What a great fucking game yesterday. Didn't get to watch until late last night Seems like Iniesta should be ok from post game reports. Hoping Porto knocks off Bayern. Have to think we our favorites in all remaining competitions this season
Alba sent off for saying "always to me." That's pretty hilarious. Players were not bashful for trashing the ref after the game too.
messi suarez and neymar have combined for 101 goals, surpassing messi henry and eto'o's 100 goals of the 2008-2009 treble season. today is also the first time they've all scored and assisted in the same match. and the second half is about to start lol
Game today was ridiculous. We are peaking at the right time. Unfortunately, a team like Bayern can knock anyone off so it may be null and void. This team is playing as good at the 2011 squad
Copa ends like 2 or 3 weeks earlier than normal this year so they might. Plus Suarez is still banned from int'l play so he should be there regardless.
Have to think this is the squad we roll out Wednesday. I like it. Only question would be Mathieu over Masch. Mathieu is a little more prone to falling asleep at times, but is probably the better defender
Scored tickets to the D.C. game today. If any of you plan on going I have a few extras so let me know.
What? When? I can be convinced to get up to DC. It's only been a decade or so since last I was there.
Trident that we've become accustomed to finally showed at the end of the 2nd. All game long each one seemed like he was trying to do everything on their own.
I actually think Pep got the tactics right besides the first 15 minutes. Sometimes there's nothing you can do against a player like Messi.
http://www.fcbarcelona.com/club/det...n-the-world-and-poised-to-take-over-as-leader Prestigious American journal Forbes, which specialises in the world of business and finance, has published its annual study, where it analyses the financial value of the biggest football clubs in the world, and where FC Barcelona’s staggering economic development is patently clear, with the club now valued at 3,163 million dollars, just 100 million short of Real Madrid, the smallest gap for the last five years. In the last five years, FC Barcelona has risen from 5th to 2nd in the ranking of the world’s most valuable clubs after multiplying its value by three, and is poised to take over at top spot in future studies. In three years, FC Barcelona’s value has risen by 21.5% while Real Madrid’s has dropped by 1.5%. In the 2013/14 season, FC Barcelona had an income of 530 million, its highest ever, and a profit of 41 million, the second highest in club history. In four years, its debt has been reduced by 143 million.
A little nervous about today. The 3-0 score line didn't really project the actual flow of the game last week. I think Pep got the tactics right, but Messi just went ape shit and turned everything upside down. They really closed us down well and made us build everything from the back four, negating our midfield
Disagree. Barca were dominant. Also think Barca were way better and closing them down and putting tons of pressure on their back four when trying to pass out. Doesn't mean I'm not nervous about today.
we can legitimately criticize zubizarreta for plenty of reasons, but bravo, rakitic, and ter stergen were great signings.
Great value with all those signings. I've been thinking about that as well over the last few months. While Suarez cost a bunch, he is the difference is the attack for me. Allows Messi to do his thing while not over compensating. Suarez's work off the ball is the thing creating all these goals.
remember when you (rightly) criticized messi for dropping back on offense? we're very dangerous now when he does that. glad to see we can evolve.
Suarez occupies so many of defending teams CBs that it allows Messi more time on the ball and more space. Both goals tonight came from an initial ball from Messi to Suarez, which was probably the best play of either goal.
As awesome as beating Madrid in the final would have been, the possibility of losing has me over today's result taking all of that out of the equation
Barça can win the treble, madrid can be trophy-less, messi/suarez/neymar end up having way less rest for the copa america, and james is going to be 100% fresh. i'd say today was a good day.
