Just did 6 Mercy's... We lost, but took the first point of Hollywood on attack, and had the car inches from the first checkpoint. I could not recommend more, because that shit was hilarious.
Top 2 metrics to get gold in: Objective Time and Objective Kills.... 3rd is healing. The rest is noise.
Yeah, I think that's a great call. My prediction is that you'll see players like Genji and maybe Hanzo scooped almost immediately every game, because those seem to be "mains" for the people that actually think mains in OW is a good idea. Granted, we all have our favorites, but being inflexible because a certain hero is your "main" is a different thing entirely.
always hated people who had "mains" bitch this isn't an mmo where you are dedicating a part-time job worth of time to raid. If you can't play more than 1 role in overwatch you shouldn't be playing competitive.
Also found this interesting... We could use this for point B attacks in Hanamura. I didn't realize so many could get across. I also didn't even realize Mercy could hover without a target.
Love this, because I already love D.Va, so making her even better is real nice. They made lots of changes. They've already done the Torbjorn nerf right?
Watched some of the pro play... Interesting strategy on attack the point -- as in, the defending team sets up above and outside of it. Bastion was wrecking shit in the clip below.
Did they implement the 1 character/team in competitive play? Spoiler I ask, because tournaments haven't used that yet. I'm assuming tournaments moving forward will have that same rule? FE: 2 Lucio, 2 Winston, 2 Reaper team in video below
tournaments normally don't use a patch immediately since people have been prepping for previous patch.
I've never really watched this stuff before, outside of ESPN 2 last year and some documentaries. Seems like a good way to pick up some effective strategies, and games are much more fun in their infancy, when there are constantly new strategies being tested. Spoiler: Rambling on about new vs mature games I base that last comment on my Starcraft experience. I got a pre-release of that game because a friend's sister worked at Blizzard, so before it was released to the general public. I think I was like 28-4 at the time when it was released, and that was all based on Warcraft 2 strategies and trying new strategies with all of the races. Most of these general strategies worked for a few years, but at some point it felt like I went from a top ~15% player to probably middle of the pack. Additionally, pretty much all of my initial rush strategies I had when the game started worked at a much, much lower rate than they once had. Not sure why I said all that other than to give an example of why mature games aren't as fun as new games.
Patch is out for the Xbox. 4 golds as first game with D.Va... She's officially OP. Those who played with her a lot prior are definitely at an advantage. I'm also seeing a ton of McCree again.
I've had about 5 out of 5 leavers in my last ~5 games (3 randoms matchups and 2 with party members. With the party members I had one who dropped without warning... Still not sure why, but he has a baby. The other had a mad GF and was forced to move boxes because his GF was getting pissed and wouldn't wait).... Incredibly frustrating when you're kicking complete ass and then lose because someone drops which always will cause a loss. Yesterday, we had literally gone 100% and 100% in Illios before a teammate quit... We then went on to lose the next 3 and subsequently moved down a rank. Just now with randoms, we dominated and held them to the 2nd point in Dorado but couldn't move it past that because about 1 minute after the attack started and we got the first point a teammate dropped. Before he dropped I was like 22-1 KDR, but ended up like 25-7. Not that it matters, and clearly it doesn't that much to me considering I died so many times because I was trying to push the payload, but it also fucks you statistically. I'll now have a loss with this character on MasterOverwatch when in no way I should. I understand why it is like it is, but surely they can figure out a better middle ground/way to go about it. One idea is to maybe make the punishment slightly harsher if you're not on a team? If you're in a random match-up and leave it will count as 3 losses versus 1 + a 24 hour ban, or something like that. I think that would make all of us feel better about random matches, and it would incentivize non-droppers a littttle bit more to play when they've got no friends online to play with. Can't wait until mid-game leavers start getting banned for the season.
who is pc on here? big enough group for regular groups? tmb ps4 overwatch community doesn't seem to exist.
Servers have been randomly kicking people from competitive games. No matter how fast you can make it back in they wont allow you to rejoin. It's irritating to lose rating due to a glitch.
Just downloaded the game last night. Never really watched or read anything. I'm a run n gun type killer. Any suggestions?
I had to quit watching when the guy couldn't properly pronounce "three". Instead he said "free". I died.
Some advice though - don't just play one character. Don't be that guy. Team comp is really important, so make sure you can be flexible. If you pick last, fill in whats missing on the team or you will lose.
i can play a few others, but i definitely think i'm most useful as lucio. survivability has always been an issue for me in fps game but not so much when i play a high mobility tanky dude with a massive aoe heal/self heal. that gun push back is crazy useful in so many situations too. just wish i could do some actual damage. but he'd be pretty broken if he was doing massive damage.
lucio is super fun to play, especially when you get the hang of wall riding supports are really fun in this, mercy isnt as fun but can still be cool I don't count zen, zen is an offensive hero that for some reason is under support
I think a 3, or maybe even 4 tank attack has treated me the best on attack the defended point maps like Volksung, Hanamura, and all attack the point payload maps.
Just got the game today. Pretty much played Reaper all day. He is definitely very fun. I can already tell that if someone is good, Tracer and that dude with the grenade launcher are going to be a fucking nightmare.
