I've always thought of Tron as a niche movie within the niche of scifi. When it came out the home computer revolution was just starting. kids and adualts were just getting into programming, hell, programming was just becoming a "thing". Tron was a movie they could relate to in a way. Sure, it had cool visual effects and an easily followable story but it just didn't really seem to be for the masses. It was a movie for the emerging computer nerds. The recent sequel was just a money grab from out-of-ideas Hollywood to the grown up generation that the original appealed to.
I'm a half hour into this podcast and all they are doing is ripping on Judge Dredd. I do not like that. I thought I made it clear that I am a Judge Dredd fan. I do not want to listen to these neckbeards rip on a fav of mine!
Oh they did battlefield? I'll have to go back and get that one. I just started listening so I'm catching up. This week's devil advocate was good too
I know I will get shit for this, but Battleship is not half bad. For an action sci fi flick it could have been a lot worse. Nothing to write home about, but if you catch it on HBO or something it worth a watch.
stumbled across this the other day Spoiler I've got Serenity on bluray and haven't watched it in a while. Might have to do that soon.
watched battleship. PHENOMENAL MOVIE... if you like just straight up ridiculous, would never happen ever, retarded movies... i laughed probably the whole last hour of the movie. re-fucking-diculous
Did anyone hear about this movie Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise? Supposed to be something like a sci-fi Groundhog Day. Anytime things go to shit, everything resets itself to the beginning. Weird. Sounds good, though.
If you haven't been in the Milana Vayntrub thread, Other Space is gonna start on April 14. From the Dude who made Freaks and Geeks. Trailer... https://screen.yahoo.com/other-spac...165500645.html?mktg=otherspace-sem-goog-promo
Pretty pumped for The Martian coming out in November. The book is great, the cast is solid, the script is by Drew Goddard and it's directed by Ridley Scott. Yeah, Scott has been pumping out crap on a regular basis but Prometheus was one of the best looking movies I've seen. I hope Scott shot this in native 3D as well.
He's directed like one movie since Prometheus. Between that and Gladiator I can only think of one movie that was crap, Robin Hood. Body of lies, American Gangster, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men, and Kingdom of Heaven were all decent to good movies. All in all, you shut your fucking whore mouth.
