Tacoma owner checking in and have to agree compared to what's out there. Functional and reliable, but by no means cutting edge imo
Got our preliminary logo done for our kids hockey program. I like it so much, I think we might adapt it or even keep it as is for our adult travel team(s). We focus grouped it with a classroom of 5th graders and it was a consensus winner. Spoiler
Alden has a size guide on their website which you can print and use to size yourself. I did that and then ordered online, and they fit just right. From what you've stated, assuming your budget allows, this is the play.
My loan concern is being sized correctly with the Indys & wanting the boots immediately... So the Black Cherry Beckmans now & the Indys next time I'm in South Florida to visit family.
I think I asked this in the old thread and I didn't save the answers. So sorry. But what are the most comfortable good looking dress shoes? I've got an orthopedic issue with my right leg and uncomfortable dress shoes kill me. Like I've been walking with a limp after wearing these crappy dress shoes. I've got some Rockports because I heard they were comfortable and they are, great support. But they look like crap, they're really boxy or bulky I don't know how to describe it. I need something that looks sharp and is also good for standing and walking/comfort. I'm not sure if such a thing exists.
where do yall get your shoes? We got Dillards and all the standard stuff. I went to Shoe Station for my last pair of dress shoes but beyond Cole Haan they don't have a great selection. My try out Dillards.
Had my Tissot a few years now and love it. Great "entry-level" nice watch. Regularly get compliments on it.
Get sized but don't buy until Black Friday. They a deeply discounted if you look around (assuming you don't wear a weird size). I think you'll be happy with them.
Mizzen and Main shirt. They are crazy expensive but found this on sale so going to give it a shot. They are the moisture wicking shirts that JJ Watt has hyped and are supposed to be incredibly comfortable. Those Texas summers...
Haven't worn any of those but ex-Michigan hockey player Lee Moffie started a clothing company that makes athletic fitting shirts that are moisture wicking, temperature regulating, and machine washable. I have a few and love em
Best moisture wicking dress socks? I have to walk to and from the office like 5 times a day, and the weather is getting into the 80s now
Update. Just got them in the mail and good gosh these are comfortable. Not sure I will ever be able to go back to a normal dress shirt plus it's the best fitting dress shirt I've ever put on. Got one of both and in terms of comfort I like the Spinnaker Collection better.
After trying out the options, decided on the Iron Rangers in Oxblood Mesa. Way more comfortable than the Beckmans & the Oxblood comes with the Vibram, not cork, sole
sunglass talk decided it's time to ditch the $15 throwaways I always wear and buy something that doesn't start showing film scratches after a couple of weeks. I have two criteria: 1) must be incredible at blocking out the sun/glare and give me superhuman vision while driving 2) not make me look anymore like a dork than I do when not wearing sunglasses also my head is enormous. I wear a 7 7/8 hat and most sunglasses leave indentations on my temples after I wear them. I'd prefer for that not to happen. Thinking of either blue or green lenses but wondering if they'd do a good enough job blocking the sun.
Wear Persols 90% of the time, but my Maui Jim's have the best lenses I've experienced. I'm sure Costas will get some votes in here as well, but not my style
Pretty much have to go to a sunglass store to try them on- maui Jim has great customer service. Had some for close to 10 years they started falling apart - I called them mailed them back and had a brand new pair sent to me for around $50. They were falling apart because I abused the hell out of them.
There's a lot of great lenses out there but make sure you get polarized, try them on first (or make sure they have a good returns policy), and read up in customer service. Maui, Costa, Persol, Randolph etc all make great polarized lenses and have generally positive feedback. There's tons more but with your big noggin I'd bet the Maui and CostA's options designed specifically for big heads might be your best casual lead. Persol for a dressier look. Randolph actually doesn't seem to cater as well to the large of head. As for Doug's feedback, I had a similar experience with Costa but I think it was $70 to replace $220 pair I bought in 2006. That was fair to me and the communicated well.
