It was a blast. So many good shows, got around to about 10 yesterday. Didn't get to as many as I would have liked for the whole weekend, but that's to be expected when my whole group were first timers.

Got to meet Voodoo on Sunday finally after a couple failed attempts. Good dude and can't wait for 2017 :gays:

So who of the following guys get drafted (doing my own split straight away)

Gets Drafted: Stanley, Fuller, Martin, Smith, Day, Russell, Brown, Okwara, Shumate, Procise

Doesnt get drafted: Schmidt, Farley, Carlisle, the rest

Going optimistic here, i know, but getting double digit draftees would be so long ago, 1994 to be more precise

I'd put Farley as a special teams guy maybe going very late...mr irrelevant.

What about Ishaq Williams and Golson. Nd should be able to claim both. Both late round possibility to FA imo.

Farley is a 7th Rd or priority FA type pickup. Ishaq IMO is a FA pickup. Agree on all draftees as wicket

Tunsil is probably the better run blocker, but I can't see anyone better at pass blocking than Stanley. The only player who gave him a bit of trouble all year was Lawson, and even he didn't get a sack.

Pass blocking seems like it should be a much higher priority in the league IMO. Plus, Stanley has zero injury or off the field issues.

Yeah i think San Diego fans are underestimating how good a pass blocker he is. That said, I think the issue people are having is it seems like you could get good value by trading down (and still maybe get one of the two depending on where they trade down to) or get help on defense which the Chargers definitely need. Idk. I'll be rooting for Stanley to pay well wherever he goes

Stanley seems to be #1 on more than a few teams boards at OT. I saw on Twitter that he is #1 on the Jags board if they don't go defense, and that's just 2 picks behind them.

I think if he is your guy, you gotta take him there rather than trading back to 7 or 8 or wherever. Too much risk in another team jumping you to get him when you have first shot at him if it is who you really want.

If the Seahwaks don't take Myles Jack in round 1, why do I get the feeling that the Seahawks are going to pick Jaylon Smith? They now have 5 picks in the Top 100. Would be a very Seahawks sort of pick.

Harry Hiestand is big game hunting right now.

With a pair of 2017 commitments in the fold in Dillan Gibbons and Josh Lugg, the Notre Dame offensive line coach is on the road looking to bring more top talent to South Bend.

This week, Hiestand’s travels brought him to Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Pennsylvania to check on guys likeJedrick Wills,Trey SmithandAndrew Thomasamong others.

Wills is a prospect Notre Dame has been chasing for a while now and the Kentucky native was in South Bend for Irish Invasion last summer. Hiestand is hoping to get him back on campus again this summer and Wills says that’s a serious possibility.

Wills had a chance to catch up with Hiestand following the trip and gave Irish Sports Daily an idea of what was discussed.

“He told me that it was great to see me again and that he loves the progress I’m making in the weight room,” Wills said of Hiestand. “He told me he would love to get me back down to campus and can't wait for me to be back. He stressed that I was very important to their continued success on their offensive line.”

When asked what it is about Notre Dame that has his attention, Wills said, “The coaches, Coach Hiestand especially and the academics.”

Wills said he’s “just trying to find the place that fits me best.”

He said he’s still open to every school that’s offered him and would like to visit all of them. He doesn’t have a timeline for a decision, but does know what it will come down to.

“How successful the football and academics are, what the school and campus is like, and if I can play early without waiting three years.”

As for Hiestand, look for him to continue making trips to see his top targets, which will surely bring him to the West Coast at some point to see California’s Wyatt Davis and Foster Sarrell of Washington.

D-ROB DOWN TO THE WIRE:With Demetris Robertson now set to announce his decision on Sunday rather than Monday, it still seems like few - if anybody - is certain about what the elite 2016 Georgia athlete is going to do. Notre Dame certainly isn't sure.

The Irish still feel they're in the race for the same reasons they've been in the race for so long, they offer many attractive characteristics to Robertson. They just aren't sure exactly what this decision is going to come down to.

Notre Dame remains in contact with the kid and his camp. Still, we're not sure Robertson has told any school they're it or they're not it, so there's a good chance Notre Dame will be going into Sunday's announcement blind, which is not a good position to be in. That said, it's better than having been told you're out.

So, as has been the case with Robertson since his official visit back in September, we will see.

ND STILL AFTER CASS TECH STANDOUTS:As we reported last week, Notre Dame defensive backs coach Todd Lyght was in Detroit last Thursday to check on some of powerhouse Cass Tech High School’s latest standouts.

As we’d said, 2017 defensive backJaylen Kelly-Powellhad been hoping to get his parents in the building while Lyght was there so they could meet him, but we’re told that wasn’t able to be arranged. Still, we were assured Kelly-Powell’s parents will eventually get to meet with the Irish coaches and that Kelly-Powell will definitely be back in South Bend with his folks before making a final decision.

That’s key for the Irish as some of the other Midwestern powers seemed to have been gaining a significant edge, but Kelly-Powell’s visit for the spring game earlier this month certainly appears to have pushed Notre Dame back to the forefront of his mind. We know a lot of guys say it, but we’re confident academics will play an important role in Kelly-Powell’s decision.

