Assuming thats empty weight? With gear and gas, add a few hundred pounds to that, maybe even 1000 depending on tank size. Even so, sounds like its small enough that you shouldnt have an issue with 2WD. Especially if you are mindful not to go on too slick/steep of ramps.
Basically. It's an Aeropress. Instead of grounds sitting in the coffee, the water is forced through them, under pressure... Avoiding the bitterness you get with a traditional French press.
You can definitely get last year's model silverado brand new right now for 30k. Place in town has 15k off their ltz z71's right now. Would put a 4x4 right at 35 and that's a loaded truck.
I'd opt for the 4x4. It's nice to have when you need it and that extra $3k for it doesn't depreciate very much. You'll be able to sell it for almost $3k more no matter how many miles.
Why own a truck if its not 4x4? Won't ever own a truck without it, can't tell you how many times I used it pulling boats, campers, ice storms etc. Get a SUV if you're going that route with a towing package.
cause i like the option of just throwing crap in the bed of the truck . i kayak fish every weekend and throwing muddy anchor/sandy cooler etc in the inside of a vehicle destroys it. I just don't feel like paying 3k more for 4 WD if I can get away with 2WD. My friend has a 2 wd Tacoma that pulls his 2300# boat just fine. If it becomes a big issue I guess I'll have to sell mine and get a 4WD
I've owned 4x4 trucks my entire life until this one - I can count on one hand how many times I truly needed it and a 2wd wouldn't have done the trick. We don't have ice or snow though.... So that helps
had my 2WD Tundra for 4 years. I've pulled a horse trailer with it many times. Can't think of one time that I've needed 4WD.
http://www.amazon.com/BBQ-Guru-DigiQ-DX2-Green/dp/B006NZUN8A Just got this. Excited about the high/low level limits and actuating damper and fan. I'm installing it today and will smoke a couple pork shoulders tomorrow
Team 4x4 tacoma. Absolutely love it. You can't rally go wrong with any tacoma or tundra though they hold their value like gold
The time you'll best use 4x4 is when you sell your truck. That's the only option that will hold its value.
I should clarify that I don't own a Tacoma, just stating the prerunner is a cool truck. I did buy this for myself last week because I love me:
I could be wrong, but the market is much larger as well, correct? Me and oztessa got a small SUV about 8 months back. She was on fence about AWD and I told her I want something that I will feel comfortable with in the mountains and passes (also grew up doing agriculture construction with my dad, no such thing as a 2WD their company owns). 3 months after we had it we were in mountains and 10 inches of snow came down and it handled everything like a boss. The thing with 4WD, they sell for a lot more and you might only need it 1, 2 or even 3 times a year. But the minute you don't have it you instantly regret not paying for it.
In an area that gets snow that is true. But Gump lives on the gulf coast in Mississippi, so there is no normal driving condition that would require 4wd.
But you never had the pull the wet horse trailer up a steep/wet ramp. Actually pulling the boat, 2WD is not issue, its launching and retrieving the boat on the ramps where it can become an issue.
bought the Tacoma , 2WD, 2016, black, TRD Sport. I'm very happy with it. Only got 3k trade in for my car (2008 Acura TSX hail damage ). MSRP was like 34,500. Got it for like $31,300. 5k down + 3k for my old car 3.something % interest rate =$386 a month. Not bad. I'd post a pic of it but my phone tuck a tumble into the gulf of mexico yesterday. so i may or may not also be posting a pic of a new phone. I'm living that phone in a bag of rice life right now.
Good choice - I have the 2wd, 2016, magnetic gray, TRD Sport - love it, the only complaint I have is the blue tooth connectivity to my phone doesn't always read my texts, it'll alert me - but is about 50/50 on reading them.
Suggestions for a leather portfolio/notebook cover for a spiral notebook? Feed the back cardboard back from the side rather than top.
I pulled a 30 something foot wellcraft up a ramp the other weekend while my buddy was still in the boat. I was in his 4x4 gmc but didn't even know how to put the thing in 4wd. It still pulled it up with ease. If you know how to actually drive and don't just nail down the gas pedal you can pull a boat up a ramp. I just put it in first and it did the rest. As far as trucks go I've been very happy with the early $ numbers coming out on the new 2017 super duty trucks. Looks like they aren't going up much at all from the previous generation. Probably going to be my next major purchase late this summer.
I have a 2011 F250 and its crazy how well it's held its value. The plan is to keep it another 5 years but damn it's tempting to buy the 2017
I've always wanted a truck but haven't had the need for one until now. My dad and I are going in together on an offshore fishing boat. Nothing too huge so we can also easily use it in our lake but 30-35 feet (insane the price differences on boats from brand to brand when they have the same motors/features). I'd wait a few more years if I was you. Your truck is basically new
Fuel being so cheap has really assisted in the demand and values of trucks. Nobody remembers when dealerships were giving away trucks during the last fuel spike and people were selling their used Prius models for more than new asking price?
I will eventually, but looking for something more "dressy". The cap toe is a bit too industrial for the office. I was initially all about the 1k in Cordovan, but leaning Red Wing Beckman in Black Cherry... I'd consider Alden Indy's as well, but there isn't a retailer within 4 hours TYdeFan05
Yeah, I've watched that video & several others on YouTube. I've done plenty of research online & tried them both for fit. I was just interested to see the opinions on here.
My opinion is that Timberland makes a boot that looks really similar for a third of the price. TTFWIW, YMMV, void where prohibited
I wouldn't own the 1K's. I have the Beckman's in black cherry. The Indy boot is badass, and you can catch it on sale for decent prices during Black Friday. That said, the Beckman having a rubber sole makes it a better option than the iron rangers in rainy weather and on uneven surfaces. Though a cobbler could add the vibram pads to iron Rangers as well. It really depends on your budget. If Alden is out of the question due to proximity and not price you are getting into made to order territory. There's tons of new "MTO" manufacturers out there now that didn't exist 5-10 years ago. Nick's, Whites, Wesco, etc (I can list more if you want) are either recent companies or they recently started doing dress and casual boots instead of clunky work boots in black or black. Honestly, there's tons of good info on style forum with good pictures from obsessive hipsters displaying all kinds of boots that are made to your measurements and they keep those measurements on file. What's cool is some places will send you the boot before they add the sole so you can tweak the fit before they lock in the construction. Better quality leather and uniqueness as well as a truly made to fit boot are the advantage. The disadvantages are price, wait times, no returns on finalized boots, and analysis paralysis on options. PM me if you have any more questions you don't want to ask in here for fear of this becoming the boot fag thread. Boot faggotry is worse than wet shaving faggotry. Maybe. Drink every time you read the word "patina" or see a snarky remark. You'll die by page 3
my gripe with the Taco is that the motor is wheezy and ooollllldd. That motor has been around forever. I was thinking about one of the new 4Runners until I realized it still has that archaic plant in it. There's just so much technology out there, it's disappointing to see that same motor in the Taco after all this time
