I can see them getting complacent if they win big again. I still think there's the chance it could go 5.
I don't see them getting complacent for an entire game. Think the Raptors take game 3 and it ends next Wednesday.
I just want to profess my Kyrie love. Watching him dribble and go to the hole is my favorite NBA thing to watch.
That was a really frustrating game. I expect we'll come back and they'll focus on getting Kyrie and Kevin going early.
a little nervous for game 4 now, but it's hard to imagine love and kyrie combining to play as poorly as they did tonight. just kind of a perfect storm. JR and LeBron were really the only bright spots and even lebron wasn't as sharp as he can be. just didn't look ready to match toronto's energy tonight. still, as dialed in as toronto was, they still only managed 99 points. this is a win with slightly below average performances from love/kyrie.
I don't think there's reason for concern we'll make our adjustments and would be very surprised if we didn't shoot significantly better.
I really would have liked to have seen them use Shumpert and Delly on DeRozan more especially in the end of the first/2nd quarter when he was getting going. Someone has to get in his face when he starts playing that.
I'm not really upset or concerned. You had to expect Toronto was going to feed off its hot crowd, and the Cavs were due for a game where their shooting finally cooled off. I'm actually pleased they dropped a game before the Finals. This team tends to lose focus when things are going well, and I'd rather they have feel like they need to buckle down now and enter the Finals locked in.
I don't that I'm pleased that they lost, I would have liked to continued to dominate. But if they're able to come back out and get back to form it'll be nice to see they can do a major refocus.
we're clevelanding the shit out of this. all common sense says we blow them out in game 5 and get our shit together on the road in game 6. but i'm bracing for a 2010 boston level apocalyptic meltdown
Lowry and DeRozan are playing at another level. I have no idea why JR didn't try to make Lowry go left at the end
The reason we lost was that joke of a defense we played in the first half. I feel a little better going forward since we locked that up in the 2nd half and they just made some really difficult shots. Shumpert has to play more and I think you have to give Mozgov some minutes. They were eating us alive in the paint.
Plying Frye so long really hurt imo. Used up his super powers and then gave up some key rebounds that Tt would of got.
Someone talk me off the ledge. We've become solely dependent on the 3, we have no answer in the paint, we can't stop DeRozan or Lowry, and LeBron's getting his passive aggressive "these fucking guys" mindset. I'm feeling like they give us all we can handle in Game 5 now that they know they can be us, and if we go to Toronto down a game, I just don't know man. We haven't really shown much ability to overcome adversity yet.
we played a lot better in the second half. lowry and derozan won't both play that well again. it's better to go through this now than the finals. that's my sunshine pumping take. honestly, if i were an objective fan i'd probably shrug at this result and expect cleveland to win in 6. all will be fine if we blow them out in game 5 and i expect that to happen
My guess is probably slightly Cleveland on a national average. Curry is an extremely likable star but I think any ill-will from the Decision is gone for LeBron, people hate Draymond, and there's good sentiment from non-TMBers who feel bad for Cleveland for sucking so long. Plus, tie goes to the underdog normally for rooting interests and CLE is clearly the underdog.
You'd really still describe Curry as "extremely likable" I'd extremely like for him to get embarrassed.
TMBers are early hate adopters. Most of us don't like the Warriors but think most of the general public still loves him, his wife, and his daughter and likes seeing him win
We have 4 of the top 19 PER rated players so far this post-season (LBJ - 2, Irving - 9, Frye - 12, Love - 19).
Fuck man I don't know what happened to the offense. We went from free flowing, make the extra pass, beautiful movement and open look to iso pull-ups and missed layups. I don't think we'll shoot below 40% again, but today didn't give me any faith. Why isn't Frye a good match up this series? What happens to JR every time he takes the floor in the finals? Where did Delly's shooting touch go? When did Shump become a complete offensive non-factor? Their whole supporting cast looked like they could have been all-stars and we just looked like scrubs out there. Not ready to turn it off yet, but this doesn't feel good
gameplan looked like it was straight out of last year's finals on both ends, which is baffling. we took out curry/thompson which is great, but any competent rec league player could have made some of the shots we gave to their supporting cast. offense was more baffling to me. it literally looked identical to what we did last year with no bench and no love/irving. ball movement was non-existent. kyrie was terrible on offense for the most part. few good takes and put some pressure on klay, but way too many selfish possessions. thought love was the only real bright spot. he was solid and more than held his own on defense. the "supporting" cast was fucking atrocious. think we'll play a lot better in game 2, but not sure it will matter.
Hey Clevelanders, I have a friend going to the Game 3 next week and going to be in downtown Cleveland for a couple of days. Any recommendations in places to eat and/or visit?
Not a Clevelander and have never eaten there, but my brother who is a local raves about "Panini's". Believe it is downtown by the Q http://paninisgrill.com/locations/cleveland-west-6th/
She's probably trying to see the best tourist type stuff and have good food before and after the game. Not really a beer drinker.
If he likes music, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a great place to spend a few hours downtown. One of the days that is not Game 3 - I recommend he has dinner and a couple beers at Great Lakes Brewing Company (about a mile west from downtown over the bridge) and then goes out on West 25th St. (Bier Market, Market Garden Brewery, ABC Tavern all bars there). West 25th is a great street for bar hopping (I went to high school on West 30th a couple blocks away right next to Great Lakes).
For dinner downtown, she won't go wrong with Michael Symon's Lola, or the Greenhouse Tavern. http://www.lolabistro.com http://www.thegreenhousetavern.com If she doesn't go to Slyman's (http://www.slymans.com) for lunch while she's in town, she's a communist, and you should never talk to her again. Cash only, rude service, but incredible food. Get there early and get it to go; people line up around the block for the food. Don't go to Panini's unless you want a generic sports bar experience you could get in any city in America. Decent sandwiches, but honestly nothing unique or outstanding about it in any way. If you really want to try it, get it at the airport before flying home.
Is Melt still considered awesome or have people started not liking it because it's so popular? Was like the big lunch spot when I was in college. http://meltbarandgrilled.com/