We continue to get mixed vibes on where Notre Dame stands with elite receiverDonovan Peoples-Jones. Some close to the situation believe the Irish are firmly in the race while others aren’t sure what he’s thinking.

“I know he likes the school,” one source said. “He’s happy about it, but he has a lot of things on his mind, a lot of things he has to sort out. He’ll just have to figure them all out. All I can say is that I know he has a lot of schools looking at him. I just hope he can really focus in and start trying to nail this stuff down.”

As expected, 2018 defensive backKalon Gervinreally liked his first trip down to Notre Dame. He’s still waiting on an offer and it doesn’t seem like one is imminent at this point, but if it does come, the Irish will be in the mix for sure.

“He loved it. He’s looking forward to getting back down there again.”

IRISH INTERESTED IN UCLA COMMIT, NEBRASKA TARGET:It’s often said when a high-school prospect commits to a school, it just lets all of the other schools know the competition. That may not exactly be the case withRahyme Johnson.

The 2017 California linebacker committed to the hometown Bruins last summer, but has been linked to Nebraska a ton recently and was in Lincoln for the Cornhuskers’ spring game. Mike Riley and his staff are hoping the commitment of Keyshawn Johnson Jr. will give them a boost in recruiting California guys like Johnson and others.

It seems Notre Dame is ready to get involved with the 6-foot, 210-pounder as well. Johnson said he touched base with Brian Kelly a couple of weeks ago and is expecting the Irish to stop by his school sometime soon.

“I’m looking forward to them coming up to see me,” said Johnson.

Johnson said comfort led him to committing to the Bruins, but talked about the family feel he got while he was in Lincoln as well.

He doesn’t have a timetable for a decision, but Notre Dame’s prestige alone could likely lead to a visit if the Irish decide to join the chase for Johnson.

Additional Analysis From Uyeyama:Johnson is someone who has physical and athletic traits that could possibly see him develop into a unique football player down the line. It's rare to see someone his size play everything from cornerback to wide receiver to linebacker and be athletic enough to stand out at each of those spots.

He clearly is going to be a linebacker prospect at the next level though, and right now projects as a nickel linebacker or a Sam in Notre Dame's scheme. Although he is tall and long, he appears to be very thin and is not a physical football player. In my opinion, he would really have to jump out with his physical development and show more physicality in person in order for the Irish to extend an offer.

I love athletic linebackers and especially the kind of athletic linebackers who can excel in coverage like Johnson potentially could, but I don't know if he is all the way there as a guy who compares to others the Irish have targeted at linebacker in this class.

    Junior Highlights

ND HIGHLIGHTS DRAFT FOR RECRUITS:Josh Talbottmay not be ranked extremely high by the recruiting services, but the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder from Long Beach certainly has an impressive offer sheet that includes schools like UCLA, Oregon, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Florida among others.

Notre Dame sent Talbott a message earlier in the week telling him to pay attention to this weekend’s Draft.

“It said, ‘I know you’ll be tuning into the NFL Draft this weekend. We have 10 guys who will be drafted, two who will go in the first round. Notre Dame can put you on that stage too,’” Talbott explained.

The message turned out to be exactly right with the Baltimore Ravens selecting offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley with the sixth pick in the first round before wide receiver Will Fuller was picked by the Houston Texans with the 21st pick.

Talbott is impressed with what he knows about the Irish and is looking forward to an increase in the communication. He hasn’t taken any visits yet, but expects to hit the road during the summer.

    Junior Highlights

IRISH CHECK OUT 2017 CT ATH:It seems like every time we mentionTarik Black, we talk about how rare it is for a prospect of the 2017 wide receiver’s caliber to come out of the state of Connecticut. Black knows it too and has been hoping his recruitment would bring more eyes to the state. Well, it has.

In fact, as we reported earlier this week, Notre Dame is in the process of evaluating Black’s Cheshire Academy teammate, 2017 athleteC.J. Holmes.

“Holmes is a very intriguing prospect because although he plays running back and is a star there at his high school in Connecticut, he's more than likely not going to play there at the next level,” ISD’s Jamie Uyeyama said. “It's far more likely that he ends up at defensive back and safety is where I see him fitting best. His size and physicality project a lot better to that position.”

But Uyeyama also notes how difficult it can be to get an accurate evaluation on Holmes based on tape alone.

“The biggest question I have on him is his speed,” Uyeyama noted. “He runs away from people on film at times, but I'm not sure if it's the level of competition or if he in fact does have that extra gear. That's why this month is going to be huge for him.

“In addition to coaching staffs like Notre Dame's coming to evaluate him at his school, he'll also compete at The Opening Regional in New Jersey this weekend. He is listed as a wide receiver on the early roster and I would hope that he takes some reps at defensive back as well. If he stands out there in addition to what he looks like on his own high school campus, it wouldn't surprise me to see an offer come his way. If he doesn't, then I'm guessing he would have to compete at camp if he really wants a Notre Dame offer.”

