ADM to PSG looks like its a done deal. Its going to be interesting to see who they look for as a replacement. Right now the only winger being mentioned is Pedro which I am not a big fan of. Would love to see if we could leverage ADM into Lucas Moura
Pedro is probably a more steady performer but he has nowhere near ADM's talent. Very meh swap if that's the play. Honestly, short of Ronaldo, Bale, Robben, there aren't too many better than an in form ADM. This kind of sucks.

Better yet, go here and look , should be set to see most assists in last season. http://www.whoscored.com/Regions/25...erStatistics/England-Premier-League-2014-2015
Unless we bring in another world class type of player after losing ADM I really think we are going to struggle for goals. We have very little coverage for Young and Rooney.
Perhaps I'm just being overconfident here, but I don't think LVG/Ed let ADM walk without having a contingency plan in place. It's just not good business.
As do I. I just hope the list is a lot longer than Pedro. I expect to see Nicolas Gaitan's name to pop up again for the 3rd summer.
These guys are typically reliable... @TransferSources: Barcelona have told Pedro that he is free to leave the club & join Manchester United for £22m.
SHOTS FIRED! SHOTS FIRED! @TransferSources: Roy Keane on Ángel Di María: "It's not a football move, it's a lifestyle move. It tells me the player is weak and his wife runs his life." EDIT: not sure if this was from today or in the past. Reading conflicting stories about it. Still funny nonetheless.
Few articles coming out with an interview with LVG, says he still wants a superstar type player. These last few weeks of the transfer window should be very interesting for us.
Valdes should be sold soon. Manchester United @ManUtd 1m1 minute ago BREAKING: We're pleased to announce Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero has signed on a three-year deal #WelcomeRomero
Starting 11 vs PSG Manchester United @ManUtd 7m7 minutes ago United XI: De Gea, Darmian, Jones, Blind, Shaw, Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Mata, Memphis, Young, Rooney #MUtour Is this game really not being televised in english?
Fox Sports 1 is showing it at 11 I think. Also it is on ESPN 3 live. Not sure why you would have our game and the MLS All Star game scheduled for the same night. Interested to see the midfield duo tonight. I think that is who starts the first game.
I don't get the point of having Fox Sports 2 if they aren't going to use it as an overflow channel when there are conflicts between game times. There can't possibly be more people that want to watch UFC reruns than a live game between two top clubs.
I'm seeing some reports on twitter that Di Maria has been sold to PSG for £44.2m, so about a 15 mil loss. No confirmation yet but hopefully the money is put to good use if true.
I hope herrera's lack of playing preseason isnt indicative of how lvg is thinking we should play going forward. I think he is still the most vital creative cm we have.
Blind is definitely starting at LCB "I think I shall play Shaw with Darmian, and with Daley Blind. The right central position I have to consider. I am very pleased with the performance of Matteo Darmian, and you can see he can play on the right and left. "Also, a benefit of this year's tour is that we don't have any injuries. Last year I was forced to use, for example, Tyler Blackett and Jesse Lingard in the first Premier League match. "Now, I have a wider selection and I can use everybody who I think I have to use. There is more competition now and there is more balance in the selection. I have a lot of confidence to start the competition."
Are you guys going to sign a striker? We really need Chicharito in the squad as we have no strikers that don't get hurt every other game. -concerned West Ham United fan
From ESPN: Top Story: Van Gaal making Di Maria exit difficult Just when you thought we may be nearing the end of the protracted transfer of Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain, the deal has hit a snare. Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is none too pleased about Di Maria's "disappearing" from the club's preseason festivities, and the Dutchman intends to make the midfielder pay for his "lack of respect," reports the Mirror. Angel Di Maria's move to Paris Saint-Germain has become more complicated after he skipped out on Manchester United's preseason tour of the U.S. The report states that the two clubs were very close to agreeing a £43.7 deal for the Argentine - representing a £16 million loss on a player United signed just 12 months ago - but Van Gaal has now reportedly raised the price to £45 million to teach Di Maria a lesson. The former Real Madrid midfielder has already been fined £360,000 for his absence on United's preseason tour of the U.S. The Mirror suggests that the deal will still get done, but it looks as though Van Gaal's headmaster act may get his club a few extra shillings out of the deal.
