It’s July, so let’s just keeping crossing it to no one and allow free runners in our box. Seems to have worked the past three fucking years....sigh.
Ike makes a game saving tackle with a pulled hammy. What a stud. Looks like Shelton isn’t moving well after that last tackle either.
Probably should have been a foul on the TFC goal but I'm ok if they consistently let that go. Of course that's an impossible thing to ask.
was at the game tonight in the cauldron. pretty annoyed at the second goal, because it seemed from my angle that the dude got murdered off the ball that led to the goal
Let think positively, maybe this shitty fucking week will convince Vermes to pull the trigger when the window opens on Tuesday.
“Sporting KC is optimistic it can reach multi-year contract agreements with the players it covets — residing in familiar locations such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium and France — but it has not agreed to transfer fees with the clubs. That is the same obstacle that prevented an acquisition during the winter window, prompting Sporting KC to delay its search. It is unclear if the asking prices have changed in the ensuing months.” Read more here: https://www.kansascity.com/sports/mls/sporting-kc/article214715665.html#storylink=cpy
Shelton out 3 months. I don’t remember the play he hurt his knee but he tore his MCL and lateral meniscus. Hopefully it’s a blessing and forces us to get a striker. We might need to add a winger as well though, not a starter but a quality sub. I was hoping we’d get a 9 then have Rubio as a back up allowing Gerso and Shelton to give the wingers rest. I guess we have Lobato and Jimmy whenever they get healthy to help out. Really wish we didn’t get Latif that green card.
Me all match: this looks promising, yep, yep, good, good, (ball to Croizet), GOD FUCKING DAMNIT. Also, Amor still our best #10.
So we’re out of the shield race. Might as well go all in on the open cup and await our first round flame out.
Remember 2 months ago when we were jerking off to the deepest team in Sporting history? Tonight we played a USL scrub and a back up at CB, a kid a LB, a MF who diarrheas out turnovers, and a striker who’s 3 years from being able to muscle off a CB. Yikes, at least we had a bench that featured. 2 back line starters that weren’t healthy enough to play, a stud who hasn’t played in 10 weeks and still needs 2 more to be 100%, a USL striker, a teenager, a Rubio, and a GK named Dick.
That back line will get torched by Houston’s counter attack. I remember we ran a 4-2-3-1 during the preseason of the Nemeth year but never saw it during the season.
