I hate when people say people suck just because they don't like their music. Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you can't admit they are talented. There are plenty of artists who make music I don't like but I at least realize they're talented. You may hate Kanye as a person or hate his music but to say he sucks or isn't talented is fucking retarded.
See the thing about it is that when he first came out, Kanye talked throughout his music about not becoming a sellout and not becoming another materialistic bullshit rapper. Then he became exactly that. Before all of that bullshit, he was a phenomenon. No one will argue that he has not become a pompous asshole since achieving stardom. Snoop Dogg produced 1 amazing album and has lived off the persona of it ever since.
I've always subscribed to the idea that he lost it when his mom died. she kept him grounded and was the biggest thing in his life, to see him go where he's gone after she died in such a sudden fashion isn't quite so crazy, it just seems that way because he's more high profile.
Never thought of 'take it easy' as a line picked up from blacks, thought it came from the hippie movement of the 60's but that makes sense.
