They needed an English player for homegrown rules and had to over pay big time.

Yeah. Woody's learning. Very happy with the signings so far, and him digging his heels in about de gea is great.

Searching De Gea on twitter is pretty amusing to see all the Real fans be really cunty about how it doesn't matter and how they can't wait until they sign him without losing Ramos since that was rumored to be a sticking point.

If it was anyone but you guys I'd be 200% rooting for him to stay, even so I'm pretty close

Surprising to hear United says there has been no official bid, guess Real has their own plan out there to get him

I really like the business we have done so far. Quality players without completely breaking the bank. Darmian and Schneiderlin are both only 25 and Schweinsteiger gives us a lot of experience heading into UCL. It is going to be interesting to see what we do for another forward. I am more worried about signing a world class CB.

With Van Persie moving on its time for a new jersey, I'm thinking either Depay or Schweinsteiger will do nicely

Memphis is the choice. Personally if I were a United fan I'd consider Blind. Keep it Dutch

Surprised Valdez isn't going. You would think they would want to get him game time with the uncertainty around DDG.

Why even move these guys for that kind of money? Sounds like chicharito will go for cheap as well. Would make more sense if they were surplus but there's a need at striker.

I would also like to keep ADM. We only have a handful of players capable of playing on the wings. Young & Valencia are veterans who are solid but not world betters. Adnan and Memphis are young and unproven.
