Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus Patrick Sharp said the hardest part of a game like that is how sore your feet get. Taking off skates at intermission only helps a little. and how can you not like Kruger and Shaw
Yea, I had the same deflated feeling as the 2013 Hjalmarsson goal disallowed goal. Just knew it was a loss. No x2.
He also made some unreal saves in that game. So did Anderson. Both of the goals Anaheim got were deflections. Great goalie play from both sides in that game.
Still think this could have been a major. That was a super dangerous spot to hit Kruger. Reminded me of Ovie hitting Campbell in 2010 when he broke his collarbone and ribs.
and I was furious he didnt get another minor for the forearm to Shaw's face. Stoner gets a lot more freedom in the playoffs and thats why he's a more productive player.
Contact was initiated when Kruger was 12 feet away from the boards and was braking. Stoner looked like he was planning on riding him into the boards (which is what the NHL wants in situations like that), but then Kruger decided to turn and fell. Unfortunate, not vicious.
Even so, he should have received an additional minor for the forearm to the face. I'm sure Shaw makes a lot of guys want to punch him, but that was absurd.
yea no complaint about him on the PP. Love that dude. Just needs to be more of it - or there could be - and having a big body out there for a team that generally lacks size/physicality could be a good thing. idk Im still delirious from 4 hours of sleep. Details are fuzzy. My brother just sent me a text about that 5-on-3 that riled me up.
I don't think Shaw is bad at it, just think Bickell is better. A lot harder to push a guy that is 6'4" 230 out of the way than a guy who is 5'11" 165. Being big isn't the only thing that goes into planting yourself in front of the goalie, screening him deflecting shots, etc, but I don't think we've seen him in that role recently. FWIW, Shaw deflected in the first goal last night on Keith's shot from the point.
entire sequence was slick Toews does a no look pass back to Keith, Keith keeps his shot on a low trajectory (which seemed to be more of an emphasis compared to game 1), then Shaw has the perfect re-direct through 5 hole.
Also can we take a moment to give Seabrook credit for what he did on that last goal. Took a bouncing puck moving with pace out of midair and got the shot on net. Really great play by him. I wish more of our defensemen could get the puck on the net.
Hockey is so odd... Game 1 we outplayed the Ducks and got crushed. Game 2 they worked out after the 1st and we won...
yea that was incredible on the fly I thought it was right as puck fell on ice, but that was still in air.
Jordan Schmaltz is returning to ND and basically STL entire HF board has come to the conclusion that he is Hayesing his way to Chicago. The depression of St Louis and Minnesota fans on HF is so tasty. They've finally given up trying to chirp. Except for Truman.
Would be awesome, definitely some opportunity on the Hawks blue line over the next couple of seasons.
We have to get hawksfan50 on TMB. Here is an instant classic on whether or not we should sign middling Sr prospect Nick Mattson: Quote: Originally Posted by Not Now John I've never heard anything positive or negative about Nick Mattson but apparently, according to fiddy, he's the second coming of the Messiah. I never said that because: i) I am not a Christian...I am Jewish.. ...so I would never refer to the 2nd Coming of any Messiah because I believe there never was a First Coming of any Messiah ..except one who was not Jes ii) I believe both my ancient Jewish ancestors of the time of Jesus in the first Century C.E. and even the rabbis of today are simply fools to interpret the Jewish Scriptures as calling for any successful Messiah figure at any time in history with the exception of one prophecy in Isaiah naming King Cyrus of Persia as a Messiah who saves God's people...the Children Of Israel/Jews...that came to be true but was 5 centuries before Jesus...and there never will be another successful Messiah again..successful in that a peron titled Messiah ...whether Jewish or not..actually Saves Jews like Cyrus did. While there seem to be Propecia of Messiah of the seed of David whoa rule as King in some fuzzy distant future..these have nothing to do with saving anything...they seem more like Utopian hopes of some Royalist political factions longing for return of the David Dynasty..but there is no Salvatore function in saving Jews..I have read that there are 59 uses of the term Messiah or its close derivatives in the entire Jewish Holy Scriptures but only one..the one about King Cyrus has a Salvatore