Not really, he just had no one playing with him. Even though we were supposed to be playing a "4-4-2" I've never seen him that isolated. We have looked like a team that gives no shits about the league. It's pathetic to watch. There wasn't one player on the field today that we can say was anymore than "decent at best"
It's been easier to get excited watching Leicester than it has for our league matches for quite a while now. It's kind of weird experience for us Americans that we've still got something to get excited for but some of the matches really don't mean anything to us at this point. We might as well start getting players to get intentional yellow cards that are one away from the limit and serve their suspensions to make sure they're available for the semifinal.
For some reason I started thinking about our opening match from last season against Leicester. McGeady scored a world class goal, Naismith was in the form of his career but what stands out the most was how devestating it was to only draw against such a crap team. Look at all of them now.
Too bad Valenica let Gary Neville (and demoted Phil who was there a few months prior to his brother) go or we could do a straight swap.
My first call wouldn't be to a manager above us in the table, but all the way down to a team even on points but with a worse goal differential. But privately so it is less embarrassing when he says no.
The whole ordeal over the last couple days with Baines and Roberto just reeks of a Roberto meltdown. Baines told a journalist that the team currently lacks chemistry. Something so obvious that someone who hasn't watched us for months could say with confidence just going by the results. Roberto proceeds to tell everyone that Baines' comments were misinterpreted. Pretty bold move coming from someone whose first language isn't English. Baines also issued an apology which makes it all the more strange.
Which is more of a sure thing? Payet scoring from a free kick or the other team scoring within a minute of a Stones fuck up?
A CDM partnership of McCarthy and Barry is just asking for a bunch of sending offs throughout the season.
Today's lineup might be the weakest one we've fielded since Kuban Krasnador came to Goodison. I've never even heard of a couple of the kids on the bench. Remember how excited we all were after the last time we played Southampton?
its the lineup you put together on fifa when you get that scheduling glitch that gives you 3 matches in 4 days
I know hindsight 20/20 etc but how the hell did Roberto convince the board to spend a decent amount of money on Niasse? He's basically the combination of Roberto's two worst transfers (Kone and McGeady) an African striker coming from the Russian League.
Maybe Chelsea will swap Miazga for Stones. It's always nice to have an American on the squad from our prospective.
He's been absolutely embarrassing ever since the new Iranian became majority shareholder. I think he's out even if he wins the cup.
Sack him today IMO. I've been his biggest supporter for a while but it's time to part ways. Make Big Dunc the interim until the end of the season.
I've also been a big Martinez fan for a long time but this is indefensible. No way he coaches EFC next season IMO.
The only way I see us having a chance at beating Man U this weekend is the bump teams normally get immediately following the sacking of a manager.
