Italy needs to get its shit together and let these team build new stadiums. It's a fucking joke they still play in these shitholes in 2016
He'd just banged in a brace when I typed that, . I'll just leave this thread dedicated to that shit tier league lay dormant at the bottom of the page next time. Serie A fined for fixing sale of tv rights, shocker. http://www.espnfc.us/italian-serie-a/story/2855236/serie-a-fined-for-fixing-sale-of-tv-packages
Milan reportedly close to a deal that would see a group led by Asia's richest man (Jack Ma of Alibaba) buy 70% of the club and take full control within a year. He alone is estimated to be worth $22.5-25 Billion, so I couldn't really ask for a more wealthy investor. Simply put- The time has come for Berlusconi to sell the club, and for the club to be gutted from top to bottom.
Unless you're taking the piss, no, my heart is and has always been red and black. JHarris is the resident Serie A Inter fan. Myself, Bankz, and Keef are Milan fans :)
Congrats on the takeover. Serie A seems boring when it's just Juve with Napoli and Roma duking it out for first loser.
Higuain broke the 66 year old record for most goals (now 36) in a Serie A season with this goal today.
I'm gonna be mad if he is sacrificed this summer. He is special and a 5 man midfield rotation of him, Pjanic, Nainggolan, Strootman, and De Rossi is everything.
Is Michael still around? I remember when he used to think that Milan was gonna catch Real Madrid in UCL titles.
Honestly I still cant understand what happened to Milan. I hope for the good of Italian soccer that you guys figure shit out.
It's pretty simple, Berlusconi decided not to put any more money into the team about 2009. Galliani has no idea how to put together a team with a budget and here we are. This week is potentially the most exciting news we've had in 7 years in that Belusconi is going to sell the team to Chinese investors who want to spend money.
The problem isn't Silvio... He's invested money. Lots of money. Even after 2009 he's invested. The issue is Galliani. The game has passed him by. He buys horrible players with little to no upside and outcast at prices above value. He only adds to the midfield when adding free agents or bottom of the barrel type talent. The game has long ago shifted and you must have an elite midfield to win... shit its really always been this way tbqh. For years we dominated with Gattuso, Pirlo and company. But Galliani has never properly addressed this area. Instead investing in the likes of Montolivo (worst captain of my lifetime and maybe ever) Kucka, Prince Boateng and shit birds of that elk. The man no longer has a pulse on top young talent around the world. We haven't gotten a hyped prospect since Pato... long gone are the Brazilian pipeline days were we had Kaka and Silva and Pato (before he fell in love with the amazing Barbs). Silvio will never fire Galliani... And even with this sale they will find room for this motherfucker in the office. So even with money coming from new owners my biggest issue is who's buying the players. For as much shit as Leonardo got it was his run of players that provided the last great bit of success we had before Galliani strong armed him out and took over and ruined this team.
Nah, Silvio not investing is the main issue. When did he invest after 2009? He at times said that there was a zero sum transfer budget (meaning you had to sell players to have money to buy new players) or would spend a max of 30m in a window. That's not going to keep you competitive in Europe when other teams are spending 100m per window. Galliani has no idea how to spend on a budget so that compounded the issue. Maybe if you had the guys at Porto who are used to buying guys low and selling high then it could work. Galliani has always just bought the best players available for huge sums. When the money dried up so did his effectiveness. Leonardo was the guy with the pulse on the Brazilian talent, it's not that the game has passed Galliani, he was never the one to be credited for finding those guys. We sold Thiago Silva and Ibra to balance a budget...that's on Silvio. When he could no longer use Milan as a tool for his political machine he stopped investing.
We had to sell Silva and Ibra because Galliani was giving guys like Ambrosini, Gattuso along with numerous other fodder huge amounts of salary. Even if it's not 100m a transfer window and only 20-50 you can still build a team that doesn't finish mid table in fucking italy.
I'm not trying to ignore the faults of Silvio because you are right he hasn't invested in the team as he has in years past and its time he moves on because its clear he has no intention of adding legit money. But even if he would I have zero faith Galliani could do anything productive with the cash anyways.
Calciomercatocom(En) @CmdotCom_En 3m3 minutes ago #Berlusconi: 'I sold #ACMilan to the Chinese. They will invest €400m on the transfer market' First major obstacle out of the way, now let's hope there is someone who can tell Galliani who to buy, because as you've mentioned he can't be trusted to buy the right players.
Make us your feeder club, Milan. Li is supposedly finalizing a takeover at Wolves in the coming days.
FUCK YES!!!! I was reading some names being linked to us and amazingly enough they were not old, over the hill, over paid and under performing assholes. They were young talented players.... and the majority of them were midfielders... I'm beyond happy about this. Silvio is right they will need to invest about 200 million to make this roster top 3 in Italy. They need 3 in the mid, 1 CB, 1 ST at min.
Excited. Grateful to Berlusconi for an incredible 30 years in which Milan won as many European titles as Barcelona, Liverpool, United, Bayern, etc. have in all of their history. That said, it was beyond time to sell, but 100% credit to him for holding out for someone that could give Milan the future it deserves. IMO, Galliani probably cost Berlusconi AT LEAST 500M EUROS with his mismanagement overt the last decade. The Milan at the turn of the century was the 2nd in global revenue, if we had continued on that path, you're talking about a club worth well over 1B Euros.
Happy for your guys. I've missed seeing you guys fighting for European glory. Any names you wanna share. I've seen some links to Kovacic from Real Madrid.
As of last night (forgive me if some of these names are off the market at this point, things change quickly) Kovacic, Pjaca, Zielinski, Parades, Fernado, Ljajic.
