Zawaski from the Score mentioned it the other day, they just don't like the guy. Probably have to eat some $
Yeah, I don't think anybody expected him to be good, but not this bad either. I think he's on the block now because Rozsival is healthy again.
Sounds good to me. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...enceman-chicago-blackhawks-second-round-pick/
God damn, Oilers. All these first overall picks and nothing?? Hall, Nugent-Hopkins, Yakupov, McDavid and on the fast track to draft Mathews 1-1. Not to mention Draisaitl and Reinhart were top 5 picks during that time.
do agree with Dineen that TVR stick has been excellent thus far think he can be a playoff-level 3rd pairing guy
At least he's rich Yahoo Sports NHL@YahooSportsNHL 25m25 minutes ago From Stanley Cup in Chicago to fourth line in Columbus: Brandon Saad struggling with Blue Jackets. http://yhoo.it/1ICt1ew #NHL
Yeah, I'm not butthurt about it, more poking fun at the people that acted like part of his level of play with Chicago had nothing to do with skating next to two likely hall of famers.
It's actually kinda silly to claim victory for either side of that argument at this point. Oshie is 5 years older than him.
Yeah, they're both good players and stats were pretty similar through this point of their careers. Saad has just been on better teams with better players around him to this point. Maybe that inflated his stats and perceived value, idk. I'm not going to pretend that I've been following what he's done in Columbus really closely.
Hi Truman I don't think I was ever a part of the Oshie/Saad talks because the bulk of it took place in the NHL thread and I don't visit that thread very often during the regular season.
This is tough cause the roster has been transformed so much. But I would do that swap. Saad is still only 23 and probably going to continue to improve as a player. We have seen what he can do with elite talent around him and I'm not sure how much gas Hossa has in the tank.
drop in? lol you live in our thread. We get worried when you don't post... You have become our unwanted stepchild.
The general tenor of TMB towards Hawks fans is fucked up but I understand success breeds that. I definitely would take Saad over Oshie a hundred times out of a hundred regardless of his slow start in Columbus. Of course playing on a line with future HOFers was hugely beneficial, didn't think that was even in question.
Did we talk about the cap? Let's talk about the cap. It's setting up exactly the way we want it, again. 2015/16 get the young guys going. Panarin, Teuvo, Dano, TVR. 2/4ths of the way there already with signs of life from Teuvo. Then next year we have only Kruger and Shaw to sign (if we even want to- we have replacements for both on <1M deals). Sign an impact 3-4M player, Bickell is easier to move. Next year's team is looking nasty again and I'm not even ready to punt on this year.
Sorry but didn't you say a few weeks ago you wanted this team to take a year off and get a top draft pick to reload? Now you aren't ready to punt the year? I also could have you confused with someone else and if that is the case my apologies
Yea, I think I said that I'd be okay with taking a year off. All I care about this year is the 4 "rookies" Teuvo, Panarin, TVR and Dano, tack onto that list a Kane Art Ross and Hart. If they make the playoffs it's great but it's next year I'm really excited about. We'll see how those 4 develop as the year goes on and if Toews gets it going but they aren't a favorite this year but could still do dmage come playoff time.
Having said that I reserve the right to change my mind if Dano picks it up, Teuvo stays around .5PPG and they pick up a defenseman at the deadline. Then they could be in business. Until that happens I'm just enjoying Panarin and Kane run the league.
He has been fantastic. Does nothing great but does everything well. They are grooming him with big minutes. Will be interesting to see when they make the jump with him. He isn't a guy they bring up in a Rundblad role, he's a guy that comes up to play 15-18 minutes.
I think Stan will address the back 6 and I think this team has more than enough talent to make a run for another cup this season
Just took a peek at the standings and noticed the no good, lucky to make the playoffs Blackhawks are sitting at 2nd in the Central, 3rd in the western conference in goal differential. Funny
