No idea why the US wouldn't back Shia militias in their military efforts in Iraq, oh wait BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Powerful Iraqi Shi'ite Muslim armed groups on Tuesday rejected and pledged to fight any deployment of U.S. forces to the country after the United States said it was sending an elite special operations unit to combat Islamic State. "We will chase and fight any American force deployed in Iraq," said Jafaar Hussaini, a spokesman for one of the groups, Kata'ib Hezbollah. "Any such American force will become a primary target for our group. We fought them before and we are ready to resume fighting." http://news.yahoo.com/iraqi-shiite-militias-pledge-fight-u-forces-deployed-191053767.html
The books of the party of God? (Looked it up. It means battalions apparently. Freaking three-letter root problems.... K-T-B means "wrote")
This is the Delta Force operator who was killed in October during the raid on the IS prison. Guy was highly decorated. RIP. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_Wheeler
The long dick of Qasem Soleimani strikes again. Unfortunate that the Iraqi Army is still too weak to fight ISIS.
Apparently American and Iranian forces co ordinate events in Iraq. Not working together but make sure they don't step on each other's toes.

AP BREAKING: Britain says it has carried out airstrikes in Syria after Parliament approves attacks on IS. 12/2/15, 9:59 PM
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — The latest on the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California (all times local): 8 a.m. The wife of the couple blamed in the deadly California shootings pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group and the terror group's leader on Facebook using an alias then deleted the messages before the attacks, a U.S. law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Friday. The remarkable disclosure about the online activities of Tashfeen Malik provided the first significant details suggesting a motive for her participation with her husband, Syed Farook, in the shootings that killed 14 people and wounded 21. Malik was a Pakistani woman who came to the U.S. in 2014 on a fiancee visa before Farook married her in California. Specifics details about her postings were not disclosed by the law enforcement official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because this person was not allowed to discuss an ongoing investigation. -- From Associated Press writer Tami Abdollah

Not that surprising really. Erdogan and Barzani are really close. Lot of Turkish money and investment in Erbil.
PKK are basically paid mercenaries and common criminals. Apparently turkeys view of the Kurds in northern Iraq has softened over the last few years. They offer stability and are able sustain themselves. I was told Turkey is open to leaving them be.
"The logic behind this argument is that Ankara would rather have the KRG as a player in the region — given the close economic and political relationship it has established with the Iraqi Kurds" They were aLready training pershmerga in Iraq over a year ago. Major Economic ties in Kurdistan. Also flew some of them into turkey during the Kobane fighting. Such a crazy war.
Remember a few months back when I said my buddy is over there training the Kurds and that Turkey was warming up to the Kurds? Remember when you dumped all over that?
Yup they're warming up to them so much they've been bombing them and killing civilians left and right.
Iraqi Kurds yes. Turkish Kurds. Lol no. They literally allowed Isis to bomb them inside their own country.
Let's browse the headlines Kurdish civilians hit by snipers as Turkey cracks down on militants Iraqi Kurdish civilians bear the brunt of Turkish airstrikes Turkey: Kurds Threatened Before Election Turkish military jets leave Kurdish village in ruins, kill 9 - local media It's like they're best friends
Just curious what is Turkeys problem with the Kurds historically? I assume it has to do with the break up of the Ottoman Empire at the end of WW1 and the Kurds not getting their own country
Ask anyone that has served your country if they have dealt with our military. They all say the same thing, as good as it gets. Remember we are undefeated.
I mean Iraq is a war they claim as theirs, being with the Canadian military i can attest to that, but did we win?
Korea is more of a draw. While we had thousands of troops fighting we weren't directly involved. That was your show.