    Junior Highlights

DOTSON IMPRESSED WITH ND:We caught up withJahan Dotsonimmediately after the 2018 Pennsylvania receiver landed his offer from Notre Dame at the Irish’s spring game earlier this month. Dotson was extremely excited about the offer at the time and after checking in with a source close to him this week, it doesn’t sound like the feeling has worn off.

“That was wonderful,” the source said of the trip and offer from Notre Dame. “It was very, very, very nice.

“The school was beautiful. The program, the academic program was beautiful. The coaches were beautiful too. The hospitality was very nice.”

Dotson plans on returning to South Bend at some point, but hasn’t locked down any dates yet.

With offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Texas A&M among several others, Dotson isn’t hurting for options and isn’t in a rush to start narrowing things down either.

We believe Notre Dame will be one of the schools he seriously considers moving forward.

    Sophomore Highlights

McCOY LOOKS UP TO ST. BROWN:Bru McCoy seems to be doing just fine on his own, but the 2019 California receiver is definitely going to listen to the advice of those around him, especially those above him. McCoy has yet to begin his sophomore season at powerhouse Mater Dei, but already has offers from schools like Notre Dame, Oregon and Arizona State.

Paired with 2017 wide receiver Osiris St. Brown, Mater Dei boasts one of the finest wide receiver duos in the country. McCoy has kept his eye on St. Brown, a key Notre Dame target and the younger brother of current Irish wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, since his arrival at Mater Dei last fall.

“He’s just a hard worker,” McCoy said of St. Brown. “The main thing he’s taught me is that with everything going on around you, you’ve got to work hard. You’ve got to grind and put your mind to it and put everything else aside. Everything has a time and place, but right now, it’s grind time.”

The threat of St. Brown and McCoy is magnified by the fact they have one of the top underclassman quarterbacks in the country throwing them the ball in 2019 signal-caller J.T. Daniels. McCoy’s classmate also has an offer from Notre Dame and the topic of the duo playing together on the next level has come up.

“We’ve talked about it, but never really something serious,” said McCoy. “I’m sure there will be a time where we ask, ‘Do we really want to do this? Is it something we could really do? Are we both looking at the same school? Are we interested in the same things?’ It could play out where we play another four years together in college, but it depends how we fit in.”

2017 IL DL PROBABLY WON’T WAIT:Notre Dame Associate Head Coach Mike Denbrock dropped by Lake Park High School in Illinois on Tuesday to check on 2017 defensive linemanJacub Panasiuk.

Panasiuk is the younger brother of Mike Panasiuk, who the Irish recruited briefly last cycle before he ultimately committed to Michigan State. Many believe his little brother will eventually follow suit and if so, it could happen sooner than later.

“(Denbrock) was just checking in and going through his routine,” Panasiuk said. “He just asked my head coach if I was going to prolong my recruitment into the summer and to one-day camps, but I’m not. That was his main question, if I was going to make it out to one-day camps, but I’m not.”

Panasiuk said he’s planning to announce his decision “in June, if not sooner,” which probably wouldn’t be a match for the Irish, who seemed to be hoping to get him in for a camp to evaluate him further.

That said, things can and often do change and if they do, the Irish could end up back in the mix.

“I like Notre Dame. I think it’s a great school from the research I’ve done, but I’m not sure how the coaches are going to evaluate me.”

FIVE-STAR HOOPS PROSPECT HIGH ON ND:Earlier this week, we told you how 2017 Virginia forward Aamir Simms had been waiting for an offer from the Irish. Notre Dame extended an offer to 2017 Indiana swingman Kris Wilkes a day after Simms and it was one he too had been waiting on.

“It was great getting that offer,” the 6-foot-7, 190-pounder from Indianapolis said. “I was waiting haha, but it is a great school and I'm glad they've noticed me for all the work and time I put in my game. Hopefully, I can build a good relationship with the staff and visit soon to check out the campus.”

That’s something the Irish are certainly looking forward to as well with Wilkes dubbed as a five-star talent by multiple recruiting services.

“It's a great Indiana school I hope to build a better relationship with them because I don't know much about them, but it's just good to have them and they will definitely be put in the mix when I start cutting my list down,” Wilkes continued.

The North Central High School standout has plenty of major offers to consider, including schools like Indiana, UCLA, Butler, Maryland and Xavier among others. For now, though, Wilkes says he’s open to all schools.

He does have an idea of what he’ll be looking for when he does begin to narrow his list.

“What position I'll be playing because I like to play the wing and what other players they are thinking about (bringing in),” he said.

Current Irish swingman V.J. Beachem put his name into the NBA Draft, but didn’t sign with an agent and there’s a good chance he’ll be back for his senior season. Either way, the Irish will be looking to replace him soon and they’d be hard-pressed to find a better option than Wilkes.

One source told us flatly, “He’s a stud!”

Yea, best case scenario for him is to go in the third round to the Patriots or Broncos where he won't be rushed into action and can fully heal and get paid the full $5m (tax free at that) and get a rookie contract...that's not quite top 10 draft money but it's more than enough to set him up for life not matter what happens with his knee
