Theory going around now is that she never actually made weight. Apparently she missed by half a pound but they announced it as 141 for some reason. There's video and pictures and everything. Haven't seen them myself but twitter seemed convinced. You can see the scale here...she clearly missed.
Aren't the televised weigh ins done just for show? I remember hearing the real ones are done beforehand... I want to say Rogan said it
Damn, Roy was PISSED at Big John. Can't say that I blame him. Silva was getting wrecked by punches, and Big John seemed content just to watch.
This is like a lion playing with it's food. Cyborg can finish this whenever she wants to. It just seems like she wants to go an extra round or two.
205 loaded as promised, 3 championship fights and headlined by Conor. 206 is going to be headlined by GSP. 207 is going to be headlined by Ronda. UFC could do 3.5 million PPV buys in 3 events.
He's not wrong, but it's misplaced anger. Dana played him hard. Everyone knew the Conor-Alvarez fight was the no brainer, Dana only floated the Khabib fight to get it done. Sucks for Khabib.
How much you think tickets will be for 205? Debating on going, always wanted to go to a UFC event, would be a lot easier to get to NY than Vegas and a card headlined by Conor has me debating it
Nosebleeds for 202 were going for around $200 after fees, but they lowered them when the demand wasn't quite there. But first card at MSG with 3 title fights and Conor headlining, probably be the highest average ticket price in UFC history.
$100, $250, $450, $600, $800, $1000, $1500 Prices were raised 25%-50% after the McGregor announcement EDIT: These are from an employee presale, not sure what it means for other tickets--probably just that employees aren't allowed to purchase the nosebleed tix more so than they aren't available at all. Prices include fees and taxes. P6: $263.00 P5: $469.68 P4: $624.18 P3: $830.18 P2: $1036.18 P1: $1551.18
They need to dock her purse or man-bag 20%. You can't have different sets of rules especially when your opponent says the fight is off if you can't make the catch weight.
The commission should launch an investigation IMO. I know stuff works differently in Brazil, but that looks like corruption to me.

This card... Eddie Alvarez (28-4) vs. Conor McGregor (20-3)* Tyron Woodley (16-3) vs. Stephen Thompson (13-1)** Joanna Jedrzejczyk (12-0) vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-0)*** Chris Weidman (13-1) vs. Yoel Romero (12-1) Donald Cerrone (31-7, 1 NC) vs. Kelvin Gastelum (12-2) Miesha Tate (18-6) vs. Raquel Pennington (8-5) Frankie Edgar (20-5-1) vs. Jeremy Stephens (25-12) Tim Kennedy (18-5) vs. Rashad Evans (19-5-1) Tim Boetsch (19-10) vs. Rafael Natal (21-7-1) Jim Miller (27-8) vs. Thiago Alves (21-10) Lyman Good (19-3) vs. Belal Muhammad (10-1) Liz Carmouche (10-5) vs. Katlyn Chookagian (8-0)
Someone updated Jeremy Stephens Wikipedia page adding a loss to McGregor at UFC 205....I'd screenshot it but on mobile
I used to not like him but his shit talking is on another level and he earned my respect jumping into the ring with a much bigger Diaz... twice. Team McGregor.
Might just be my favorite press conference moment of all time. Conor legit looked confused as to who was talking at first.
He owned Alvarez too at the press conference, though I'm a big fan of Eddie. Conor is smart knowing his window is short, he is riding this title wave (pun intended) of money until he can.
I really can't decide which fight I'm most excited for. McGregor v. Alvarez for obvious reasons Thompson v. Woodley is a crazy matchup of styles and I want to see Wonderboy spinning hook kick Woodley's face off Weidman v. Romero - two world class wrestlers , plus I'd like to see Weidman get back to the top Cowboy v. Gastelum - I just love watching Cowboy fight at 170 Khabib v. Johnson - I haven't really seen Khabib fight much so that will be interesting. Plus Johnson seems to be out for blood The first time I can remember having zero reservations about buying a UFC PPV
I mean didn't Dana say multiple times Connor would have to vacate the featherweight title if he didn't defend it after the second Diaz fight? I would be pissed too if I was Aldo or any fighter in that division really.
Dana has to ride the McGregor train for as long as he can. That's the cash cow. He's probably doing whatever Connor asks/says. He's printing money for the UFC right now. I'd call Aldo's bluff. It's a business.
They'll keep the FW belt on Conor for now to promote champ vs champ. If he does beat Eddie, no idea what they'll do with the FW belt then.
Don't disagree with that at all. Was just saying I can see why Aldo is pissed off. I'm sure he knows he stands to make a ton more money fighting Connor than anyone else as well.
Yea, you're right, but if Aldo wasn't an idiot he'd just be patient. He should hope that Connor beats Alvarez and then the rematch with Connor would make him sooooo much more money. Even if Connor loses and goes back down to 145 to fight Aldo it's still going to be a monster fight. I get he wants the belt, but he got knocked out in 13 seconds or whatever last time. So he really needs to go sit down.
