I'm not the most avid traveler, usually once or twice a month for work. And I love the layout of clt and the free wifi and what not, but I swear they have the most issues with getting a plane from runway to terminal of any of the non huge airports. I feel like I taxi forever here.
So North Davidson is closed off of 277 and I ended up taking a detour through the Belmont neighborhood to get to Midwood. Eye opening experience.
Belmont's aight. with NoDa/Villa Heights housing blowing up, it's a good neighborhood to invest in IMO. Birdsong's new facility is there, Abari opening soon ...
thought this was a pretty well rounded discussion wrt development in CLT http://m.wfae.org/?utm_referrer=https://www.google.com/#mobile/72760
Visited some friends in Charlotte over the weekend, really clean city. Had some pretty good local beers as well. NoDa, 12 from D9 maybe? Had a few others too but enjoyed them all for the most part Lake Norman seems like a really nice area
I had maybe one of the worst beers of all time at sycamore on Sunday. I immediately went home and crushed some hop drops just to get my taste buds back right. It's a shame because that location is amazing, and ultimately it will probably keep them in business for a long time. Also went to the southend publix for the first time, it was a lot roomier than I thought it would be.
i still havent made it to Sycamore yet, but reviews seem sorta mixed. especially whwn it comes to atmosphere, thats probably just hipsters being snooty though. i really like what Birdsong is doing, Up On The Sun saison is a clutch summer beer. Unknown has a new session out, Scratch n Sniff, very fragrant smell but nice clean finish. im becoming a bigger fan of theirs the more i try ...

For me Sycamore has the best atmosphere with so many people around but they have the worst beers out of the different breweries. I am actually a huge fan of Unknown but their atmosphere isn't very good, though they did just re-do things a very little bit to have some sort of outdoor area.
Over the Edge might be my favorite IPA in the city now. they are def coming on strong for me. Silverback Stout out of a can is also very nice ... what else is there to do in Charlotte, if not enjoy the craft beer scene? One of the #1 reasons to live here IYAM ...
What's on the agenda for Wednesday night? Awkward TMB meet up at a brewery? And yes, TobiasFunke-Analrapist yes you are a re-tard.
Unknown is starting to find their groove, I've liked most of what they have put out recently. I wish OMB took more chances because their new compound is amazing. I heard that Sugar Creek is bank rolled by the people that own Capital Grille so that is why they have been doing all the advertising and stuff. Found that interesting, their beers are pretty good too. The other Saturday I woke up early, went for a run with my dog in freedom park, hit a couple breweries, had mac's on the patio, quick stop into Good Bottle...that is how you charlotte.
idk man you might be right we'll have to go sometime. also trivia on wednesday and one of the prizes is 600 tickets so gotta win
yessir, he lives a few blocks away from me. know most of the staff there in general. NoDa is my #1 tap room for sure (as well as the closest) ...
The new brewer at Heist has been putting out some good beer. Shame their original guy already took a shit on their reputation.
its solid, but yeah i cant call out any of their stuff by name, and usually go for food or cocktails ...
have you been in the last 6 months? they canned their master brewer and got a new guy in there. quality has really improved imo.
If you've lived in Charlotte for a year or so and have never been to a brewery then you're certainly doing something wrong. I don't usually stay for more than a beer or two, but I feel like at least a friend or two will be going to one every weekend. Any other fitness factory members? That new location is pimp.
I think most of their stuff is decent, but almost nothing I have had there is very good. Great location and setup and lots of different beers, both of which please the wife. But nothing even approaching Hop Drop or Jalapeno or Babymaker or anything like that. Just average. The Double Pale is what I normally get. It seems like a place where the homebrewer came into money and decided to go all out and start a brewery even though his homebrews weren't that great. Sarah is eye candy at least.
Checked out Wooden Robot in South End ... meh. Only 4 brews two IPAs one pale one saison. Nice facility, average beers. Sipping on a brew at Free Range in NoDa right now, gat damn this place is gonna kill. Way more variety than any other CLT brewery, and it's their second day open
Nice, I really want to try free range. Sounds like wooden robot could be another sycamore, cool place to hang out with average beers. Currently sipping a birdsong jalapeño pale. Fucking love charlotte beer.