Some random thoughts for discussion's sake: - Blind can play any position on the field. I'd rate him higher at CB than Smalling or Jones, for sure. Just have to pair him with a taller CB for set pieces. With the arrivals this offseason, playing Blind elsewhere than CM is really the only way to raise the total team utility. He's not at Schweini, Carrick, or Schneiderlin's level, but he's still one of our top 11-13 players. I think that's a good sign for the way our team is going...LVG building a starting 11 of 5-8 midfielders, a la Germany. - The Di Maria sale could not be a better result, imo. I don't think he has the fortitude for England. Not a knock against him, it just occasionally happens. Reminds me of Diego Forlan, a bit. Just more suited to Spanish/French/Italian play. I think he had a good season last year, but nowhere near worth the wages or transfer fee. Sure, he probably would've been better this season, but it's clear his heart wasn't fully in it and I'm naturally averse to anyone playing for us that seems so eager to jump ship. We're not taking that much of a bath on the transfer fee, either. Ashley Young deserves to play until he falls off from his current high standard. - Clearly another signing is a real possibility. Would like to see Otamendi or another CB, obviously. But it'd also be fun to steal Lacazette from Arsenal or wherever else he may be going. - Some news sources say De Gea is being sold today. Not buying it happening until either Friday or, if not, the last few hours of the the transfer window. There's no reason we shouldn't get top dollar for him. If we keep him this season, he could be the difference between 2nd and 1st. That's worth the risk of a free transfer. If Madrid comes through with a satisfactory bid, then we have Romero. Good position to be in. - Darmian v. Valencia is going to be interesting to watch. - Really want to see how Schweini is going to be used. Is he still a box-to-box type? Play him like Scholes used to? I think I'd prefer a Pirlo-like system and allow Schneiderlin to roam more than he could at Southampton. That being said, if Carrick is healthy it's probably best for us to have him be the holder. As LunchBox said, you really have to wonder where all of this leaves Herrera. On his way to becoming a fan favorite; hope he stays on the pitch, especially for home matches. - Further, what becomes of Fellaini now? Truly wouldn't be surprised if he's now classified on our roster as a forward. Will get inserted up top in a 4-4-2 late in games if we need one. - Time for Luke Shaw to come good. - Hope LVG gets a heavier squad rotation going now that we have more depth. Want to see Periera and Januzaj and Wilson play.
If true, this is nothing short of a disaster IMO. One week before the season? And with CL matches in the not-so-distant future? If LVG does this and rolls with one of the spare parts at GK that we have laying around (no way he finds a suitable replacement in a week) this is going to be a very boring Chelsea-like season of hoping to score first and then parking the bus the rest of the way.
If De Gea is sold then I think we will sign Cillessen rather quickly. The manager of Ajax has basically said he's gone if LvG and United come calling. Whether he is good enough to be a #1 at a top club remains to be seen but I think it could work with Romero here to show him the ropes. Definitely like LvG playing hardball over the Di Maria sale. I'm fine with a player not wanting to be here anymore but at least be a professional about it. I've also seen reports that we inquired about Lucas Moura. I'd call that a win if we could swing him as part of the Di Maria deal.
The thing with Cillessen is that he has already played in the CL with Ajax so he would not be eligible to play in the CL with us.
Cillessen isn't good enough, imo. Would strike me as just LVG signing players he knows rather than players we've been scouting.
The Argentine City players just got back and Alexis doesn't report till Monday for us. Obviously Di Maria wants to be sold but seems like a whole bunch of nothing about him not reporting so far.
It was reported that LvG wanted Di Maria and Rojo to join up with the team on the 25th before the Barcelona game. Both of them were at the airport on the 24th but neither of them got on the plane. Rojo had a passport issue but nobody knew why Di Maria didn't get on the plane.
Papers saying ADM will have his medical tomorrow. Also saw somewhere that Pedro's mom referenced him moving to England but didn't see an actual quote.
