On the fence as to whether I want an Ibra jersey knowing this may be his only season in Manchester or go with the future in buying a Pogba jersey. Having bought Schweinsteiger and Memphis shirts last year hoping my 2016 selection is a better choice....
Even if he's only here one year it's still a name I want on the back of my shirt. The guy is one of the best footballers in recent memory.
Reading in a few places that Sunderland have agreed to a fee of £5m for Paddy McNair and Donald Love may also be included in the deal. Thats a pretty good sell if they're really getting that much. I also read that MUFC have told the Black Cats that Januzaj is only available for loan.
According to the Manchester Evening News Juventus paid all of Raiola's fees, so they only pocketed £62 million off the deal.
@MUFCscoop saying United is getting £6m each for McNair and Love from Sunderland. We may be able to recover our entire Pogba cost and then some if we offer Fellaini to Moyes/Sunderland.
McNair and Love to Sunderland is official. Some quotes from Mou on how Pogba will fit into the team: Manchester United @ManUtdUpdates_ 4h4 hours ago Mourinho: "We have Carrick. Very stable. One man to play in front of the defenders. We didn't have the second midfield player." #MUFC Manchester United @ManUtdUpdates_ 2h2 hours ago Mourinho: "We have people like Schneiderlin, Herrera, also play as that, they have experience of the PL but after that we have no 10s" #MUFC Manchester United @ManUtdUpdates_ 2h2 hours ago Jose Mourinho: "Juan Mata we have, we have possibly Rooney, we have Mkhitaryan, we have no 10s." #MUFC Manchester United @ManUtdUpdates_ 2h2 hours ago Jose: "Pogba drives the midfield forward. We have passers, we don't have runners with the ball. So he's a profile of player we found." #MUFC
I don't remember who the source was but I saw a tweet that he was being groomed as Valencia's replacement.
So the FA has apparently banned Pogba from making his debut against Bournemouth on Sunday because he picked up two yellows in last seasons Coppa Italia, resulting in a one game suspension, which they have decided to transfer to the Premier League. So no Pogba or Smalling on Sunday due to suspensions.
Honestly wish it was permanent. I guess the club is reluctant to sell him because they don't want to risk another Pogba situation.
I honestly wasnt expecting to see him outside of a 15 minute sub appearance so this seems okay to me.
Agreed. Just took me by surprise because I had never heard of that rule or seen it applied before. Ironically, Pogba wouldn't be suspended for the first game of the season if he were still at Juventus because the Italian FA only applies yellow cards picked up in the Coppa Italia to that particular competition. The English FA doesn't distinguish between the league and league cup so the ban is applied to first league match
Budding Pogfam x Zlatan romance is better fanfic that I could've dreamt up in my wildest fantasies God this season will be fun
Supposedly we are looking at making a move for Jose Fonte from Southampton. Solid experienced player, would be a nice addition at CB to help ease through the growing pains with Bailly.
Lingard with a knock, doesnt dress today. DDG Bailly Blind Valencia Shaw Mata Fellaini Herrera Rooney Ibra Martial
That's a real meh lineup IMO. It's going to be interesting to see who gets dropped to the reserves when Pogba, Smalling, and Lingard back.
There has been zero shape in the midfield. Mata scored, but what is he doing all the way on the left?
Yep, no presence in the middle of the park. Wonder how we'll solve that? Not sure if it's José direction, but the lack of crossing is notable.
Problem is that Fellaini is constantly charging into the box so the midfielders don't have a square pass or drop in the final third. Herrera pulls up his head and is like "where the fuck is everyone?"
Can't decide how I feel about Wayne. Think he does a lot of little things well. Zlatan and he and already linking well. Way too wasteful with possession lately though.
Does it make me look emotionally shallow if I say that 66 minutes into game 1 of the 16-17 season has erased the horrible memories of the last 2 years?
Outside of the goal, Rooney has been absolutely terrible. Like you could replace him with me and get the same results terrible.
About as good of a start as we could have hoped for. Add pogfam to the lineup next week and lets really see what we have.
I dont care that bailly is going to pick up a red card soon. I love all his challenges. Fellainu played well. Rooney so clearly again the weakest link.
Rooneys role needs to evolve into becoming a 60-65 minute player or a second half super sub. He does not need to be staying in the whole game like today. Get him the United goal scoring record and phase down.
Finally got to sit down and watch the game. Bailly and Valencia were both great. Fellaini was solid. Rooney is fucking garbage. Mata getting the start over Mkhitaryan was surprising and confusing. Mkhitaryan is too good to not be getting consistent starts. Over/under on Bailly red cards for the year is at 1.5. Dude gives zero fucks when he tackles and I love it.
