I agree, I'd like to see him back and hopefully those guys could stay healthy enough that he wouldn't be relied on in the playoffs

Who is going to want to have a ton of cap space heading into 2016? LAL, NYK, Boston?

I'd love to see us go after someone like Avery Bradley.

Edit: Nevermind Bradley just re-upped with Boston and would be way too expensive

Who do you guys like in the upcoming draft?

A lot of mocks have the Cavs taking Justin Anderson, and I think he could definitely come in and contribute some solid minutes right away. He'd fill in the spot JR is vacating (with probably less minutes) very nicely, IMO.

I hope the front office takes the approach of finding a guy they like that can help this team immediately and move up into the late teens to get him. Ain't no 2nd rounders making this team anyway.

I like Grant a lot because he can handle the ball and is an excellent passer. He's got enough size to guard a 2. Probably will have to move up a little to get him.

FYI, Kyrie played the most minutes of any Cav this year. I know he's super young still, but he needs his minutes trimmed.

I like Delon Wright out of Utah too. I feel like we need a bigger PG

Tough to trim his minutes when we have shit for PG behind him. We have to find a decent back-up PG this off-season.
Sorry Delly fans, but he simply isn't good.

Not that it means anything but Chad Fords new mock is out. Has Grant off the board to Dallas at 21.

Has Cavs taking PG Delon Wright from Utah and Andrew Harrison from UK.

Has Anderson on the board when the Cavs pick

I watched the least college hoops I've watched in years this year so will admit I have a pretty limited knowledge of these guys. Like what I've seen of Grant

Yeah, I think finding a reliable vet PG to back him up is something they've wanted to do. :idk:

I like Anderson a lot, I just think you'll have an easier time finding a wing in FA than a viable back up PG.

    Would probably go

    1. Grant
    2. Wright
    3. Anderson

    at this point in time.

If it didn't sound so much like Aldridge was leaving I'd say Portland says no but bringing Love home instead of losing him for nothing I think they'd be happy with.

Cleveland say no because Aldridge doesn't space the floor like Love

It's really more about who wants to try and reset their multiple year tax payer status going into the 16-17 & 17-18 seasons where the cap is projected to explode to 89 and 100+ respectively.

Ideally if Love bolts they let JR walk too and use Heyward's contract to bring in a SG with a RELAIBLE jumper (Wade anyone). Then you resign Shump and get your self a solid defensive backup PG to take 20 minutes a game.

    Kyrie
    SG
    LBJ
    Tristan
    Moz

    PG
    Shump/Miller
    Harris/Jones
    Andy at PF/C

I've been hearing rumblings that Sahsa Kahn is interested in coming to the NBA and they own his rights still. He's nothing to write home about but he can't be worse than the Perk/Heyward combo. Plus whomever they draft.

Then you used MLE/biannual exceptions to fill out the roster.

Nope, I looked that up first

BI-ANNUAL EXCEPTION -- This exception is available only to teams that are below the "apron" (i.e., not paying luxury tax, or less than $4 million above the tax line). This determination is made after the exception is used, so a team below the apron cannot use this exception if doing so takes them above the apron. It cannot be used if the team has already used the Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception or the Room Mid-Level exception.

If Wade is going to jump, Cleveland would probably be one of the best fits for both him and the organization. Yes, the knocks are he's going to be injured and probably want too much money, but Shump could really shoulder a lot of his minutes in the regular season, he knows how to play with LeBron as well as anyone on the planet, and the locker room gets another vet with championship experience. Ideally they'd find a reasonably priced stretch four as well.

It's definitely intriguing if Love bolts and Miami can't reach a deal with Wade.

Wade does not have a reliable jumper. Honestly think Cavs should pass on Wade.

Big thing is to keep this core intact, LBJ, Love, Kyrie, TT, Moz.

Fan of drafting Wright out if Utah.

Also don't forget while the Haywood contract is an ideal way to bring a 10 mil guy on the team worst case they cut his ass and save the cap room.

Hell they can combine it with their draft pick to move up in the draft while taking a high salary shithead back. You're a middling lottery team (8/9-13)with a questionable high dollar roster and you aren't in love with anyone in the draft. You can drop back, remove a salary cap tumor, and gain 10 million in cap space by cutting Heywood. How do you pass up that offer? Shit NBA GMs have gotten less for a lotto pick in the past (not based in any factual information is just sounds right).
All I'm saying is that contract is a hell of an asset right now and Griffin made a hell of a nice trade last year getting that. Anyway you slice it Heywood is never seeing the home locker room in the Q again.

JR is fine as the fourth option. They needed him to be the second option in the finals and that coupled with GS's defense turned him into playoff mo williams. Wade can't shoot 3s and he's a lock to miss~30 games. And even with the abridged seasons, he ran out of gas by the end of each of Miami's final two playoff runs

Days after the end of the Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers are working on upgrading their roster by shopping the potentially valuable contract of Brendan Haywood, and -- in some cases -- offering it along with the 24th overall pick in Thursday's draft, sources told ESPN.com.

Haywood's $10.5 million contract is not guaranteed for next season if he's waived by Aug. 2. This could be attractive to a team looking to either offload salary now or use it as part of another deal that could be executed during free agency in July.

Kyrie Irving. The Cavs have a number of free agents, including backup point guardMatthew Dellavedova and starting shooting guard Iman Shumpert.

General manager David Griffin said Thursday he'd be looking to add more facilitators this summer, especially after the Golden State Warriors hurt the Cavs in the Finals with their various playmakers.

"The one thing that we did see in Golden State, and it was something that was very difficult for us to deal with, is they have an incredibly versatile team of multiple facilitating playmakers," Griffin said. "That's something we're going to continue to work upon. The more playmaking facilitators you have that know how to play the game, the better off you are, and I think you saw the value of that in the team that ultimately did win."

Any trade involving the Cavs' first-round pick could not be executed until after the draft. They are precluded from trading their pick before making the selection because they already traded their 2016 first-round pick in the deal to acquireKevin Love last summer. That pick now belongs to Philadelphia.

Another asset the Cavs could use in a deal this summer are the rights to Russian center Sasha Kaun. The 30-year-old Kaun, who played at Kansas, was drafted in the second round in 2008. He played the last seven seasons for CSKA Moscow but is now a free agent and wants to come to the NBA. He averaged 9.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 30 Euroleague games this season and projects as a backup in the NBA.

I won't believe DWade is coming until I see him in a Cavs uni

I'm not sure how much a 34 year old can help us but it'd be cool to see plus it'd make Miami fans crazy which I'm always in favor of.

I'd probably pass and try to move up to get Grant or Wright in the draft. I'm really high on both of those guys but I am terrible at picking out who is going to be good in the NBA.

I thought Derrick Williams and Michael Kidd Gilchrist were both going to be studs.

Gilbert will have to increase the interest rate on those predatory loans. Not sure if $299 million would be more than the Nets paid in salary and taxes.

Definitely should trade the first round pick with Haywood for a veteran rotation guard that can knock down threes. A solid proven role player would be much more valuable then a late first round rookie next year.
