Welp.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21261139 Spoiler Kei Kamara: Norwich City set to sign Sporting Kansas striker Norwich City will sign striker Kei Kamara from Sporting Kansas City, subject to the Sierra Leone international gaining a work permit. Canaries manager Chris Hughton has been keen to add attacking options this month and has failed with two bids for Celtic's Gary Hooper. Kamara, 28, scored 11 in 33 games for the MLS side last season. He moved to the USA as a youngster and started his professional career with Columbus Crew. Kamara also had spells at San Jose and Houston Dynamo before joining Kansas in 2009. Hughton has insisted he is not worried about bringing in a player with no experience of English football and told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I don't think it's about the league they play in. "We would always have to have good reasons for liking a particular player."
Lots of SKC news with Kamara leaving and the partnership expansion with Boulevard to name the Member's Club and become official craft beer of SKC.
letter from robb. i love him as the chairman. So, I wanted to write you a note about Kei. I’m sure you know by now we’ve agreed to loan Kei to Norwich City in the EPL until early May. I’ve just returned from Tucson and had the opportunity to be very involved in this, and I spoke with Kei over the past couple days as we worked through things. I need to preface this by telling you that we love having Kei on our team. He’s performed, connected with fans and created a life for himself in Kansas City that will last long after he’s done with soccer. One of the frustrating things for fans, but a fact of life, is that our players will have aspirations to play in the top leagues throughout the world – most especially the EPL. If we are to continue on the track of being a well-respected organization for player development, then it will be inevitable that teams will come after our players and that our players will have desires to go test their talents in these top leagues. As an organization, we are never going to begrudge them for it – and we certainly don’t in this case with Kei. We’ve committed to you that our goal is to produce a consistent, championship-caliber team over the long-term. We’ve been outspoken early this year that an MLS championship is our primary goal. In light of today’s news, nothing has changed in our expectations. It’s situations like this that test our organization’s ability to maximize the opportunity to meet both of those goals, while working with our players’ aspirations and professional development. Strange as it may seem, we think this gives us the best opportunity to keep Kei long-term. As much as he loves Kansas City, Kei deeply wants to experience the EPL and this is his chance. So we’ve partnered with him to give him the chance to do so for the first 10 games this season. The loan proceeds will allow us to reinvest in our existing young core of players and solidify their futures in the club. In the event Kei is signed by Norwich City, our club would receive a very fair transfer fee that again, we’d use to reinvest in our club. If Kei returns in May, his contract is extended and we will work in earnest to sign him to a deal that keeps him with the club through the end of his career. If we hadn’t have done this, Kei would have left at the end of the year as a “free” player, similar to Roger Espinoza this past year. So the risk we take is allowing him to go for 10 games this year, in hopes of getting him for years to come. I’m not going to say to you that “this is a business,” and you have to get used to it. I know it’s not a business to you, it’s very personal. It is to us as well. We get to know these young men very well, and do what we can to create a partnership that encourages them to connect with the community and hopefully stick around for the long-term. We don’t like it when they go. I understand the impact this has on your kids as well – to the nth degree. My seven- and six-year-olds, Katherine and Charlie, don’t ask me, “Why did they let him go?” They ask me, “Why did YOU let him go?” so I get it….. We want Kei to continue to be successful. He deserves it for the hard work he’s put in. There’s a chance we won’t get him back, and if so, we can all cheer him on in the EPL and be proud to call him one of ours. But if he comes back, I know we’ll all welcome him with #heartshapedhands. Take care, Robb
pretty cool...but still going to suck. Kei was the most talented player on the field for almost every game last season.
we were talking about it in chatzy last night, but zusi has looked great in the RW spot for the USMNT, and he could definitely move over there now that we have feilhaber. we lose that speed, but would still have great (if not better) decision making, and better crossing.
Match last weekend should be huge for our confidence, even though it was an ugly fucking game. Carrasco put in one of the worst DM performances I've seen in a while, at least in the first half. Our back 4 was under constant pressure when in possession because he never showed support. He might have had 2 touches in the 1st half. Never thought I'd miss Uri this much :(
That might have been the worst midfield performance I've seen since the rebranding. Luckily philly is just pure shit so we could scrape 3 points out. Really we aren't sitting bad points wise with this slow start and we haven't even scratched the surface of our potential. I wonder where we'll turn now that something happened to the Rafa deal? The rumors are a S American attacking player. I hope we find a speedy winger, we have to start putting pressure on opponents fullbacks and we just can't with out current line up.
This team just isn't good. No clue why Espinosa is advanced, and no clue why Peterson ever plays, let alone starts
If we use another DP spot on a CB I will be so sad. I highly doubt it comes to that, but man what a shitty situation to be in so early in the season....again.
No excuse not to pick up 3 points. Our back 4 is bad but our front 6 is first teamers. LAs missing keane, zardes, Gonzales, and Villarreal. Their 4 best players
Carrasco sucks, Nemeth is God, Dwyer is broken. Dom needs to ride pine and Nemeth needs to be central. Fuck these wasted chances.
Why is Carrasco even on this team let alone starting? He may be the worst player I've ever seen play for us.
And Kevin Ellis has no business being on an MLS team. Move Anibaba to CB. Put Seth at one full back and De Jong at the other, I don't give a shit about footedness they can figure it the fuck out.
Honestly though, this team isn't winning the shield. But there is so much talent if we could only find a way to make the talent/formation work I could see us making a cup run. And yes, we'll be 4-3-3 till Vermes dies but I'd love to see this: Dia-Anibaba-Matt-Seth -anor-mustivar-de jong ---zeus---benny--- ------nemeth------
Seth/chance-Anibaba-Matt-de Jong -----------------uri------------------- -------roger-----------Benny-------- -----------------zeus----------------- -------Dom-----------nemeth-------- That team could win the open, shield and cup.
we should have won, but my god the fact that we came back and tied,i'll take it you fucking butterfly buttcheeks.
