Auguste seems to be an alternate for the combine and dj was obviously invited.

I can like this post because i bet you would think the exact same thing if he picked nd, when the drama starts i just don't really care if the kid picks nd or not. It's like 90% sure that the kid will transfer or just quit on academics

 

He must have REALLY wanted to live in Cali. Only reason that pick makes any sense

 

I would suggest it would give him a chance to rub it in on Stanford, but ND would have done the same thing. And with a better shot at actually beating them.

 

Who knows. Par for course of his recruitment and he may still enroll at another school

VJ Beachem coming back for SR year after gathering NBA feedback, not a surprise but good that it's official.

 

So who starts next year? VJ, Vasturia, Pflueger, Farrell, ?

And is Gibbs going to be starting by conference play? Sounds like he's that good.

 

My guess is they go something like this:

G - Matt Farrell (JR)
G - Steve Vasturia (SR)
F - VJ Beachem (SR)
F - Matt Ryan (SO)
F - Bonzie Colson (JR)

Bring Gibbs and Pfleuger in as backup guards and Burns and Mooney off the bench as forwards. Torres actually contributing would be a big plus.

Don't think Gibbs will start next year unless Farrell struggles - Brey obviously values him a lot per the March playing time and he's had mixed results playing freshmen in big roles. Think we're probably still a tourney team.

 

Watching the Jaylon draft phone call never gets old.

 

I think this is most likely the outcome except I'd switch Ryan out for Pfleuger. That is one bad defensive starting 5 and Rex could provide D/toughness. Ryan could provide instant offense off the bench as the 6th man.

Very excited for the season with all of the new faces playing big roles.

 

It's amazing how humble he is. I'd be insufferable if I was as talented as he is.

IrishLAX2 and anyone else that watches hockey more regularly than I do - do the NBC announcers mention when a guy went to ND more often than other schools? There's a good chance that I just notice it more because I hear "Notre Dame", but it seems to me they go out of their way to mention when someone is a Notre Dame product.

 

They do it a lot for BC, BU, and ND kids.

Mostly because Pierre McGuire is obsessed with those programs. Him announcing some of our games on NBCSN helps.

Every red wings game is guaranteed to have a mention that Riley Sheahan went to ND. Even the regular season broadcasts on the red wings network. I have definitely noticed it. Same thing when Brett Lebda played for the wings too.