prediction..Thus there will be no 2nd Coming and Jesus was never the First Messiah expected to ever save because there was to be no Saviour Messiah after Cyrus. iii) There is a prophecy telling of the Final Messiah claimant...who comes at the End Time...this is in the Book Of Daniel as revealed to Daniel by the angel Gabriel..but that guy who is called Messiah actually fails to save ...he ultimately gets killed by enemy invaders who are attacking Israel...Only after this last Messiah claimer is off stage does the real Saviour of Israel stand up for his people and saves them ...implying defeat of the attack g invaders..and then we get the Resurrection and Time Ends.. That Saviour is named..he is the Sar Hagadol Michael and there are 2 possible interpretation s of who he is...A. He is the angel Michael...captain of God's Heavenly army...as most rabbis would state even if they cannot square the implication of this prophecy with no Messiah on the throne ...unless it comes in the New Time.. OR B. He is just an ordinary Jew ..a human ..not angel ..who rises up after the Messiah figure has failed to save and this fellow does the real Saving ...and then ushers in 5he Resurrection and New Time count begins..There are a host of questions as to what all this means.. ANYWAY...this long bit of prophetic interpretation is to show you that I of all people 9n Earth ..would never use the 2nd Coming analogy to describe any successful. Saviour who is "Messianic" that is announced as a Royal or as a High Priest ...and certainly never equate any hockey player as the 2nd Coming of Jesus who after all failed to save his Jews from the calamities that Rome heaped on them in 2 Wars in the first and 2nd centuries C.E. after Jesus left the scene...the functions of Messiah except for King Cyrus seems to be that they are doomed to fail as Saviour. ...So 8f Jesus does return as the Final Messiah before Time Ends..he is doomed to be killed again..ands that 8s the fate of this Final Messiah. THUS I could never talk of any hockey player using either Second Coming or even First Coming 9f some Messiah...since all Messiah after Cyrus are doomed to fail ... JESUS of course did succeed in saving others ..not Jews ..who bought I to the Christian mythos..But the pagans who converted to Christianity first had to swallow the 8dea he was both Son Of God in the flesh and also the 3 8n 1 version of Div8nity espoused later by the Church..I do not even give that kind of wold "success" as achieved posthumously by the failed Messiah and dead Jew Jesus to any other person let alone a mere hockey player..In this sense Jesus is the epitome of successful saving..except that he did not save his own people and never will ..but they do get saved at The End...just Not by him. ANYWAY..if Mattson is no Messiah ..and no Saviour...even for a mere hockey team like the Hawks..he nevertheless 8s still in my books a worthy prose to sign... He skates well and epitomizes mobile puck-moving dman..what us wro g with that? Can our system prospects T LD be that deep that we simply have no space for him even in Rockford to develop him so that in a year or two he can challenge for a spot in the show with us? OR are they waiting go see if tey get Reilly and what happens with Oduya to determine if there is or is not urgent need for depth at LD?
I figured with a new coach he'd look to leave North Dakota, but the writing is on the wall there. Are we getting Reilly?
Are getting Reilly? Probably. But Minny is in the game too. Brisson owes the Hawks some sweet deals after those TK contracts. Columbus has to be out at this point.
He's the most insane person I've ever run in to on the internet. I just picture him in unibomber style feverishly writing his unspaced manifestos. I'd love to get him and BWC in a room.
Taking pride is message board stuff. Lol. Also HF is full of tards. It's like putting value in regards from rb or your rivals homeboard
What is "taking pride is message board stuff. lol" I don't care about your opinion or "message board stuff" to tag you in the Hawks thread, Truman. I know you'll always be checking anyways.
It seems you care quite a bit to bring the tastiness of their chirping or whatever you called it. To mention it here Also seem to care enough my opinion to bring me up.
What schtick? Discussing sports on a message board? You seem pretty upset for being the fan of the inevitable SCF champs
upset? Why would you think I would be upset? Hawks are cup favorites again and are stealing top prospects from all over the place, including St Louis potentially. Hitchcock is back, which is great. Babs went to TML which solidifies Q as the best coach of the era. Things are pretty good ITT, man.
