why would the ncaa be pissed off about extending a beacon of morality who was only mentioned one time in the NOA as a cooperative witness? smdh
harrison related Dieter Kurtenbach @dkurtenbach: Harrison Barnes has never had a taste of alcohol. I asked him what happens if the Dubs win: “That’s over. I’m celebrating.”

ANALYSIS - Needs to be said up front that this was obviously an extremely unbalanced matchup. You had seven pros on one side, and a UNC squad with far less future pros, less size/strength, and minus Paige & Pinson. So it was a surprise when the game was close until early in the second segment of the game (when scores were in the 40s) that pros started playing much more aggressive on both ends and stopped jacking 3s -- and they pulled away. - Noteworthy anecdote that explains how competitive these games are. With the pros at 66 points (game is played to 70), Britt was playing tight D on Felton well out beyond the three-point line. Felton made a physical move to get Britt off of him, including a nasty elbow, and barked at Britt: "Don't say anything!" Foul was called on Britt. - You can tell Justin Jackson is bigger. He's by no means beefy, but you can see the added thickness in his arms. The more important takeaway was his confidence. After a bit of a quiet start, he was assertive on offense, he took and made tough shots, and showed additions to his offensive arsenal. The stop on a dime for a pull up three on a fast break (something we haven't seen from him before) ... the three falling into the left corner ... the difficult angle on the baseline floater over an NBA defender. In a pickup game where you don't want to read too much into things, it's clear his confidence is in a good place right now and that makes a world of difference in his offensive game (as we saw at the end of last season). - Johnson definitely played hard. The motor was on high and it yielded a lot of rebounds on both ends. His production was all related to effort and motor. He doesn't have an offensive move beside taking a tough jumper (all of which he missed) when he gets the ball 15-18 feet from the basket and has a defender like Henson in his face. - Not a good game for Meeks. It's hard for him to deal with NBA quality athleticism and length, which is well known, but it can be glaring in a setting like this where he struggles to score over that type of defender. His points came up a jumper, layup and an offensive tip-in. - Britt showed what he does well: quick feet, handle, quick hands on D, hit open threes. There were times he tried to do too much, or took a shot with too high a degree of difficulty, but when he stays within his expertise and only takes jumpers where he is open and his feet are set, he can be a real asset. - Took a moment to recognize Berry, with his added hair and a beard. He hit a nice pull up in the lane, but his best contributions were on defense on-ball and in passing lanes. - Pinson wasn't playing, but as usual he was very involved. Good leadership moment was how quickly he went to Britt's aid after the physical moment with Felton. - Freshmen Kenny Williams and Luke Maye are on campus, per sources, but are in freshman orientation today - Joel James was not in attendance
ruh roh... Starting Secondary as of right meow. CB - senior Malik Simmons (5-11, 190) S - senior Sam Smiley (5-11, 190) S - freshman J.K. Britt (6-0, 190) CB - sophomore M.J. Stewart (5-11, 200) Britt beat out Dominique Green. Simmons beat out Brian Walker and Des Lawrence.
I've got a good feeling about Britt, probably the best athleticism we've had a safety since Searcy Also hadn't realized that Sweet ended the Spring at 2nd team LT and is up to 300 pounds already
Who was trying to tell me that Brian Walker is good? He's awful and I hope he never ever sees the field. So glad he isn't starting.
really like what we've done at DE these last two classes though, just need some studs up the middle to compliment them
welp we lead for DT Kyree Campbell following the Freak Show, said he was originally gonna narrow his list to 10 in August, but thinks he's ready to commit soon instead http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2181913/highlights/166239375/v2
Hey guys, no clue where else I could post this without starting a new thread, so hopefully someone in here can help. Going up to Charlotte for the opening game, and some guys in my fantasy football league were thinking about renting a cabin in the mountains that weekend for our fantasy draft. Was going to check with y'all to see what are our best options here? Looking as close to Charlotte as possible but Charlotte really isn't in the mountains so idk where they got this idea from.
probably would be best to get into town Thursday and get a cheap hotel a bit outside Charlotte (something in huntersville maybe) and have someone sober to drive then go from there to the mountains on friday?
Yea not worried about the time in Charlotte. Got a friend I can stay with dt most likely. Just trying to see what our best options are as far as places to go in the mountains relative to Charlotte. I think they were thinking Charlotte is a lot closer to the mountains than it actually is.
asheville. they have some breweries and the biltmore house is pretty cool but idk if that would be something you want to go to. its about 2 hours from charlotte. i dont know about specific properties but there have got to be a ton of stuff in the asheville/hendersonville area. i know there are some things in boone. been there before for mountain weekend.
cant remember exactly unfortunately. www.boonecabins.com and www.flipkey.com/Boone-cabin-rentals/g48975/ look pretty similar to what we had. they look nice too
I said he had a couple of picks in the SDSU game that won the game for the Tar Heels. I stand by that. Also see that THI (think I'm the only one on here subscribed over there) is abuzz about 2 possible in-state commitments.
InsideCarolina @InsideCarolina 30s30 seconds ago N.C. QB Chazz Surratt has decommitted from Duke and plans to commit to UNC, his mother confirmed to IC
looks like some guy named Sage is being bounced around as the other commit on IC, no clue who that is
Sage Surratt is Chazz's brother. Class of '17 WR. I've also seen some people mention Sage plans to walk-on to the BB team.
Roy may be struggling with BB recruits, but it sounds like he was the closer for Chazz. Roy met with both of the Surratt brothers on Monday, promised Sage a walk-on spot with the BB team, and Chazz decided to follow his brother.
Chazz also was offered a walk-on spot for the BB team. Also, this .. Phillip Gardner @GazettePhil 53m53 minutes ago Chazz Surratt on NOA affecting UNC football: “The coaches said that their lawyers told them 100% the football team won’t be touched.”
