http://uproxx.com/gammasquad/batman-v-superman-r-rated-theatrical-run/ So they may release the R rated version to theaters to test how easily fools are separated from their money.
Not ashamed to say I would see it. Not becuase of the R-rating. That doesn't appeal to me either way, but I want to see that 30 minutes of extra footage that supposedly makes for a smoother and better-edited film.
I suppose a matinee would be cheaper than buying the Blu-ray. That said, a simultaneous release of an R and PG13 version would be interesting to see.
Apparently one scene will focus on why he didn't hear Martha being kidnapped. If Superman can hear everything going on in the world how doesn't he go insane?
Zach Synder just doesn't understand Superman, or he just hates Supes with a passion. The point of Superman is that he's SUPPOSE to try to hear everything. Superman in the Comics would NEVER say that he purposely ignores the pleas of people needing help because he can't save everyone, he's Superman, even if he can't actually save every single person, he would at least try. Synder thinks his version of Clark Kent is Hitchcock or something.
I knew he had super hearing. I guess I didn't realize it meant he could hear, at least in some versions, everything in the world. I have to think this would lead to him mentally snapping and becoming a world dictator, as he has in some of the other realities.
30 minutes of Batfleck flipping tires, dropping rock bottoms, and going on a running riot would be worth another viewing.
He has control over it. My problem with Snyder is he's basically saying his version of Superman has decided to just say "fuck it" and stopped TRYING to hear anything altogether because it would bum him out that while he's stopping this school bus from falling off a cliff, someone's grandma got shot across town, so he'd rather the bus full of school kids and the grandma ALL die as long as he didn't know about it.
The over analyzing of a superhero has got to be the most hipster faggot thing I've ever seen on this board. It's a superhero movie for fucks sake not everything is going to be realistic in it.
Did we watch the same movie? There's a montage an hour into the film where Superman is saving people all across the world. It's not like he threw his hands up and stopped helping for his own selfish motivations, the whole first half of the film was dedicated to the argument of whether or not there should even be a Superman...I mean Charlie Rose literally asks Senator Finch, "Must there be a Superman?" As far as I'm concerned he's just as flawed as the rest of us, in Snyder's attempt to make him a flawed deity. He had no issue eavesdropping on Bruce and Alfred at Luthor's party but didn't hear the timer on the bomb at the Senate hearing. Why? After he tells Lois, "I should've stopped it, I just wasn't listening." He has the ability to do all of those things, he just hasn't realized that he can.
I would actually guess the bomb had a detonation switch that operated by a cell phone, so there'd be no timer to hear. But his reaction actually makes my point. If his hearing is as super powered as they made it seem, he'll go insane not being able to respond to everything.
Movie was originally 4 hours long. Probably should have been split into two movies. http://www.provideocoalition.com/art-cut-batman-v-superman-editor-david-brenner/
My issue is with Snyder's director's cut explanation of why he didn't hear Martha, he's going down a route of turning Clark Kent into Will Smith's Hancock with his explanation of "he didn't hear Martha because he didn't want to listen to the millions of other people crying out for help"
http://www.avclub.com/article/zack-snyder-cut-scene-batman-v-superman-being-too--235048 “I kind of like the idea that he’s taught himself not to look, because if he looks it’s just neverending, right?” Snyder said, even though waging a “never ending battle” is pretty much part of the character’s DNA. “You have to know when, as Superman, when to intervene and when not to. Or not when not to, you can’t be everywhere at once, literally you can’t be everywhere at once, so he has to be really selective in a weird way about where he chooses to interfere.”
Awesome. I'm sure this has been said before but I think Batman will play a lot bigger of a role in Suicide Squad than we've been so far led to believe
I got really pissed when Martha told him "be what they want". Then made the opposite point "or be nothing". That's not the "truth, justice, and american way" I grew up loving.
I assumed he'd be in flashback sequences. Like he's the reason they're all in prison and it shows him capturing them
Just saw the movie last night. 6:30pm showing and there were only 2 other people in the theater. I actually fell asleep in the beginning of the movie (a loud noise woke me and I went and got more coke). I didn't hate it but it was disjointed for sure. I would have liked to see more of SM vs BM one on one but I also liked WW. As a kid growing up Justice League was the top cartoon show, I hope they can do a good job with this. ps. had to leave right at end of movie. Was there an extra scene?
This is just such an awful version of Superman and that's one of the biggest problems with this movie
I disagree. Justice League cartoon version is top notch. Him and batman went together very well going all the way back to the worlds finest movie.
