In some fashion beer seems likely to be sold at Gopher football games (again). For background, when games were off campus beer was sold at the Metrodome. When we moved back on campus the University planned to allow beer sales in Suite/Club areas and not to the general public (as most B1G stadiums are run). However, despite approving the stadium with this plan, the state legislature went populist and passed a law that required beer sales to all 21+ patrons or none in the stadium. The U of M had to discount suite/club seats and is losing about $2 million per year versus their initial plan.

Today the state Senate passed a bill that will allow them to sell beer in a limited fashion. The details still need to be hammered out but it likely will be available in clubs/suites and a beer garden that is available to the general public.

After the way the last few years have gone, we need more beer if they expect us to watch Gopher football.

I bet Emma Royds is fucking thrilled that they got a QB who was the preseason favorite to be First Team All ACC last year.
