spoiler from preview: Spoiler in the previews for I think next week (might've been "in the coming weeks") they pan over a canyon to see a huge crane, like Delos performing construction in Westworld/building something for the next narrative. Assuming the hosts see this, who knows what will happen, but I think a bunch of the 'real world' will start showing up in Westworld, kind of like the hosts waking up in the real world (like Thindie when she was getting cut on).
Another possible piece of evidence in the William = MIB theory... The lettering is different. People thought it might be just a props thing going from the pilot to episodes 2 and 3 since there were notorious production delays but the can Teddy picks up (twice in episode 1, once in episode 3) is always the one on the left. William's can is the one on the right. The can the MIB picks up in the pilot also matches Teddy's. About 5 seconds before we see William pick the can up Ford finishes his little speech about why Sizemore's new storyline is not good... "The guests don't return for the obvious things we do, the garish things. They come back because of the subtleties, the details. They come back because they discover something they imagine no on had ever noticed before... "
I just finished the 3 eps so I have a lot of this thread to catch up on but... I just wanted to pop in and say this line is badass: "Evolution forged the entirety of sentient life on this planet using one tool -- the mistake." /
By the way, of all the theories discussed itt, I'm most intrigued by Anthony Hopkins being a bot. Someone mentioned the fact that he was in the cold storage room, which was flooded, having a drink with that old bot. Did anyone address that yet, as to an alternate explanation?
There are some solid theories in here but most of them are via links. Instead it's the worst of arguing like you usually see in threads about good shows, which is unfortunate.
Haha yeah. "Look I love the show, I'm just saying blah blah blah was completely lazy by the writers."
What's your opinion of properly showing exactly how guns are cocked and fired literally every time it happens? Spoiler
watched the first three this morning this show has my brain all kinds of fucked up in ways that i like and don't like i like it
In episode 1, early on Luke Hemsworth is being assigned to handle the rogue Hosts in cold storage and asks Bernard if he has any kids at home. "If you did, you'd know that they always rebel."
