Every single report from last year up until this week has said that he prefers a move to Spain. I don't see that suddenly shifting, especially since we won't be in the CL next season. I wouldn't even know what to do with myself if we were to sign him but I'm really not even entertaining it as a possibility at this point.
If he really does want the competition, he'd come to the Prem. CL results not withstanding, the Prem is far superior to any other league, particularly La Liga who has 2 giants, 2 decent teams, and then 16 cupcakes.
If it's RM or MU, I'm good either way as long as it nets us one of them. In addition to the transfer fee (80-100 million pounds), they're reporting a 250k wage.
So based on current signings and roster this would my best guess at the starting lineup I don't love our midfield options and think that is where we should be spending.
Press conference is over - dig at lvg, says he doesnt hide behind philosophies (fantastic) - prepared for the youth question, says he has a great track record of not gettig injuries so he hasnt has to promote due to necessity. Only due to "conviction" and has a list of 49 players he has promoted. He pulled out a paper with the list of players. - prefers specialists and not multifunctional players -3/4 players acquired that are targeted, says we will get 4th before aug 31st - regarding rooney (hugely important): says he is not a 6, not even an 8. He is a 9,9.5,10. But never a 6. Says "even my pass is great without pressure" Loved the little dig on lvg, loved that he says rooney is no midfielder and that its up top only for him. He seemed more reserved. But all in all got some important answers. Cant believe he is our manager. Are we #pogfam for the 4th player? Who knows. Cant wait for this season.
Who all do we expect to lose? I have seen very little in the way of rumors about current players outside of Mata.
i hope we keep blind, i still think he's valuable. also would like to keep jones... just for his faces. the rest can go.
i'm also going back and forth on matuidi, if he's the guy we are actually targeting. i'm not sure i want him.
So Gianluca DiMarzio of Sky Sports is reporting that United are prepared to make a $120m (euros) offer to Juvie for Pogba - and that United & Pogba already have an agreement in principle on wages per season for somewhere around $13m net of taxes. In the past I would've dismissed this as just another player feigning interest in United to extort more money out of his current team or another, but DiMarzio has been spot on on many of his reports lately. Let's hope.

Isn't the two tone look paying homage to the Newton Heath days? I'm not the biggest fan of the look but I see where they are going with it. Hopefully it looks better out on the pitch.
Going the Arsenal route with a pointless stripe down the middle, it seems. At least their version is the same shade on either side of the stripe though, so not a complete abortion like the United home. They both have some suspect 3rd kits though.
i mean adidas pretty much said they were going to make jerseys for us that 'created discussion' or something kinda lame like that. they did just shell out a lot of money so i see why. they still suck though.
That home kit is just an abomination the more I look at it. The collar and the end of the sleeves need a white outline or something. It just looks cheap. Like some off-brand knockoff that you would buy at Sports Authority.
Almost bought a training shirt last night at the adidas store. The training shirts were more expensive than the jerseys though.
Beat Wigan 2-0 in first exhibition game of the year. I didn't watch it, but here is the Gaurdian's summary. Spoiler The José Mourinho era at Manchester United began with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Wigan Athletic, with goals from Will Keane and Andreas Pereira settling a low-key pre-season friendly. Missing his Euro 2016 contingent, Mourinho still used 22 players on his touchline debut with the club and will be content with what, in truth, was little more than a glorified training exercise. United controlled a goalless first half before the goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen saw his kick charged down by Juan Mata in the 48th minute and Keane nabbed the first goal of Mourinho’s reign. Pereira found the top corner nine minutes later to secure the result, though Mourinho will surely have been more interested in bright showings from the new arrivals Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly, as well as the England left-back Luke Shaw’s first appearance in 10 months following a double leg fracture. The DW Stadium was far from full for Mourinho’s bow but a sizeable contingent of United fans had made the short journey, joined by the club’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward. Having had disappointing experiences with David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, Woodward was present for what he will hope is the beginning of a bright new chapter. Kick-off had to wait for the mandatory airing of “Will Grigg’s on Fire” in honour of the Latics’ Northern Ireland striker, but once the whistle blew it was only a matter of seconds before Mourinho’s name was bellowed from the away end. United lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Mkhitaryan given licence to roam behind the striker. He was quick to impress with some neat touches around the box, but Stephen Warnock went in hard and fair on Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard to set out Wigan’s stall. United dominated a goalless 45 minutes but created just two clear chances, Mkhitaryan teeing up Memphis to poke wide before hooking over himself from 10 yards following Lingard’s cross. Wigan’s best response saw Grigg lay off for Emyr Huws, whose shot was bravely blocked by Bailly. United made seven changes at the break and two substitutes combined for the opener – Mata charging down Jaaskelainen’s kick and squaring for the former Wigan loanee Keane to roll into a vacant net. Will Keane tucks away an easy opener. Photograph: Matt West/BPI/Rex/Shutterstock Having broken the deadlock a second goal arrived in short order. This time Ashley Young’s free-kick was mis-hit by Ander Herrera and fell for Pereira, who buried his shot into the top corner from 12 yards.
Mkhitaryan looked lively in some of the highlights that I've seen. He played through the middle and not on the wing where he will be most of the time tho. Had several nice runs, moves, and passes. He's gonna be a good player for us, so happy we got him.
Does he make Mata redundant? We all know how TSO feels about Mata anyway, so do you expect him to be sold this summer?
I honestly have no idea, seen conflicting reports on whether he will be sold or not. If I was a betting man then I'd say he will eventually go just based on their history. Always liked Mata, would like to see him go to a good team if he is sold.
I think it's just a matter of finding the team that will pay for him. He has nowhere to play in the 4-2-3-1 that Mou plays.
Saw rumors that Mourinho wants Fabinho. Just came to post that I bought him in FIFA and was disappointed.
