That would be the best case scenario Two 1st round top 20 talents in two rounds. What's our 2nd rounder? 8th?
People are going to disagree with me, but the fins have filled their quota of risk picks in the first 3 rounds. Don't care if jack is still on the board, get a guy who will be on the field in August.
I wouldn't be upset at taking Jack, but I'd be way more concerned with him than with tunsil. We should be in position to get a starter with the next pick, need to make it happen.
I don't have much concern for tunsil, but there is still concern, especially if the NFL rules he has to go into the drug program. Dolphins aren't in a position to be taking risks with every one of their early picks. I'm sure I'd change my mind and go full homer if they do get jack, but inside I would be terrified of the possibility of ending up in a situation where our top two draft picks are on the shelf at the same time
Round One - Pick No. 13 (trade down with Eagles from pick No. 8 that produced CBByron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso) Round Two - Pick No. 11 in the round (42nd overall) Round Three - Pick No. 10 (73rd overall) Round Four - Pick No. 9 (107th overall) Round Five - Pick No. 8 (147th overall) Round Six - Pick No. 11 (186th overall) Round Seven - Pick No. 6 (227th overall) from the Ravens for Davis, and Pick No. 10 (231st overall)
Agree on Jack. saw someone said today some teams more worried about him than jaylon smith because smith should get better over time but Jack's shit is degenerative. In no order, I like Ogbah, Spence, Alexander, Fuller, Bell, Howard, Cravens here.
so the dolphins managed to fall ass backwards into the #1/2 talent in the entire draft. As happy as I am as a fan, this organization does not deserve that kind of luck
So basically we got Byron Maxwell, Kiko Alonso, and Laremy Tunsil in exchange for giving up a draft slot that was used, imo, to pick an inferior talent at the same position as the guy we got at 13 . Pretty damn good deal...like Conklin but give me Tunsil over him all day I'm sure Armanda has found a way to bitch about this, somehow?
Seeing Jack is likely at the top of our board right now. Had seen earlier our medical crew cleared him. Now James Andrews saying no micro fracture surgery needed. hmmm...
feels like spin from Jack's agent. No reason for Jack to wait to reveal that info and cost himself millions of dollars
It may be, but our doctors had reportedly cleared him. Finsider dude saying good chance we would have taken him at 13 if not for Tunsil fall.
then why did nobody else take him? There were some real head scratching picks late in the 1st. Also, if they have a conviction on him, they should be calling Cleveland to get 32 and make sure they can get him. Really easy to sell that you used your 1,2, and 4th round picks on two top 10 talents if you are convinced he is healthy. It just doesn't add up imo
Apparently Dr Andrews has said he doesn't need surgery. If true, then no way he falls to us by pick 11.
Only thing with Alexander is the same issue I had with Hargreaves If Joseph really wants CB's with "size" he isn't going to take him since he only came in at 5'10 190 at the combine Granted pac man seemed to thrive under him though in cinci..
i feel embarrassed for saying this, but i read his column this morning and i felt like ripping my eyeballs out (has to be related to hoosier) a few snippets, comparing him to dion jordan Spoiler But if Tunsil is a dope… If Tunsil continues to be the dummy who was in the room with teammate Robert Nkemdiche when the defensive end was arrested for drug possession last year, then this pick is a firing offense. Simple as that. “We’re very comfortable with all the information we have,” Grier said without hesitation about the newest Miami offensive lineman. Of course, two years ago, when he returned from his first drug suspension, I asked Dion Jordan if he had overcome his drug problem and he smiled and said he had. So excuse me if I wait until Tunsil goes a year or three without being suspended before I completely commit his answer to Gospel. That is either ridiculously tone deaf or downright genius. There is nothing in between.
I like the pick. Consistent performance over past two years and QBs had low passer ratings against him.
We passed on Alexander for a DB from Baylor? Not sitting well with me. Don't know much about the dude though.
Would have preferred Alexander and I don't get why we traded a 4 to move up 4 spots but I hope I'm proven wrong.
Wish we didn't move up for him, but feel good on that pick. Press corner fits what we are going to do on defense. Big upside on Howard, and good chance he's a starter from the jump
So Dolphins to give up a 4th to move up for a CB and none go before the original pick. Such outstanding pick management.
Meh. Seems like Gase is okay with RB by committee, because can't see Ajayi being a workhorse and drake certainly isn't
Never a productive runner. I think the max numbers of carries we gave him in a game in his career was like 8. He was the #2 back this year and instead of giving him the ball, like we have always given the #2 back a ton of carries under Saban, we ran Henry into the ground. We pretty much only threw the ball to him on screens. Decent pick as a fifth rounder as a change of pace or 3rd down back, but no way as a primary or secondary ball carrier. Didn't even trust him with that in college. Oh, and he's incredibly injury prone. This has been his only healthy season iirc. And I think he missed a few games this year too
What's his full injury history? Seems like a bad idea to use a 3rd round pick on a guy who's never been a feature back and has had this happen to him
